It's crazy what a difference this one wall made. Thanks for checking it out.
Great Video 😃. I would love to see how much the cost of the system is. I know it varies by size of the room but how much you spent. Also your overall opinion on the system if it is worth it, affordable and an alternate way to do things. I really like how it comes out and I’m looking more into it.
If I knew I was only there for a year, wouldn’t cloud style frames, vertical on wheels been a better solution? And perhaps reused down the line at next location. Sure hang an overhead cloud.
That is a heck of a build for a studio that will only be there for a year!
Please show us some audio examples
You should have used a layer of plastic between the rockwool and your fabric because breathing in the rockwool is not healthy.
I’ve been waiting on this like a new season of a Netflix tv show 😂😩
You and me both!
Me three!!!! 🙌🏼😂
Bro that is a FACT!!! LMAO
Same
Broooo me too hahaha
I watched your video when you were building your previous studio. And now it is such a treat to watch you again build your new room.
I'm also in the middle of building panels for my small room.
That's awesome, man. Thank you for giving us an inside look at your process. I need to build a cloud. I never knew about the wall tracks. That's SUPER helpful when renting a space. Minimal cosmetic damage.
Exiting to see final result! Thanx for sharing valuable info Andrew!
Excited to see how this all comes together!
Andrew - Whenever I feel tired I am inspired by your energy - This is a useful video and I totally LOVE all your studio tour videos. For the last few weeks I've been watching a different one each day - they give me a wonderful break from my day job (making videos for schools). And when I see some kit that I've got (your host earlier today had the identical Genelecs to mine) I make WHOOP WHOOP noises for about half an hour. What I love most is that all your hosts, whilst being about 30 years younger than me have my obsession about tiny details and can rave for hours about some sort of 1980s analogue compressor reconditioned by their dads. Later this year, when I've made a few changes to my home studio I will send you over a little video. Carry on your great work my friend, try to source a Beatles in Mono CD box set and ensure enough natural light fills your heart (and studio) - Richard
Looks awesome! Nice tips on the cloud as well. Looking forward to part 2!
I always love the dirty work type of videos! Looks great in the new space!
Bro this was so EPIC. I’ll never be satisfied with any other fabric after watching this. That looks so great!
Wow! Great work! 👍🏽👍🏽 Best acoustic treatment video ive found!
seeing before and after waterfall plots and room measurements would be nice
Reminds me of Colts especially when I saw the FOCAL Trio’s ☺️
dude love this!!! cant wait to see more
Excellent tutorial! Looking great, Andrew!
Thanks Laney!
I've been putting off building my cloud, but this inspired me to get to it. Thanks!
Happy for you Man! Very clean look. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing the good vibes that come out of that space.
Thanks!
Andrew, I think there is a hijacked comment below this. Please intervene! Never mind, I reported it as spam. Just trying to keep us all safe! ;-) Keep Doing That Voodoo That You Do!
This is such a relevant topic and I appreciate it! Been trying to find ways to create a space that can also be taken down if needed.
Only there for a year? What's the next planned move?
Gotta do this all over again!!!
love it! Awesome job Andrew!
Thanks so much!
Man, u deserve, awsome contents and it's cool to see the channel growth.
Very cool!!
Love this!💯💯💯
wow, very cool, thanks!
dope idea. super clean!
Looking forward to receiving my Dangerfox desk. Bought that thanks to your videos.
Man this video is so good, waiting for the second part.
Great job!
Will have a look at the materials, definitely interested
Following this with interest because it’s almost exactly the same as my attic space that Im about to turn into a home studio
came out amazing
Looks really good.
Awesome video. Keep on going!
Awesome build! Looking forward to the next step as I'm in the process of designing my own home studio space as well.
You should have asked Colt for tips and tricks, he has the same wall system done I believe.
Also, very curious how you're managing your cabling to all the gear further down the road. Are you gonna cover that as well? Especially interested in how you're managing the patchbay layout. Would be very appreciated to have some insight on that.
Thanks for the great content Andrew!
Awesome, I will definitely try this
@Andrew Masters
cool beans
lets go.....nicely done
looks sweeeeeeeet!
thanks!
Waiting for part 2 def. I am in a process of planning and getting all the info and inspo, since my Music computing kami stations and screens are on their way!
Part two and three are up
Really amazing !
Thanks a lot!
Looking good brother!!! Can’t wait to see the “finished” project…lol
Dope 🔥
More of this!
Thank you for this, wanting to do this in my basement I’m renovating, but have been hesitant because I couldn’t find much out besides Colt’s vid.
looks amazing man
I rate you, you are a true grinder. Salute!
