i did this along time ago and wanted to give some input. there is blow by and running the hose down towards the ground is a lot better idea imo having it up like that with a filter isn’t really great. it’s not sucking air in it’s pushing out if anything.
You don't need to do all the cutting of the plastic. You can just use a flathead screwdriver and pry up on the 4 corners as that closure has studs that snap into receiver holes. Once you gut the filter medium you can snap the piece back in place or leave it out.
Another great and informative video! Thanks man! Ive got the S&B intake coming in the mail as we speak so I can go ahead and do the CCV delete while I install the intake ! Keep the videos coming! Thanks again!

I like the video man. Lot of good info. Only question I have is does it make the check engine light come on? I wanna do the delete but didn't know if you have to program or anything afterwards or if the check engine light comes on
It's an interval trigger. I believe it (perform service) comes on at 67,500 miles. Reset the interval (key on, no start brake 2x, throttle slowly to floor 2x key off) and you won't see it for another 67,000 miles
Hey i did the ccv delete just like your vid but the truck through a service code on the filter anyway after driving for a week apparently the soot and oil is running back into the filter area not sure if it defeats the purpose or not so i opted to run a hose from the exit of cover to the bottom of the chassis to drain.
Good vid....got a question, i deleted filter but thought i messed up bec i didnt use bottom and put filter housing together before install. Did like you did, Keeps dripping oil out of breather from the delete tho. Thanks
Ron Ciofalo just remove that filter entirely top side and all. It will run without the filter fine. I found out after the video you dont need the filter at all. Just run a hose from the side of the valve cover down the frame so it can vent out and drip
EVERYTHANG DIESEL ok cool. So you do get a little drip? My ccv filter delete was dripping right on the exhaust manifold. Nothing crazy but making a mess. Thanks for the quick response bud, appreciate it!
Ron Ciofalo yeah remember exhaust gasses and fumes will come out the filter hole. Just connect a hose to it and run it down you'll be fine brother! Your welcome no problem. I used a filter because the kit came with it but I will run a hose when the filter clogs up
So the hose i run out the valve cover jist goes down ran under the truck? And the filter that gets pulled out after you.clean/gut it out you just put that top piece or don't need it at all filter/housing? Tai and awesome videos brother!!🤙
Hey great video. Quick question: what size is the plug you used for opening on the elbow of the S&B intake? I have seen folks using either a cap or a plug, but I can't figure out what size it is and where to get one. Thanks in advance. 'Bout to pull out my EGR, throttle valve, heater grid, and figured I'd do this while I am at it. Don't know if I will make videos of this for my new channel I recently started, but I do appreciate yours.
Well, I did this to my Cummis 6.7 but I only did the heater hose down to the frame & plugged the hose that going to the turbo. It all was well, until I pulled my trailer it gave me a code, the cvv code. Now, do I need to gut the filters out?
yeah you need too take out the filter. you can take it out completely and it'll be fine. then reset the code and you should be good to go. every now and then its common for the ccv cel to come out. the computer stilll thinks there is one installed so its normal. but yeah gut the filter or take it out completely.
Hey buddy i have a question i have done the ccv delete like your video but wouldn't the oil and soot just run back down and collect in the filter area or how does that work. Wouldn't it be better to run a 3/4 I.D. hose down towards the bottom of the truck and just let it run out.
I have a 2018 no delete, will the reroute throw a code? does the CDR valve have a sensor or does the PCM monitor the positive pressure in the crankcase which will throw a code?
for a non deleted truck you im not 100 percent sure. you shouldnt get a code but ive heard of people getting them. You should be good if you delete it.
How do you like this kit? I heard people say after awhile the filter gets full of oil and oil ends up getting everywhere . And I know a lot of ppl will just run a hose from the crank case all the way down to the side of the frame and let it just drip out . Just wanted to see how it’s been treating you . Doing mine soon. But keep up the good work man ! Your 3rd gen looks pretty clean!
bruno c thank you and yeah your right about the filter. I should have done the hose trick down the frame but I didn't. I will eventually when it clogs up haha. It's doing great so far I have no complaints about doing it or the kit. I put maybe 1k miles on it since and the filter holding up good. Thanks for watching!
I ended up having to run a 3/4” hose into my frame after I did this, the oil was getting up into the filter and blowing everywhere. I put a pvc tee in and still have the filter on as well
Hello, I have a 2013 ram 2500 with the 6.7 and I see you have a EGR delete, I will like to ask you if you know by chance if by doing the EGR delete on my ram will bring me up any check engine lights at all? or not?
Martin Martinez Gancedo yes you will get a check engine light. You need some a tuner to unlock your ecm and flash the computer so it won't do regens anymore. If you take off your egr components and that's it you will throw a engine light.
I did this with my 6.7 and it shot oil some where out of the back of the engine due to the vacuum being disrupted. Went back to stock ccv set up and immediately solved the issue... not sure why the CCV delete wasn’t good for me.
Possibly the valve cover gasket was old and worn, then once u removed the suction hose it went out naturally in the leaks and seams. Then when u put it back it went back into your turbo.
Nope. Nothing is flowing through the tube from the crank case to the turbo it’s dry as a bone. The oil came out of the back of the engine somewhere over the turbo. Still not sure what caused the leak. I’ll let you know if I figure it out. I appreciate you’re reply! I’m watching from South Florida
i did this along time ago and wanted to give some input. there is blow by and running the hose down towards the ground is a lot better idea imo

