When I was 24 I couldn’t stand Sinatra and his style of music , now I’m 74 and I really appreciate it , love it really .
I love it too, I didn’t like it when I was a kid and through my twenties and mid 30’s. I did like old music from the 50’s but didn’t get into the show tune. I started listening to all the crooners in my mid 30’s.
I started loving his music when I saw a TV mini-series on him in 1992. I was in my late 30s. Then I watched a documentary on him and got to see several of his live performances in that. I became a fan but only of certain parts of his career.
@@324cmac I was born in Hoboken New Jersey same town as Frank Sinatra so people just assumed I was a fan . Well he was born in 1915 and I was born in 1950 so no the age difference was too great . I was Beatle and rolling stone fan among other rock music but years later like now I like his stuff .
Same for me. I listened to the whole album at a friend's house and wow, it changed my mind about Frank! I'm a 64 yo fan now!
Same here
"It Was A Very Good Year" is my favorite!
"Im in the Autumn of my years." The song is fantastic but also sad. Melancholic
YES!!
Polo has some well rounded musical tastes.
Sinatra was a master of phrasing and vocal control.
You’ll love his version of “My Way”, another song of self-validation. He ruled his era like Elvis his & the Beatles theirs. Great music lives on. ✌️❤️🎶
I love Sinatra and was going through his catalog in my mind. I landed on "My Way" very quickly. I'd say it's a must for Polo! Excellent choice!
“My Way”, yes! “To say the things he truly feels & not the words of one who kneels”…right on!
Sid Vicious does a silly version of My Way, but it caused me to listen to the Sinatra version
The studio version with the backup singers is even better.
By. Far
I prefer studio versions above all else!
If I want live, then I’m gonna be there live!
The exception is YES’s live version of Paul Simon’s “America”!!
I’ve heard it said that America is now YES’s song.
Like any other guy, I became a legal adult at 18. I got a job, worked, and have been self-sufficient for nearly three decades.
However, I never really "felt" like a man until I learned to appreciate Frank Sinatra.
🎉😮
I was fortunate enough to see Frank Sinatra perform in the late 1970s at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. It was an incredible show with a full orchestra. His music makes me remember a different time and a different life and something that I will always cherish. Thank you for presenting this.
No retakes or miming when Frank was around, they were the REAL DEAL😊
A glass of fine whisky, a good cigar and Ol' Blue Eyes on wax makes for a mighty fine evening of deep thinking.
His phrasing is insanely good
Masterful.
SINATRA was known as the voice. He commanded a room like nobody else. Listen to My Way at Madison square garden and OLD MAN RIVER in 1946 when he was 18 to hear what his voice can do....I saw him several times...he made lots of songs with Nelson Riddle and his orchestra and one of his finest is SINATRA AT THE SANDS with Count Basie and his orchestra
Yeah, and the movie, 'The Great Ziegfeld', was one of the top musicals from the Golden Age of Hollywood and MGM. The cake scene especially takes the cake!
Definitely two of his best performances. Polo definitely should react to them.
A great album that really shows Frank Sinatra’s chops as a jaxz singer is “Sinatra-Basie:An Historic Musical First”, recorded in 1962. Lots of old-school stsndards sung as only Sinstra could sing them.
A great live album is “Sinatra at the Sands”, where he is also acclaimed by The Count Basie Orchestra; check out Come Fly With Me, Fly Me to the Moon, It Was a Very Good Year, and My Kind of Town.
I only really started to appreciate Sinatra about five or ten years ago, I’m 65 right now and he was always “old people’s music” to me. I now know that those old folks were pretty darn wise, and pretty hip, too.
Oh, I got that Ziegfeld movie confused with the one Frank sang Old Man River in.
Frank is the best!
Frank singing New York, New York
Frank was THE MAN! No nonsense, some might say brusk, but he earned his nickname of Chairman of the Board! A great entertainer, let alone a great singer! Thank you Polo! Peace!
The wonderful big bands play such a huge part in the impact of this music. Frank played with the best.
So did Nelson Riddle, it’s why Linda Ronstadt sought him out why she decided she wanted to do an album of mid 20th century classics.
Linda could sing any style Music!!
Sinatra was not only the voice of a generation, he was an Oscar winning actor for From Here to Eternity. He really was The Chairman of the Board.
Sinatra was a surprisingly good actor.
He’s also praised for the movie, “the golden arm”. It’s about an heroin addict.
Frank owns this song like Fort Knox owns gold .
There is no gold in Fort Knox heh heh.
