HI, @yanissmith2400, this may be because your cable power is way lower than the official need of iPad air 5? did you use the same cable the whole time?
I have to turn off my ipad mini 6 to charge it . But when my ipad open its shows charging but when i plug in and out my cable ipad stop charging. Every time i have to torn it off then it will start charging.

it doesn't metter, just press the vulome up> down > side button until the apple logo appear

I tried the reset in settings and it completely turned off again. It won't turn on at all now.

Mine only charges now with a usb-a to usb-c cord, not usb-c to usb-c. Charges fine now.

Same issue. Heated. Didn’t last more than two days . Heated again. Still doesn’t charge
