- Today I took my own personal car out for a review, my 2007 civic si which I've owned for a little over a year now, and is my 3rd civic si, I think this car is arguably one of the best bang for your buc car out there in 2019. its reliable, quick, doesn't look half bad and is extremely comfortable to drive! also 30+ mpg's whats not too love!

I daily drive the 2010 SI Sedan. Fun cars man. I connect a bluetooth device to my aux to make the car bluetooth. My fav dash indeed with that speedo tier. Like you said, it is so simple.
I did the Bluetooth as well! the car just works!
@@ChuckyWright Simply amazing!
Same I absolutely love my 2010 Si it looks better than the modern ones in my opinion
Just rolled over 100k in my fg2. Bought it at 57k miles and I like it more than the Gti I owned when I was younger. Very fun cars, im planning on buying another one in a few years!
I also own an 8th gen Civic in the Philippines. 2009 Honda Civic 2.0S (equiv to your SI). I love the driving experience, man. It's only got 45k miles and drives like new.
Had a 2010 si coupe with only 49k kms sold it got a gti lost money on maintenance and now I’m back looking for another. If your young and want an enthusiast car but don’t have the budget to maintain one get a civic si.
couldn't agree more
124,000 miles that’s nothing for that car take good care of it. Mine has 251,000 and still runs great.
Just surpassed 130,000 miles so far. Awesome to see others still going strong
Karen Gia mine has like 271,000 miles ac compressor went out but easy repair.
128,000+ miles and still going strong. Been using Royal Purple (10W30) HMX High Mileage Synthetic engine oil. iVTEC.. do you?
Do you guys use super unleaded and what’s your mpg?

216 wheel hp is a lot for that year Si. I’d be surprised if my Ap2 S2k with flash pro has more hp. And yeah a SC would be awesome.
kraftwerks kit is where its at in my opinion. but ya that's what the dyne jet read 60k miles ago
Would be nice if you could post a link to the document that shows the results of your (presumably) dyno, via google docs or just print screen here.
It’s not 216 wheel hp….it’s 216 hp to the crank.
@@Fr33man1988Going full bolt on with a solid pro tune[not flashpro basemap] can get you 220whp.
Adding cams will get you to about 230ish whp
Not sure why you don't believe that. It's kind of common knowledge.
You want more than 230whp you'll need head work for the more aggressive cams.
You want anything more than 250whp you'll need block work as well or forced induction.
@@Kdubz_Auto_HVACI think you replied to the wrong person lol. I was just correcting his original comment. I’m not arguing you can add power to it lol. I don’t have a dog in this fight…I drive a 470whp 5.0.
I skipped the Si stage and went for the 2020 Type R but I’m still interested in getting an FA5. Love the 4 door look. I had a 2007 Civic coupe.
ive had both and can confirm the Fa5 has my heart
I have a 2010 SI, it’s lovely
How's the interior 'stink' when idling being catless?
Only reason I've avoided the catless Skunk2 Alpha header is the fumes.
Hondata lowering the Vtec to 4300rpm makes sense😊
More linear through out the powerband.
Daily driving, do you miss the 6000rpm vtec hit as opposed to it coming in @4300rpm smoothly up to redline?
You might have swayed me to go Skunk2 Alpha header and Invidia Q300 catback exhaust 😂
doesn't make any noise
@@ChuckyWright huh? That doesn't answer any of my questions 😞
I appreciate the video man! Looking into something *exactly* like this..
Well, at least he knows how to drive, nice review!
Thanks!
The combo of bolt-one’s really make that VTECH sound mean..
Rocket boosters. FIFY
Got a 08 civic si. Clutch took a crap and replaced it last year. Gonna repaint it since the az heat gave it bad sun damage. An keep her until the motor goes. I’ll probably hit 300k mileage this year.
easily
Thinking of getting a 08 civic si with 231,000 miles on it .. is it adviseable?... I saw one for about $3,999
@@okechukwuchima1105 not a terrible price. Take it to a mechanic
Hey guys! So I’ve found this great looking 2007 Civic Si sedan but it has 180k miles on it for $5700 and been in a low impact accident on driver side door. The car fax said it had 6 owners, it’s passed multiple safety tests when being resold, and also kept up with oil changes fairly well (around every 3000 - 4500). I’ve never bought a civic si before and I’ve always loved the 8th gens since I was a kid. I’m also looking to replace my other car that’s crapped out on me. I just want something reliable and easy to maintain and won’t break the bank when I need to get it repaired. I’m already in a hole I don’t need another issue. Just want some of y’all’s opinions. What do y’all think? Should I buy?
all i can say is these cars are truly amazing all around!