My mom was a big Frank fan. Every Sunday was 4 hours of Sinatra. Im happy that 40 years later i remembered all of the words!❤
What a good idea 💡 4 hours of Sinatra on Sundays. Sets a person up for a positive week.🎉❤🎉❤
THANKS for the idea 🤔🙋🏼♀️🙂
Polo --- Frank Sinatra is one of the best performers ever. His voice is insane and he always has the best musicians backing him up.
You will definetly go down a rabbit hole listening to his music. Please react to more of this legend
That song, and Sinatra, were emblematic of the era and the American mindset. Men were men and we learned, early on, that no matter how hard we were hit, walk it off. We expected life to be hard and relished the good times. I think this attitude is lost now. It's a damn shame.
Yes exactly.
That's all true.
Men were men? And what are they now, zebras?
@lunadyana3330 Testosterone levels have dropped a lot. As a result, many men now think they're women.
@@sherryzmezzo 😂
He was the best of the “crooners”. Started in the 50’s and never stopped. Not only a fantastic singer but an actor and dancer. A true legend
Actually, the started out in the '40s with the Tommy Dorsey band.
🎼Sinatra recorded “That’s Life” in 1966 on his album That’s Life. It became his signature song.☮️
🎼Do Dean Martins “Everybody Loves Somebody” from 1964. (now I’ll be singing it for a couple of days!)☮️
PERFECT!!! I love Dean and that whole Era. Another one of the "rat pack" that's truly legendary.
Frank was the epitome of cool, then and now. Sexy for the ladies and the men recognized that too! I think he was the beginning of the times, 60 years ago, that white singers noticing they could sing like the black "cool" singers they were discovering.
Dino? Check out "Ain't that a Kick in the Head" best arrangement and smooth as always vocals.
Love "Fly Me To The Moon, and Sentimental Journey" by Frank.BTW Frank had an acting career and was an Oscar award winner for Best Supporting Actor in the movie From Here To Eternity.
Fly me to the moon is a great suggestion!
A Legend for at least 50 Years.
Frank was the GOAT!
“Fly Me To The Moon” is probably my favorite, but also “New York, New York” and “My Way”. Check out the Rat Pack (Frank, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and more).
A great job of understanding the song and the man. Frank Sinratra was and still is one of the best.
Sinatra's #1 hits spanned a range from the 1930's into the 1970's.
This the blues, done by a guy who probably never experienced the blues. It's great performance by the best male vocalist of the last century
Thank you Polo for this video. I haven't heard this for a very long time. I'm going through an extremely difficult time right now and hearing this song bolsters me to keep on pushing. Thank you again!!!
Music is powerful. Hang in there, Mary!
Sorry to hear about your extremely difficult time Mary. I've gone through so many difficult times in the last few years with my Mom and my big sister both dying. Life is so tough and we have to bolster ourselves and 🎶"pick ourselves up and get back in the race"🎶 just like Frank says.
Also the Bible's message holds out so much hope for us for a positive outcome.
I hope whatever you're going through you're relying on God's word to bolster you for a positive future now and in the future the Resurrection by the Christ. ACTS 24:15, JOHN 5:28,29🎉❤
Sincerely TAMI ⚔️ PROVERBS 27:17 ⚔️
You have support here Mary. Hope things settle down for you soon.
@@itsmommy100 Thank you.
@@tamitatangoto5134Thank you
Ahhhh, Frank Sinatra, The Chairman of the Board!
Don't forget.. Old Blue Eyes
You nailed it! Great review.
Frank is one of those guys that every guy wishes he was personal friends with. A very generous and loyal friend to those he knew.
Wishes he WAS!
You should react to My Way.
Wrapped in class is a good way to describe Sinatra's music.
I've been a fan for many years and I've heard it said that he could go 6 bars without a breath. Personally, I think it's more because you never see him draw in a breath, Amazingly gifted singer
My Aunt Stella was a huge fan of Frank Sinatra. I spent many nights at her house, playing cards, drinking coffee and talking about everything. All done with Frank's music playing in the background. I've grown up loving his music and admiring the class and artistry with which he performed. It makes me feel nostalgic and makes me miss my Aunt Stella so much.
Love your story. Would have loved to have met your aunt.
Marie Bishop,.. thank you for the story about your Aunt Stella.
My aunts uncles and parents are all gone now. A reminder that my time is getting closer by the day.
2022 saw five of my close family members die....
Without the hope and the confidence and faith in God's word the Bible I would be shout out😢
But I do have that belief that the Bible's words will come true just like it says.
Isaiah 55:10, 11 tell us that "God's word does not come back to him without result."
