I was born in Wolverhampton, close to where Phil was from. Was he the first black person to front a hard rock/ metal band?
@@darrelljebb4544 friggin hell I'm from west Brom stone cross I worked in Wolverhampton Wensdfield the steel park
Anyway think he may have been the first black guy to front a metal band
the 60s and 70s were the best musical years to grow up in IMHO, I was 17/18 when this hit
Lynott was a legend. Such stage presence.
Seen this amazing man and his band in the 1970s in Belfast kings Hall just down the road from me once seen never forgotten. RIP Phil sadly missed xxx 😪😘😘☘☘☘☘
Hi from Offaly ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️🪶✌️
I don't think I can ever believe that Phil is dead. He was so lively and charismatic, and it just seems like he's still out there somewhere.
He lives on in our hearts , so yeah , he IS out there somewhere ! When we remember someone who touched our heart , they live on & and we feel the warmth of their love deep in our hearts. Gone how long, but still making us smile . We mourn not their passing , but our own loss. Let's love and admire those still around & tell them what we wish we could have said.
Some quotes I love & try to live by. Keep calm & carry on...Do unto others ...Never go to bed mad at the other...Keep ya' head down & dont ever stop....Live & let live , But LOVE as if there were NO tomarrows....& my favorite ""Keep on truckin' & I'll catch you on the flip-side.''

The most important yet beautiful truth ever written and sung by such an extraordinary singer of our lifetime for those of us at least 50.
Miss you big time Phil was proud to know you & see you live so many times, you were my first Interview hun xx
❤❤Super piosenka, nigdy się nie zapomni takich hitów.... ❤❤❤❤❤
First time I heard this as a kid I couldn't believe there is just one lead guitar, amazing sound from three musicians.
Phil byłeś wspaniałym wokalistą, minęło już tyle lat od TWOJEGO ODEJŚCIA a ja ciągle zachwycam się TOBĄ
Chyba już takich więcej nie będzie… :(

Too many musicians have died that we heard in our youth and whose records we bought.
This record was one of the best in my collection.
The disadvantage that we get old is the fact that we lose more and more people until it's our turn.
That's pretty heavy for a YT comment on a rock n roll song...
It’ll come soon enough.
One of the best songs ever written
How good is this? It's one of the most heart rending songs I know, not to mention its subject! Keep flowing!
My favorite Irish song….my favorite band…listened to the song driving into Dublin on my visit to the homeland of my Irish ancestors.
Phil lynott what a super musical powerhouse ! No one knows what he went through?…but we can all acknowledge this man was one of the greatest rock superstars ever to be .., irreplaceable along with his iconic beautiful music when the world was a much better place and he helped make it that better place ! Phil I know you’re in heaven and yes! Your music lives on line it was just written yesterday!!!we all still love you and thinlizzy!!!
I was very lucky to see them live at Oxford Apollo back in the late 70's really good live band one of the best gig's I've ever been to. RIP Phil, gone but never ever forgotten.
I saw Adam and the ants there in 79
R.I.P Phil. Thanks for all the great music.
❤
I was humming this to myself on the way back from the shop, had to give it a wee listen ..... Timeless classic!!!!👍
What a band , what a time in history. So pleased I was there . Great times
I saw them in concert in Bristol in the early-mid 80s. They were absolutely fabulous.
Greatest band that ver came out of Ireland!
What I absolutely love with this song is how they manager to disguise the bloodstained message the lyrics convey in such catchy and funky lingering cascades of music.
Descobri hoje essa versão, maravilhosa.
Im a newb to Thin Lizzy. This guy had a set of pipes on him. Im impressed.
My granny used to sing this song but the words were a bit different, bless her heart ❤❤❤
I think it’s an old Irish folk song
Wer hört im Jahre 2024 noch Thin Lizzy außer meine Wenigkeit ❤🎉❤

This was one of my deceased husbands favourite songs, such talent.
Heard this song on one of my first biker meetings and it stuck in my head. Now i am 63 and learning this song front to back 😅😊🎉🎉
Saw Thin Lizzy 5 times in the 70s, never failed to deliver, brilliant. Phil Lynott sadly missed.
Right with you. It was 4 times though. Man they were great.

Bravo Greek George. God have dear Phil in His embrace
We had no telly at the time, just radio Luxembourg and I was 11 at primary school, great memories, love and best wishes from Ireland
Stunningly talented guitar play and great vocals. What a shame he (PL) passed away at such a young age, the norm unfortunately for a rock star.
God how it takes me back to a simpler time, with youth, long hair and my entire life ahead of me.
so much talent in this band. RIP Gary and Phil
Love this song, forgot all about the odd solo intro...wonderful!!! These guys brought an old Irish folk song back to life and made it cool!
This is the best version for sure.

70 is 70 the best
She tricked me easy
What a brilliant song, Every band I played in played this timeless classis and it always went down well, I always wondered why Phil wasn't to keen to play it in Thin Lizzy's live shows, Shame its a great song that always went down well when we played it,👍👍👍
They dropped most of their set list from their three-piece days, he was keen to break from that folk rock image.
1973 habe ich diesen song zum ersten mal gehört und war direkt begeistert. super song thin lizzy
Love this song as it brings back memories of Patrick my ex partner who passed away 4 years ago can't get to the end without crying 😢
Hello Lisa, how are things going with you?
