As an 8th gen Civic owner (since new) I was going to trade in but then I retrofitted CarPlay to my car. What can I say, it does the job just fine. You can buy the plastic housing that seats the unit and it was east to install.
Going way back to pre turbo and pre fuel injection Hondas I had a 1984 Civic S. There was no Si because they still had carburetors. But it was fun in its day. Under 2000 pounds. 5 speed stick. And a whopping 76 horses. Plenty of power for a very light vehicle. Great video.
Actually I find the speedometer up top better for spirited driving. It basically makes it a heads-up display. I found it better when doing canyon runs cause I can see my speed while focusing on the road so it makes it easier to tell how fast your going
Love my Si. Had a sedan but it got totaled so I went with the coupe because 1. I couldn’t find a great example of another sedan and 2. I wasn’t ready to give up on the 8th gen chassis. I like the design of the coupe but do miss having 4 doors sometimes. But this car is still exciting to drive everyday, even after a total of 6 years of ownership.
2024 here still daily driving my 2010 si coupe. I agree the back seat is tiny but its a 2D, duh. It's the love of my life. Clear coat may be peeling off, but I will keep her to the end. So reliable and such a joy to drive. Even up here in the snow in Maine (just turn off the VSA) ;-)
good review. what really stood out to me about this car is the impeccable suspension design. even though its a macpherson in the front, they make the best of it. loads of caster, lower control arm geometry, steering rack, the coupe has 1mm thicker front sway bar than the sedan, slightly wider rear track width, the wheel base is shorter by 2in, and lighter by about 70lbs. i see about 4 of these on any open lapping day at my local road course. very good track car and daily, sedan and coupe
im looking so hard for Si Coupes to replace my Pontiac G6 Coupe but I want a cool color not just black or that ugly pewter color. Finding orange ones is so hard
Good review but I don't understand why you kept going on and on and on about the back seat. If you bought the coupe, you weren't looking to be using the back seat for extended periods. If you bought the coupe, it's because you didn't want the sedan, like myself!
It's kind of a shame that they no longer make civic coupes. There's little to no demand for coupes, though. That and the fact that the 10th gen civic was controversial looking, to say the least. As an aside, what kind of automatic did the 8th and 9th gen use?
I test drove an 07 coupe Si and I loved it, more than the Miata I test drove. Maybe after the Jag that I plan on buying in the next few years I might get this, maybe.
I’m picking up a 2010 Honda civic coupe today. After watching him get in and out of the back.. i am prepared for the complaints. lol But, at least we won’t be ubering or waiting for rides.

You take the Sedan, I’ll definitely take the Coupe. That’s a gorgeous car.
Love my 8th gen coupe but I’m not a fan of the rear, why does it have to be so bubbly and stick out like that

i'd love to buy an si but they're just so hard to find
it’s not that they r hard to find it’s that there hard to find unmolested ☝🏽
It's getting harder to find the Civic generation unmolested by a teenager.... It's hard to find an fg2 I found an fd1 185k
Expensive* not hard to find
Selling my Honda Civic SI 2 door coupe 6 speed with only 65000 original MLS super clean stored in the winter
@@kristenholman3833where are you?
Just picked up a 2011 si sedan and I must say it’s a fun nice car definitely quick idk why the hate
I have an 09 Civic Si Coupe in Orange Pearl and I track it here in Colorado at PPIR, such a fun car.
im looking so hard for Si Coupes to replace my Pontiac G6 Coupe but I want a cool color not just black or that ugly pewter color. Finding orange ones is so hard
@@bradyg499 That is why I chose the orange pearl and it might be harder to find but worth it once you come across it.
@@CruiseControl1 yes I’m definitely going for that or a Blaze Orange dc5 Type S

I totally agree.
Coupes are more sporty… the sedan is a family car. I think that’s where Honda messed up because it’s a major divide with the 8th gens.
Been waiting for this! Just traded my 09 fg2 for a 18’ hatch but I miss my Si so much
Coming from a few years at a dealer when these were made..Definitely the sedan.
💯 agreed sedan is just way more practical + tons of aftermarket body upgrades.
Man I just discovered this channel I love this guy
naw the back seats are fine, you're just over weight
😂😂😂😂

5 speed
@@Kana0211 They came in automatic???
They made an auto?! The guy said they didn't in the video
@@winstonwolfwhiteshoes the regular Civics, not the Si. It was clarified in the video.
4:30 mans ran a stop sign😂😂💀
Fun fact those cars are made in Canada
Yep! They're built in Alliston, Ontario along with the CR-V and I think the regular civic
The Type R of the last two (or three) generations were built in the UK as well. Talk about a 'global' car.

Damn you really putting out content! Got to know you from caleb and I really enjoy your videos!
I'd wayyyy rather coupe any day
Love that color
The passenger seat is the one that slides forward not the driver side
The best looking Civic gen
Beautiful color
10:30 incorrect. I own a facelifted 09 si coupe. The facelift was for 09-11
How old does the general dash design look?
I bet 3 of those this yr only with my 1.6 4 cylinder Verloster Turbo 201 hp on my channel
I have a 86glx with a NA-t setup and a 08 civic haha (not si) cheers
Have the exact car 2010 honda civic si
What year had an automatic SI???
They never made an automatic si
Theres not a single automatic si or type r ever made 😂
So Hondas aren't as reliable anymore?
FWD S2000 :)
Coupe are lighter than sedan but sedan has a stronger engine ongg
They have the exact same engine.
Hit like if you would watch the shooting cars movie
the sedan looks like a bean on wheels
I personally thought the 8th gen sedans looked a little weird.
It looks like a door wedge
1st
Oh, wow, congrats!
Ok am gone buy 2 couple 2 sedan