ACTS 24:15 and JOHN 5:28, 29 tell us that God will RESURRECT The Dead through his son Christ Jesus in the near future "when the earth is cleansed of the wicked we will see it. And the righteous and meek will inherit the earth and live forever on it."
Psalm 37: 9-11,22,29,34🎉❤
So there's an opportunity there for you to see your aunt Stella again. 💞🙋🏼♀️
What were your favorite things about her?
@@maryrosekent8223 , she was smart, resourceful and independent. Even when I was a little girl, she never talked down to me like the other adults did. She had a great sense of humor and when she loved you, she was your biggest champion. And she absolutely despised nicknames. She believed you should be called by your real name. She's been gone since 1984, but I still see and hear things all the time that remind me of her.
I saw Frank Sinatra several times over the yesrs in Las Vegas and I saw him in Vancouver, B.C. in both August 1976 and again in April 1986 (he was 71 at thst time), each time I saw him, he was perfection. So much stage presence, so much charm and charisma, and he knew exactly what his voice was capable of as he aged, and he adjusted accordingly. Bar none, the best "singer performer" I have ever seen. Can't saw which of his legendary tunes is my favourite, absolutely love them all.
"I Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry" -- so very awesome!
Francis Albert. The Chairman of the Board. Ol' Blue Eyes. If you're of a certain age you have lowered the lights in the living room, put Frank on the turntable and cuddled up with your significant other while Frank sealed the deal for you. Listen to The Way You Look Tonight and you can just feel the power of the band behind him. One for My Baby (and One More for the Road) starts with just a piano accompanying Frank as he tells a bartender about a broken live affair and ends with the band easing in for the finish. And, actually, the Johnny Fontaine character in The Godfather was based on Sinatra.
Oh yes. These songs bring back some beautiful memories.
I love, love, love _One For My Baby._
I have always been a huge Sinatra fan and was fortunate enough to see him in concert in Chicago in 1994. It was one of his final appearances and though his voice wasn’t what it had been it was the most amazing experiences of my life. The is no one like him.
One of a kind
You have to admit when someone has talent. Frank was full of talent and charisma
Think you’re right Polo. My mom always said, “this too shall pass”. Franks delivery is amazing. First time I’ve heard that version, and I love it! 7:55 Thanks man!
Mr. Polo,
Looking at your face watching Sinatra makes me happy. Feel good forever! My father always said, “Sinatra is in a class by himself.” I love ❤️ you Pol0.
“Nancy” is also a must listen, Polo! Such a beautiful piece, masterfully sung and delivered by the one and only Frank Sinatra.
Frank Sinatra, man. He never put a foot wrong. Unsurpassed.
I love this track. His music always reminds me of my Grandfather.
Shawn James does the best cover of this you'll ever hear btw.
One of my favorites, I've made a few people pretty angry sending this song when they weren't on top of their game.
The world keeps turning.
☕🐝🇺🇸
Classy performer, classy reaction.
His daughter, Nancy Sinatra had a few hits of her own in the late 1960’s, including a duet with her daddy Frank, “Something Stupid.”
“These Boots Are Made for Walking.” This song came out when I was 11, and I already owned a pair of white go-go boots, which I wore with a straight shift dress with a Mondrian print sewn on it. I was the _BOMB_ in that getup!
I kept hearing the backup singers in my head, in all the places they're so sorely missing in this version/performance.
Mr. Sinatra was always good but it's the studio version that's so famous & beloved & the backup singers are a big part of it. I hope you listen to it and/or put it on your playlist.
Thanks, Polo. Frank was of my parents' era but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate him. What a talent & legend. Hope you do more!
"The Best Is Yet To Come" and "The Summer Wind" are classics & worth checking out.

Saw Frank Sinatra in Concert and He was Just as Personable and Vocals Wow! I knew good music at 13! I saved my allowance.
Such a Fantastic Classic Classy Vibe🎶
Since you liked this you should try the rest of the
"Rat Pack".😊
Wow! What a selection! Fantastic! 🥰 Looking forward to more!
The King of Swagger !!!! You would love his live performance of Luck Be A Lady Tonight. Thanks for reacting to the Chairman of the Board. 👏👏🥰
Frank always said he was just a Saloon Singer. Frank was also part of he famous "Rat Pack" with Errol Flynn, Nat King Cole, Mickey Rooney, Frank Sinatra and others who met casually at the Holmby Hills home of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. In the 1960s, the group featured Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, and (before falling out with Sinatra in 1962) Peter Lawford.