Tomorrow i Buy a honda Civic 2008 si sedan, the same color! Thanks for your vídeo!!!
You did a 13.5 at 101mph? Impressive man. Hope you posted that
I did not b ut it was a quick car
He never posted the 'timeslip' because he never ran a 13.5 😂
These also competed with the sentra ser spec v at the time. Those were torquey little things!
yeah they really are!
My 07 Fiji Blue Pearl FA5 has 109K on it. Always garage kept. And a 2015 Si coupe 48k on it.
Your crossover sounds Mean. Just got a 2011 Si, I didn’t realize it before I bought it but.. it won’t go into second gear unless I’m under like 5,500-6000rpm. All others are fine. Is that a big expense problem to fix? Also I noticed it’s definitely not like butter rowing through the gears. It’s just, not that. I mean if I time it just right and grab it just right I can make it smooth, but with yours it seems more effortless. Mine feels more like my ‘98 Jeep 5MT when going into gears. Like it’s not baaad, but again definitely not “buttery” smooth. Is that also a big problem to fix? I don’t mine spending $500-$1k to fix it, I just don’t know what needs fixing, and would want the performance equivalent to whatever that thing is, and don’t know what that would be either.. hopefully the answer does not involve pulling the transmission at a cost of like $1,500-$2k... thoughts? Cheers
message me on insta @superchuckcw
Had same issue my cousin installed a hybrid racing clutch master cylinder also trans fluid with amsoil and fix the pro cheers
Did you get a third gear chirp on that first dig from the “drag strip light”? Didn’t here one on the second.
Daily driver 2006 si fully stock and it has the rev hang, 3rd gear problems, and fucked up paint job. Lol but I still love the car. How hard was it to boar it out and put the j35 on?
not hard at all machined it at work, their forums for the specs on how to do it.
@@ChuckyWright thank you sir that helps a lot. I'm pretty good with a wrench but I feel weird about doing stuff to something I drive my daughter around in. Lol
fair enough!
@@ChuckyWright if I was to do that and I dont have a flash pro would it just f stuff up?
not really but you wouldn't reap its full benefit.
My 06 coupe is the civic that finally caught my eye...
Love these car vids
they are fun to do!
Did you add the fog lights? I’m looking at an 08 for sale and it doesn’t have them. Were they not standard equipment?
I added them
@@ChuckyWright Nice looks awesome! One more question, does the steering whee telescope out?
@@jacebrooklyn yes sir
I'm six feet tall, and 240 pounds. Should I get a coupe or sedan? Which is easier for me to get in and out of?
sedan 100%
I have a bmw x5 4.8is and still considering this 🤣
How does the accelerator feel like? Like its extended way down to the floor like what trucks have. Hows the rear seat legroom too.
this might be my starter car but what also i had in mind is a Subaru Forester XT, hmmmmmm
those are awesome as well!
@@ChuckyWright yea
I got an 08 Lexus IS350 and as I love it as a daily, I want a manual and the SI is a really good price for a second car. Also just want to be able to have an IS and an SI :)
id take a SI over is350 ive had a 2014 is350 and i like the older si more
@@ChuckyWright yeah but the older IS350 is lighter and quicker (better gear ratio, 6 speed. Also I only paid like 11k for my 350 at 80k miles so I can justify having both the SI and the IS. Both bargains in my book
Is it the galaxy gray metallic paint color ?
Question for you or anyone who has a 8th gen si. How can you get it to redline at 9,000rpm instead of 8,000rpm and also, does this car even make any power up there?
Hondata
@@natron6992 I see. But does it make any power up there?
Al Cronolexus shi idk😂
Max power is in the 6000 just noise at top of tach
@@kevinwhiting8391 Got it, thanks.
Make more civic vids!
What front lip is that??
HFP
Is possible to swap the dashboard to the later model? - for head unit upgrade
yeah it is!
What type of gas do you run this Car on?
premium
The cmc is going to go bad, get a oem new cmc, there updated to specs and you not going to get grinds
I sold the car
Great vid
thanks man!
Where’d you get your front splitter
car id
if thats got a tow hook i approve
it does
It competes against the Mazdaspeed 3
yes it does
It's a high end go cart
Someone selling civic just like this one for 4500k thinking about getting it soon
buy it
Thank you
That's a stock upper torque mount bud
Constructive criticism - people just wanna hear the nice original vtec noise, no talk nothing
fair enough
How many mpg goes it get?
33
Why does everyone put those dumb visors on the side windows?! It’s like every corvette owner has tinted tail lights.
nice civic si daily drive ok
Bruh that x song remix
It would a cheap drive to work car beater, while a WRX would be garage kept
I’d beat up the wrx civic is nicer
