James Hunt famously would be out with women every night, got absolutely shit-faced then would roll into the garage the next morning, pish behind the garages (often in full view of fans), vomit through a mixture of nerves and indulges and go on to race, which might explain his shitty record at Monaco
I don’t know if they didn’t have the same checks as they have now or if they bent a few rules for a legend line Hunt, but his blood-alcohol level would have been far too high for him to ever be allowed near a car in any racing sport today

If someone else has the same comment elsewhere, it’s very possible (and this might shock you) for more than one person to know the same thing.
In fact, if you can check my post edit history, you’ll see I originally only corrected the year. I doubted myself and went to check and that’s when I realised Hunt had failed to finish between 75-77, which I posted, then between 75-79, which I changed my post to. I then edited my post again when I continued to look and saw how poor his record was.

James was advised to put the bulk of his earnings with Lloyds of London…..who crashed with payouts to victims of great England flood, losing him, I guess 89% of his ‘hard earned’ when the Lloyds names were called to ‘front up’(come up with the readies)…..you couldn’t write it!
That’s why he was cycling to the BBC studios to earn a wage with Murray doing F1 commentaries……if I remember correctly, one of his first aired comments, at the conclusion of the race…albeit on an F2/F3 race was “ What a load of rubbish “

In 1977 Hunt has a similar coming-together with Mario Andretti at the exit of Tarzan at Zandvoort.
When I told Mario that Hunt was blaming him, Mario replied, “He’s full of shit”.
I guess it depends on where you’re sitting when these things happen . . .

Hunt won a nasty rain filled GP race. Visibility was down to 50 feet at times. During the race, he passed someone that later said hunt was going so fast, he didn't know who it was. Interviewed after the race, asked how he won, by a lot, Hunt said....bigger balls.

    Yeap.
There is a reason why they made a movie with this driver.
And there is a reason why no other F1 driver will be in any movie ever.
Although raikonen could be a good candidate.
But I guess he missed his window.
He is too old for these sits.