I think you’d really enjoy “New York New York” by Frank near the end of his career. He still had it!
Great reaction POLO!! "Ol' Blue Eyes" as he was called was my dad's favorite singer. I grew up listening to my dad's collection of Frank's music. Sinatra was also known as being part of "The Rat Pack" which included entertainers in the 1950s and 1960s comprising primarily Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. They were an informal group of entertainers, the second iteration of which ultimately made films and appeared together in Las Vegas casino venues. Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories!
Wow, your comments were spot on with me! Never thought I would like a Frank Sinatra song. Today was my day! Thank you
Frank is The Man. And everyone knew what it meant to be a man. Respect.
Had to edit for Sammy and Dean!
Polo, wait until you discover the Rat Pack❤❤❤
This is pure and simple unadulterated talent, and the message is relevant from generation to generation. It’s timeless, and that makes it a classic. ❤
Mom heart love. Great pick !!!
CHILLS: EVERY TIME!! He is JUST SO GOOD!! GREAT rabbit hole to dive into, Polo!! ENJOY! THANKS for the AWESOME REACTIONS!!
This was the stuff mom and dad listened to Nat king Cole frank and Dino oh and Peggy Lee wonderful crooners…love it
I love Peggy Lee.
Loved your reaction. That song has gotten me through many tough times in my life. I loved your description of masculinity and class. That summed up Sinatra perfectly. Fly me to the Moon is another one of my favorites. Enjoy your Sinatra journey. He was one of a kind.
I just looked up reactions to Frankie.. and you came up first.. My Daddy's birthday in heaven is 6 minutes from now.. my Daddy loved Frank Sinatra.. thank you for your reaction..
Pure talent!
His phrasing and breath control are legendary.
You should do 'My Way" by Frank, it even makes this one pale in comparison. Frank puts his whole soul into it.
Ol'Blue eyes...one of the best "crooners" ever!!😊🎶 Dive deep!!🎶❤
Thank you so much for this one !
The Hammond organ in this version is amazing.
If God was a singer…if you don’t believe me, keep listening.
He was nicknamed Chairman of the Board!
He’s ICONIC!!!
Enjoyable reaction.
Love him.
One of my faves….the best is yet to come.
One of the best opening lyrics ever… “out of the tree of life, I just picked me a plum.”
When my daughter was about 3, I had one of his CDs in the car & she was belted out his song from the backseat.
Her rendition of “luck be a lady” was participle hilarious.
Frank Sinatra was my Dad's fav. He enlisted in WWII at 17, amphibious force in the Pacific Theatre. He used to do fake sports casts on the ship. Whole baseball games! He sang like Frank so he did that too. Miss him. Best man I ever knew. Chris Cornell learned about control by listenening to Frank. True story
Thx Polo
Thanks for your openness and featuring such a variety artists.
A Sinatra Classic , I have some many of his Classic, "Come Fly with Me" " Summer wind" " All the Way" "Cycles" " I Got you under My Skin" " The Lady is a Tramp" and much more.
Polo, your openmindedness to the different genres of music is incredible ♡
I listen to a Sinatra song, and I'm instantly transported back to when I was a kid, riding around with my dad, windows open, and him belting out Sinatra songs with such relish and abandon.
My Parent Loved Sinatra .. And he was a pretty actor to
Love your interpretation of the song, it helps ... Hope your day is great
Thanks for doing this. I asked you to listen to Frank a couple weeks back. So glad you appreciate him.
No doubt one of the all time greats!
I love Frank his music is great ❤
I was born under the Nixon Administration, and did NOT grow up in a household that listened to Frank. That was my wife, who introduced me to him. He's not in my regular playlist, but when he's on - I find myself turning up the volume.
One of my all time favorite songs! Actually discovered it from a Tiny Hawk Pro Skater game😂
Slow dancing, cheek to cheek and a great crooner... Ahhh.
My Daddy's favorite singer.. Daddy would have been 83 today.. Happy Heavenly Bday Daddy.. My Daddy should have died at 42.. I was blessed to have him till he was 67. RIP
Polo you can be a light to others man
one of my fav songs of all time
I loved him as l got older.He is the man.Miss you Mr.Sinatra❤
Right on!! ❤❤
Polo polo polo tell me you have never heard this 🤦♀️ he's the best !
Great reaction. 😊
This is so amazing, I have hardly the words lol Thanks POLO
What most people don’t know about him was he was an a quiet generous man. In his years living in Palm Springs he read their daily paper if someone lost a spouse or financial hardship, Frank sent money, paid their debt or mortgage and they were strangers he gave anonymously.
