Your reaction to Iron Maiden's Rime of the Ancient Mariner was the first one I saw. No idea why it popped up in my suggestions because I generally dislike and avoid reaction videos. Can't believe that was almost 2 years ago. I've been watching ever since and have found a lot of music that I really like through your channel. I've also learned a lot of music theory that I've never really thought about before as well, and I've been playing one instrument or another for 46 years now. Thanks for the channel and congrats on 2 years :)
This first Iron Maiden reaction video was my gateway drug to all things Doug....I think you had about 3,000 subscribers at the time? Glad to see the channel has grown so much, well deserved.
You are, along with Key of Geebz and The Charismatic Voice, hands down the best Music reaction channel on RUclips precisely for the reason your brother told you: You add to what we know about these songs. It would be awesome if you could do longer, more in-depth analysis-videos about some of these songs, that are not in the typical "reaction" format, because there is so much interesting stuff to learn about the theory behind the songs we love.
I was watching your channel on my lunch breaks at work. Iron maiden was the first thing I saw. After 8 years, our office was closed, and my position was outsourced to New Jersey. Needless to say, it's been tough getting back to work. I still follow your channel. I got married last year. My wife has been a rock. She is Brazilian. I used to send her Iron Maiden songs when she was in Sao Paulo. Up the Irons. Keep up the excellent work
The video that I found Doug with. Iron Maiden Strange World still to do, and of course, Testament someday. Just think, when I started listening to Iron Maiden, Doug was 5 years old.😂. Congratulations on 2 years on RUclips. Most successful RUclips channels last 7 years, so you got at least 5 years left.

Congrats! I came in via your YES reactions and have stuck around to experience things like Iron Maiden. In the early 80's I was the designated driver for friends who were going to The Spectrum to see Iron Maiden. We had floor seats, they were toasted, and I was bored. So bored, I left the floor area and started a climb to the highest seats where I stretched out and actually napped during the show. I remember seeing "Eddie," which was neat, but that's the complete and total end of my memory of that show.
This was great! Loved hearing the backstory and thanks for the whiskey tip! Proper glass and careful sip, I can tell you are a connoisseur. I am more into Scottish and Rye but I will check it out.
Thanks for drawing attention to your doc. I've been a subscriber since sometime in 2021 and didn't know until today that kept track. I'm amazed to find that you've not reacted to any Triumph songs. They are the "other" Canadian trio and arguably as popular in their day, if not as longevic. Would love to see your take on "Fight the good fight" and/or "Lay it on the line."
I watched the original video the day you released it. I’m a huge Maiden fan and I’ve watched every reaction you do to iron maiden and a lot of the other ones you do. I’ve even told my buddy who has a masters degree in composition to watch you…and he does. For me it’s really fun as a non-musician non-composer to hear what you have to say about things because I have learned a lot and it does take me back to a time when I was younger played trumpet. Anyway I’ve seen maiden 8 times in concert most recently here in Seattle and I can’t wait to see them again. I can tell that you’ve warmed up to the potential of seeing them live. If you do, I recommend standing on the floor. Can’t match being that close and taking in the entire stage production.
Congrats, Doug! 200 followers to 270K in 2 years is incredible! Love your analysis. I really appreciate your ability to break things down for us without proper musical training. May I suggest "The Warning." 3 sisters from Mexico that are currently only 22 20 and 18. I'd like to see your breakdown of their song Disciple or Evolve.

