Truth is amazon never intended for low and no content, it was a hack, Ingramspark and other publishing platforms have banned them and amazon is closing so many accounts out of the blue related to them. Just compare termination rates of low content vs high content and you'll see it's likes 95 to 5%

You’re spreading false hope. KDP is not as easy as it sounds. If you have no design skills and make a bookcover, it will scream amateur and nobody will buy the book. Research is not a guarantee for sales. The sales will not fall from the sky. You have to advertise and you spend a lot of money on ads. This is not a true-to-reality video. I know because I’ve been publishing books for 3 years and my sales are far from 4000 a month!

I can only imagine how many coloring books there are going to be out there now :))) I think we should all start making RUclips videos "how to make xyz and make $5k a month" you don't need to make anything, just one time video that can be making you $5000 a month over and over by telling others and giving others false hopes. It's a time consuming process, takes a lot of research, takes a lot of marketing! That is not talked about in this video :))

I’m with you on that! I fell for it too, only it was selling on Etsy. So I did open a shop, and I still have it, but no way am I earning $4000 a month! A good month for me selling stickers is $400! The thing that no one talks about is how hard it is to market your product! Doesn’t matter how many research u do beforehand, how beautiful and good quality ur product is, if u don’t know how to market? You ain’t getting nothing!! And that’s the challenge! If u don’t have a business background or have no creative juices to do reels on instagram or tiktok, or doesn’t know how to post engaging instagram posts, feed, or story or can’t even take a good aesthetic picture for ur product, forget it!! If u have extra money to spend, hire someone who can or forget the idea altogether! There, that’s the TRUTH!
It's an 11-minute video. Anyone with half a brain knows 1) she can't cover every aspect. She did say you have to research and market properly. The presumption for most people would be to keep digging and find out what all is involved. 2) $4k actually isn't unreasonable IF you're willing to do the work.

2:18 - Wait. Hold up. 🛑 Why doesn’t anyone talk about the COST of printing the book via Amazon? That example of the inspirational coloring book selling over 600 books/month at the price of $6.77 doesn’t equate to them earning over 4K/month. Not only does Amazon take a big percentage of each sale, they also charge a hefty fee for the cost of making your book. And after Amazon takes their percentage, plus the cost of printing, you are left with about 30% of the sale! These people making these videos need to keep it 💯 and stop trying to sell bs to people. Be all the way honest about the entire process and facts! There’s no way that person is making a livable profit. Probably no profit at all. Keep it a buck.
Good point - Sandra should have mentioned it. But if you are a least slightly familier with any kind of PoD and distribution then you'll know that after fee's, costs and the biggie, tax, you'll only get to keep a small percentage.
I think there are many other videos on here that explain the pitfalls. For me it's all about getting 2-4 side hustles, going for large volumes and hopefully it'll all equate to a decent full time salary on the side after 6-12 months of putting the hours in.
But the video definitely should at least mention this, if only briefly.
Ansd this is the first vid of her's I've watched. So I would hope in the longer more detailed videos she explains the fee's, costs & profits.
so one thing I notice with a lot of these videos is titles and then people using best sellers as example instead of their own sales. Do you have your own sales showing 4k a month in sales?
If she did she wouldn't be making this video. I'm guessing most of her money comes from the affiliate links in the description.

My biggest concern about creative fabrica is that if you cancel your subscription you are no longer allowed to sell any product with those designs.
You can still sell the products you already made with the design. You are just no longer allowed to create NEW products with those images after you cancel your subscription.
But if you don’t have a subscription and just pay per download, then you can make however many products you want with those images (as long as they don’t give a particular amount for that image. Like it says that the license is good for 1000 products before you have to rebuy that image license.) but I believe most, if not all, images on Creative Fabrica let you use the images however many times you want to after you pay the one time fee.

No spiral binding isn’t provided by Amazon currently. I use lulu books for spiral binding

However, to be clear, the way I understand it from the KDP website, "KDP offers a fixed 60% royalty rate on paperbacks sold on Amazon marketplaces where KDP supports paperback distribution. Your royalty is 60% of your list price. We then subtract printing costs, which depend on trim size, page count, ink type, and the Amazon marketplace your paperback was ordered from.
(Royalty rate x list price) - printing costs = royalty
For example, your list price is $15. Your book is a 333-page regular trim size paperback with black ink sold on the US marketplace:
(0.60 x $15) - $5.00 = $4.00"
At the 2.25 minute mark in the video, it is stated that if a book is sold for $6.77 and 631 books are sold, that would generate "$4,271.87 in passive income". That is not what the author receives. I have books on KDP that are listed at $6.99 each. When one sells, my royalty is 60% of that which is $4.19 then $2.84 is subtracted for printing costs, which leaves me with a payout of $1.35. If I sold 631 books monthly, KDP would pay me $854.38 for those sales. That is pretty awesome, and I hope my books will all sell that many each month, but it is not $4,271 to me for 631 sales.
Remember that the IRS will see $4,272 worth of income, the rest is expenses that are deductible to your business. Your Profit is $854. It's just like your 9-5 paycheck. You get $3,000 and your net check is $2,200 after all your deductions (or in this case expenses.). Hope this makes sense. I would be happy with the ~$800 extra a month!!

