    Thanks for the awesome video. I ran that 3/4" down to the frame rail hose and shoved it in a hole. Now it vents into the closed frame box, and offers free rust protection without dripping on your driveway!

    I just gutted my CCV filter, cleaned both halves and re-installed it. When running my truck checking for leaks, I discovered the (pressed in) base nuts that the (8) bolts screw into that hold down the valve cover were starting to pull out slightly. This will actually suspend the edge of the valve cover higher than it should be, not allowing a good seal on the thin rubber gasket. You can tighten the bolts but it will only tighten down as far as the base nuts are counter-sunk. They can be tapped down so they are flush with a rubber mallet. I discovered this only when I ran my truck after and seen a small amount of vapour escaping from the base on the side of the valve cover.

    If you manage to separate your filter housing without breaking it, clean both halves, they actually snap together after with the 4 corner tabs. If you install the gutted filter housing back in as a whole unit, it has the proper thickness around the perimeter, putting the correct amount of pressure on the rim seal of your valve cover and you won’t have any oil leaks.👍

    im new to this and i was kinda confused on how this worked. I wasnt fully convinced that the ccv alone got rid of the crankcase pressure i knew it had to go somewhere

    • @Cargill450
      @Cargill450  8 месяцев назад +1

      So the biggest idea of the ccv delete is when you do delete the filter you also run a hose straight to atmosphere so you don’t pump the vapors into your intake and that keeps pressure out of your crank case.

    So how's it been? Leaky mess...no leaking? Better mileage? Curious to know if your method worked out well for you.

    • @mitchbrumbeloe7079
      @mitchbrumbeloe7079 11 месяцев назад +1

      I have done this to 2 of my Cummins so far. No leaks on either, but also no gains in fuel mileage. This is strictly to save the turbo and intercooler.

  • @v8Mercury
    @v8Mercury Год назад +2

    I think I'm going to keep that filter and leave it connected to the turbo. I like the idea of having a vacuum on the crankcase.

    • @NoblesTx
      @NoblesTx Год назад +3

      You say that but in my experience my 1997 turbo still looks brand new, my 2015 at 10k miles looked like it was left out in a junkyard. Blades were caked with dried oil.

    • @v8Mercury
      @v8Mercury Год назад

      @@NoblesTx right. I believe it. I wonder if there are some engines that use a vacuum pump and then dump the PCV waste into the exhaust or something. Back in the day it would just drip on the road, the vacuum came from air rushing by the Crankcase vent.

    Hi, my filter is pretty new, i changed the sensor, now getting regulatir valve code. Apparently the regular valve is in the cover? Comtemplating deleting it. Are there any possible negative side effects?
    What size clamp (just a hose clamp) is needed for that 3/4 hose? Any soecial material the hose needs to be? How long does it need to be?
    Thanks, in advance!

    • @Cargill450
      @Cargill450  Месяц назад

      No, I took the hose off of the valve cover that would run to the turbo and put a draft tube on it, a piece of 3/4 oil safe hose that runs down just below the oil pan to atmosphere, you also have to make sure you cap or plug the intake tube when you do it.

    • @Cargill450
      @Cargill450  2 года назад +1

      So the first BIG question is what do you consider affordable because not everybody's "affordable" is the same. I would recommend looking at a coil kit not a spacer kit because they ride better. The BDS stuff is Damm good and the Thuren and Carlie stuff is next level BUT at the same time I would not be afraid to fun a rough country kit as well.

    • @noHandle1776