Knowledge really has to be transmitted and this transmission has its personal mark with the ease and clairvoyance with which you speak and the ease with which you do it so makes the spectator happy, who thus learns small details that may have gone unnoticed previously. People love to know what others think about the subjects they are so grateful for. The technical research that you do behind the songs and the musicians as well as their history makes the ears of any listener prick, placing the listener in a time and space with reference... as if it were a music GPS satellite. That whiskey sounds like a good ointment to me. :) For me Fear of the dark is just the harbinger of Joy of a Spark.
I haven't seen before the Fear of the Dark reaction. Doug you are cool. But now that I found out that you like BTTF and mentioned "the first time experience of Back to the Future" and that you have seen it a dozen times...you just got cooler. Rock'n'roll !!!
Doug, I came to your channel because of the Iron Maiden reactions and I just love them. I have watched each one of them countless times. Cheers from brazil!
Thank you, Doug, for what has been a very enjoyable and educational two years! I remember watching that episode -- probably not on the day, but some days or weeks later -- and it stands up well to the test of time. There have certainly been production improvements, but the core is there. A solid foundation, indeed, upon which to build such a successful channel.
There is really only one other reaction channel I watch, and that creator is a vocalist so focuses on that. I’m not a singer and can’t hold a tune to save my live. It’s her passion that draws me in, as well as her open-mindedness to genres that aren’t her thing(she also seems to be a closet metalhead). I’m not a musician in any way(tried guitar, but I was awful even after years although I enjoyed), but there is something about the way everything comes together that just makes the neurones in my brain light up. The way you break stuff down, even though I still don’t understand it, is something I really appreciate. I don’t think you’ve even taught me anything, because I am so left-brained I can’t follow, but maybe I’m enjoying vicariously because it is something that I wish I understood more. Love your channel Doug, always look forward to new metal and rock reactions. Pretty sure I subscribed very shortly after this first episode, i was probably one of Maiden fans that “liked” it, so I’m really glad you chose that song and accidentally found a rabid fan base. And I have to say, I approve of your celebratory drink. When it come to whisk(e)y, I’m a Scotch guy, but Irish is my close 2nd choice. I’ll be taking a look and try to pick up to try. 🥃’🥃
Congrats on 2 years! I am going to also make a recommendation, just because I am interested in what you make of it, Manowar Battle Hymns. I don't think you've reacted to that band yet.
Congratulations on your two year anniversary Doug! I toasted right along with you, although I am drinking beer. I think I have been with you almost since the beginning. Your trained musical insights into the music I love are really interesting. Keep up the good work! Cheers! 🥃
Doug, I love your reactions. I also watch Virgen as well . I saw Iron maiden back in the 80's and loved it. You are spot on about your observation that you only get 1 time for the first time. As a rock climber I can relate. I only got 1 chance to "on-sight" a climbing line.
Congrats Doug!!!! Happy anniversary. Great pick. Maiden is one of my top five favorite bands. I follow them since 1980 approx. I've seen them live six times. All salad shows. Astonishing!

Congratulations Doug!🎊🎉🤘 Been watching your videos for over a year now, keep up the good work!🤘🎶🍻
Happy birthday Doug. Loved your progression to being a Metal Head ! 🤣🤣
Congratulations on the 2years. It was around that time I subscribed and have been enjoying your channel ever since. Long may it continue

Love your page Doug and i am a massive Maiden fan
Lol, so good. I loved how you agreed with yourself, positive self talk is important... 😆
Congrats on 2 years! I am going to also make a recommendation, just because I am interested in what you make of it, Manowar Battle Hymns. I don't think you've reacted to that band yet.
Congrats on 2 years!
Congratulations on your two year anniversary Doug! I toasted right along with you, although I am drinking beer. I think I have been with you almost since the beginning. Your trained musical insights into the music I love are really interesting. Keep up the good work! Cheers! 🥃
Bravo Doug! Cheers from Brazil. Long live the channel. All these stories deserves a book! What about that?????
Doug, I love your reactions. I also watch Virgen as well . I saw Iron maiden back in the 80's and loved it. You are spot on about your observation that you only get 1 time for the first time. As a rock climber I can relate. I only got 1 chance to "on-sight" a climbing line.
Congrats Doug!!!! Happy anniversary. Great pick. Maiden is one of my top five favorite bands.
I follow them since 1980 approx. I've seen them live six times. All salad shows. Astonishing!
Doug, your passion for music is contagious and i always look forward to your reactions...for 2 years now!!! And of course watching you fall in love with Maiden is the icing on the cake. Much respect and up the irons.🤟🤟🤟
Doug I just wanted to thank you for making the decision to do reaction videos. It is so nice to have a skilled professional breakdown a lot of songs I grew up with. Thanks again.
I'm proud to say that I am one of those Iron Maiden fans who who watched this within a couple of hours after it came out. Subscribed right then. It's great to be a part of the journey. Wish you all the best

Hello Mr. Helvering - or should i say hello Doug, it´s me toto from germany - i´ve been with u since nearby your starting and been not needed to comment about my broken english. But anyway - i´ll be glad u mad u´r way troughout this corona-xperience and i think we both can thank the creator to find another way to be "stay in tune" with things we love. I love the way u bring music to people in a different way - from a classic composer - this is awsome 4 me. i learn a lot from a different angle. me the creator bless u and u´r family and please don´t stop giving us more of those content. By the way - the most i like when u sitting at the piano and play along - could listen all the time. best regards 2 u and u´r family toto

Happy anniversary, Doug! I remember that first Iron Maiden reaction. Probably left some suggestions in the comments then. It's great that you're still going strong with these! 👍👍❤❤
Thank you so much for all the knowledge and joy you've brought us all, and congratulations on this anniversary for you've made some wise choices in life! Prost!🍻🤘🤘🤘
Have been watching your videos for about the last year, you do a great job and give a different perspective than most reactions out there. Congrats on you success, and thanks for the entertainment. Now I’ve got a whole new level for you to go to. Spastic Ink - A Wild Hare, highest level prog metal with music over Bambi. Think you will enjoy this one.
