- Lyrics & Information
Since SHAYMCN2's account has been closed, uploading some of his videos until he gets back for the benefit of all us fans. This comes from the band's 1975 album 'Fighting'.
Lyrics :
Wild one wont you please come home
You've been away too long, will ya?
We need you home, we need you near
Come back wild one will ya?
How can we live without your love
You know that could kill ya
And how can we carry on
When you are gone my wild one.
Oh sure you're a wild one
Oh you are a wild one
Over and over and over and over.
So you go your way, and wild one
I'll try and follow
And if you change your mind
I will be waiting here for ya tomorrow.
For I would beg for ya,
I would steal and I would borrow
I'd do anything at all, anything at all
To end this sorrow
My wild one
Oh you're a wild one!
'Cause Johnny goes a 'rolling home
[Solo]
'Cause Johnny goes a 'rolling home
There was no hope!
Wild one,
The gypsies warned of the danger
You can laugh and joke with friends
But don't you ever talk to strangers
Although their offers may be sweet
And I'd bet and I would wager
Away you'll stray and never come back
To those who love and made you
'Cause Johnny goes a 'rolling home
Away you'll stray away you'll stray
Over and over and over and over
Now what a lonely wild one! Видеоклипы
Thin Lizzy is the greatest rock and roll band of all time
I remember when phil died in 1986, I never cried over a person I didn't know personally, but when he died I cried my eyes out. I miss him sorely. RIP phil, Love your music
It really hits a soft spot in guys, things like this, doesn't it? I've not felt it yet, but I can understand
I miss that guy every damn day.
Mr. Lynott was a seriously underrated lyricist.
Thin Lizzy never made a bad record, I bought all there Albums & have them all on CD & so many were under-rated. This one of my favourites from Fighting an Album full of good songs. This should have been a single & No.1 & love the little piece @ 2.40
so true I saw them in 1978 n Germany
Agreed totally! This is THE song that got me hooked on Lizzy
Unless I'm very wrong, it was a single, but didn't chart .... If you can believe that!! 😒
TRUTH
as soon as i hear this song, i want to hear it again.
One of my very favs~about Phil s mother s feelings & thoughts as he was never home for christmas~heartbreaking but lovely~great~song~ r'i'p'~Phil Lynott~A voice that doesn't come around to often~he "talked" to ya'~and i dont even have to tell all of you the great guitarists this band produced ~insane~r.i.p.~Gary Moore~
That's what song writing is all about. Period.
Gorham and robo kill it! can't imagine the rock n roll landscape without Phil and the boys. much love moore and bell.
Singlehandedly one of the greatest bands and entertainer ever.
I am 35 years old and have heard a lot of music during my life, and just two days ago I found out about Thin Lizzy and Phillp Lynot.. I red its biography downloaded their whole music... and I am so happy cos I still have 35 years to listen to them every single day... THEY ARE:::WERE:::WILL the best... no doubts about it.
All-time classic. This video is a must for anyone who truly respects music. Phil lynott shines & thin Lizzy shines in this performance.
the one and only thin lizzy this song like most of there songs is pure greatness
I loved Thin Lizzy as a child, as a teenager, I love them now, I'll love them 'till the day I die!
Dublin's Finest! RIP Phil
Ahhhh such a charming voice. Effortless yet astounding and soulful. RIP
He was a beautiful man.
I love Thin Lizzy. I wish I had been around to see them live!!!
Second that
Scott you look high, brother...wow...the spirits protected you all.
.....HOW this band wasn't inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame YEARS ago, is one of the music industry's ENDURING mysteries.....more diverse yet consistent and, at times, innovative than ANY other harder rocking acts.....
This content is culturally significant. Posting it on RUclips will ensure that future generations will have access to it and appreciate it. Thank you for sharing it.
this is absolutely brilliant. the two les pauls with different pickups sound amazing together
I was a huge fan when Phil died, I had just bought the Thunder and lighting LP several months before his passing! A very huge loss, bigger loss than losing Bon Scott of AC/DC
For a while there I forgot how much i loved these dudes!! Glad an acquaintance of mine played this at my favorite bar the other day!!
Love this song!!! Robertson looks too cool!

It was a cool time with some great music like this song and band. If the people of the world could get along we could share the best of the world with each other.
Hey Robbo! Love the 👖! 😜
I also love that they're allowing me to upload and view some of these videos again! 👀✊
Gotdamn Legndary....
Love it
Legend for sure
I know they were popular and had and have about 7 or so songs that still get airplay including one huge hit, but in my opinion they should have been a lot bigger.
They were so original. Like a combination of the stones, bad company, Bruce Springsteen, and something entirely brand new at the time with their guitar harmonies and just next level single guitar leads, in general. Crazy.
Phil was a wild one, God bless him.
RIP ~Phi Lynott. Beautiful voice. Black, Irishman~
No. 1 most underrated song in rock history
how does this not have more views. this shits all over modern mainstream.....
I was drunk when i wrote both of those comments but hey i still stand by it :)

Rock n Roll in the old days, back then all was high on stage :-)
Thin Lizzy was one of them. Rock n Roll its all good.
Now this is what a band should look like - just superb.
Lizzy could probably be a bad ass reggae if they wanted. Any style they were just the best.
roaring youth

Huh. Clicked another Thin Lizzy song; found another awesome Thin Lizzy song. Funny how that happens.
Song for "Wild Geese", expatriate an Irish soldiers who went fighting for other countries interests, mainly during 16th to 18th century. It's about all an Irish soldiers who fought and died for anyone, except for free Ireland.
How many of you broke your theeth sitin in your bedroom gettin this solo right!
Tastey indeed!! The late 70's were guitar heaven!!!! Especialy Lizzy.
A time classic!...😥miss you Phil
I noticed that, I will with ask Downey about it, he is related to my good wife !!!, regards from Dublin
Those guitar harmonies are sublime. Soulful, heart felt lyrics. Man, that is serious musicianship there. And as for that smile of Phils at 01:56 onward - "Would any of the girls like a bit more Irish in them?" Best band ever.
Timeless.
cool song and a good year for rock (1975)
absolutt en klassiker
Brian Downey on drums,Phil on bass, Scot Gorman on guitar on lead guitar.
Sounds great on 8-track late at night.

All Thin Lizzy's Music Is Good - This Song Is An Example Of There Fine Song Writing Craft .And One Of My Favorites.
This song is about people you love who live far away and you know they are following their dreams but part of you wishes they were still here with you.