Hi Sandra, any advice on how to get KDP to reinstate my account. It all of a sudden closed for content violation but they would not tell me which book and I did my due diligence and researched for trademarks too. I had a total of 4 books- 3 low content and 1 medium content coloring book created on Canva.
I can't say for sure, but I've been under the impression that Canva has changed their policies recently, unless I just misunderstood them all along (but I've found a number of people that have noticed the same thing). They seem to exclusively be limiting the commercial use of graphics from their site in all digital or POD products, regardless of whether or not you pay for a Canna Pro account. In my opinion, it makes it questionable as to what value Canva actually offers other than for advertising purposes since nothing can be used to be sold anymore (or like I said, maybe I've just misunderstood for years, but I don't think that's how their policies used to be). Anyway, if you're using Canva to create, then there's a chance that's why your content got flagged. 🤷♀
I like this channel and find a lot of useful info in your videos but am surprised to see you are still recommending low content kdp. Everyone else is abandoning it. Not just because the low content niche is now hopelessly oversaturated but also because as the name suggests it has very little added value, if any. It's now considered a thing of the past, and amazon is suspending accounts by the hundreds. Quite frankly it's hard to believe you can make a single sale these days competing against the other 150k sellers trying to dump their empty books on someone.
i think this is more medium, not low content. low content is like books with ruler lines on the pages.
Hello Sandra, thanks so much for your videos that are so helpful. I know that when you use the images from Creative Fabrica you have to modify them in order not to have license/copyright problems. Is putting a quote or a writing over them like you did in your coloring book enough (to avoid license issues), or did you also have to modify the Creative Fabrica images as well?
My other question is: in terms of book creation do you find that Book Bolt is superior to Canva (not considering the trend selection, but only focusing on its book creation functions). Thanks
Canva is a thousand times better than Book Bolt in creating books. It is fast and easier
I personally find Book Bolt better because they come with pre-made templates for you and the measurements are compliant with KDP standards, but honestly both are great!! Create Fabrica just requires that you modify the original image so that they can't be "extracted" by third parties. So putting quotes over top achieves that :) Hope that helps!

@@shafiq_ramli I’ve had one sale in 2 years. The reality is you have to put in a lot of time and effort to promote your book(s). You can do it yourself for free on social media or pay for advertising. I will not pay for advertising as a beginner. It’s counterproductive. I’m trying to make passive income, not spending money. And in the beginning creating my books took many hours.

They're lying
100% they are saturated, but there is still demand. So it's either creating something better that already exists and advertising it to get sales, or finding a hungry niche with less competition. Both are possible, but it can be a bit of pot luck and it takes a lot of work!

Choose "I own the copyright" that is the right choice. .public domain is for public domain books that you re-publish with changes this is a whole other publishing model that you can research but is not applicable to most books.

Hi Sandra! I have a question about Book Bolt: how accurate is the Amazon Search Volume (which is in the last month, right?) for a particular keyword? For example, on Book Bolt I find a keyword with 20000-30000 AMZ Search Volume and 800 results on AMZ. I doubt that I found the golden ticket for that keyword so I`m wondering if the AMZ search volume results are actually accurate? Also, for keywords that AMZ is giving me in the search bar - which would be the most searched for, right? - i find 1000-2000 AMZ search volume on book bolt. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there! I decided on 50 pages because many similar books offered that :) take a look at similar books within your niche and see what they're offering. That will help!
That is a very basic thing of doing business though. You shouldn’t be thinking that you’re going to be taking the entire price you listed your book for home. 30% profit margin isn’t bad either. Yes, most RUclipsrs show you the revenue money earned, which would be the $4k a month. That isn’t wrong. But you need to account for the price to print the book AND the percentage Amazon takes from your sale for them letting you use their platform that has millions of people shopping on it, and add those things into the price you sell your book at.
So in this case, if you sold the book for $6.77 and let’s say after costs to print and Amazon fees, you’re left with the 30% like you mentioned, you would be making around $2.03 per book sold, and if you sold 600 of them, that would bring you to around $1,218 PROFIT for the month.
Could you live off of that each month? No, probably not. Which is why you need to research your niches and add multiple items in them to try to generate more high selling books to stack on top of that profit.

how can i increase the sale of my book published in Amazon
I have completed a book on commercial real estate, and I have gone through all the editing and formatting processes.
I have received an author's proof from KDP, and an author's proof from Lulu, and will be getting an author's proof from IngramSpark soon. What I need is some advice as to what print on demand company I should use, and some of the glitches that I am finding, (examples: KDP’s interior paper is too thin, my hardcover and paperback covers that were professionally formatted are not working on KDP, etc.).
I would rather have someone do all of this for me. I need to speak to a real person!

For everyone reading this hoping to get rich quick from Amazon... it isn't that easy! But it can be a rewardable side-hustle as you scale to having lots of books. I'm on 60+ published books now and still grinding away. I think you'd need at least 200+ high quality books (supported by ad spend) to be able to start thinking about making a full-time income.