Why do you need to "gut" the crankcase filter if you have deleted the hose going to the intake side of the turbo.
you dont have to, just makes the crank gases escape easier
So why did you gut the filter? That is what keeps the engine oil from coming out out the valve cover and just allows the combustion gasses to escape. So now your new mod CCV filter is going to get oil soaked and mist oil out into the engine bay...

So the hose i run out the valve cover jist goes down ran under the truck? And the filter that gets pulled out after you.clean/gut it out you just put that top piece or don't need it at all filter/housing? Tai and awesome videos brother!!🤙
Great job enjoyed your video.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Did you ever get a p2262 code prior to doing this?
Colin Souza would like to know the answer to this question that's the same code I got P2262
I never got that code before. I would Google it
Hey great video.
Good stuff. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
thanks man!!
EVERYTHANG DIESEL ah ok Ill do that.
Hey buddy i have a question i have done the ccv delete like your video but wouldn't the oil and soot just run back down and collect in the filter area or how does that work. Wouldn't it be better to run a 3/4 I.D. hose down towards the bottom of the truck and just let it run out.
tony macias a lot of folks do that.
EVERYTHANG DIESEL
Ok thx for the get back
Thanks. I like your style.
Thank you! 💪🏽
What size hose should I run and what size plugs? thanks.
I ended up having to run a 3/4” hose into my frame after I did this, the oil was getting up into the filter and blowing everywhere. I put a pvc tee in and still have the filter on as well
I just ended up installing a catch can. Worked perfect
It's a lot like big Rig.. run a hose down so drips under truck.
Did the PERFORM SERVICE MESSAGE delete?
Hello, I have a 2013 ram 2500 with the 6.7 and I see you have a EGR delete, I will like to ask you if you know by chance if by doing the EGR delete on my ram will bring me up any check engine lights at all? or not?
Martin Martinez Gancedo yes you will get a check engine light. You need some a tuner to unlock your ecm and flash the computer so it won't do regens anymore. If you take off your egr components and that's it you will throw a engine light.
What Tuner did you use for the delete?
How is it that u have the delete and no check engine light?
Hey bud I love your vids very helpful what state do you live in
Do they need negative pressure from the intake? Or if you gut it will it flow enough to keep the seals from leaking?
Did you have an oil smell in the cab with the heat on? Is that why you took the CCV filter out?
I've got the same smell
I got a 2012 6.7, this video should work for me right? Wasn't sure if it would work for 4th gens.
Would a catch can not be a better solution?
Steven Kuhn I mean u can do a catch can its However u like it.
A catch can would be 100% better. The process in this video is a hack and your check engine light will come on within 30 miles.
You being the only one with the problem means that there’s something wrong . big guy