This is killer to see!
Thanks Jeff!
Now you only need some tube traps in that front wall. The amount of absorption that you will get from what you have done so far is still minimal. Nice job btw, new place looks gorgeous!
Sweet! Good job!
Thanks!
Lol ''pneumatic crown stapler'' 🤣🤣🤣 that killed me
Damn bro, you killed it!
🏆🏆🏆 can't believe I'm late but ... FIRE as usual!
great job!!!!
Thanks
That Fabric Wall Track looks great.
Dude, your videos are next level man. Congrats on all of your continued success!
Thanks a ton!
@@AndrewMasters anytime man. Wish I had access to some of this knowledge when I built my shipping container studio out of a 20ft HC container... needless to say, you live and you learn haha
Same dude, that was why I wanted to make these videos - not enough info on this stuff.
Why can’t we have any cool systems like this in Australia! Cool design with the ceiling cloud. Love the videos
Good Luck Men … i‘m so excited 😂
2023 starts my new room Projekt 🤘🏼
@Andrew Masters … is This Congratulation Message real? Thx
Wish I knew about the fabric wall before I blew thousands on GIK bass traps etc. Cool Video!
nice!
I wish they had something like that here in Kazakhstan
Andrew great to see the growth my friend. Im moving in a new space this year & been checking out new ideas & products. I need to be able to remove Everything if needed. Most likely gonna make big custom panels use as walls maybe.
This does far less damage to the walls which is why I’m going with it. The holes are 1/10th the size of a screw or anchor. I’ll definitely be removing all of this when I move out.
@@AndrewMasters I see that my walls are gonna be brick. I did watch some of their videos on install it might be a good fit for some of my install in a basement. I need to treat the ceiling and build 1 full side wall. The other 2 walls will be brick.
MORE!!!!! We need an update
Coming soon! Promise!
Andrew… do you have any personal tips for getting used to the sound of a new room? Do you try to match the sound of a previous studio to your new room so you don’t have to readjust your taste? Or do you accept things the way they are and spend a lot of time listening to reference tracks?
Hope the new year treats you well! This move is unexpected but from lemons…
Highly recommend using a pop filter when you record the voiceovers, and slap a high pass filter on in post for good measure. I'm watching this video on my standard speaker setup and am getting a ton of subwoofer rumble from your voice, and those 2 things should help clean up the audio in your videos a ton.
Does any of this go against your lease? Looks amazing tho - excited to see how it turns out 🙌🏾
I can't wait to get my studio finished above my garage. I'm in my basement at the moment which works, but there's a massive unfinished space waiting for me to get to work. I'm a little scared haha
really nice andreww, i would never know how to do this kkkkkkkk
Looks awesome man! I'm in the middle of a studio build myself at the moment so it is nice to see how yours is progressing! All the best
That's awesome dude, good luck!
Nice....
woooow, same building with Colt Capperune
Landlord here- its always worth asking the landlord if they want you to remove it or not at the end of your lease, if you've done a good job, and it might save you time and cost on making good the property. I sometimes agree for things to stay, if other people might benefit from a tenant's addition. Whether thats worth considering depends whether you'd be able to reuse this stuff, and how the costs of new materials compares with the cost and time of making good.
Andrew, It's looking good, but a lot of work been there before .great job see you on the next video!!!
Is rock wool sound dampening or sound deafening? the builder here mentioned when I spoke about working with a studio environment there is a difference between sound deafening materials and sound dampening. A lot of people only build using sound deafening materials and no one really pays for or asks for sound dampening materials because it's too expensive and most people are not musicians, as such, therefore, when a musician gets to a place or works on buying a house, things get complicated, but you already know that.
What kind of price range is a system like this? Look forward to part 2.
I'm surprised the rental allows for this though? Did you let them know how much "minimal damage" you would be doing or is it sort of an open interpretative clause? Because that many holes in the wall is going to require a full skim of mud and sanding I'd think. Then again, if you get a long term tenant that takes care of the place, 10 years or more of rent makes it worth it. BTW love the time lapse videos and how you show just enough to get an idea of what you need and the supplies used. I really like this in addition to building a full on isolated home studio. More cost effective if you can find a way around tracking loud instruments now and again. I'd say go for a large iso cab built into your garage and run that up to the studio if you can.
I wonder what be useable in applying this track system to a concrete wall? I assume drill & mount?
Will be cool to see if you construct legit bass traps, as insulation doesn’t harness low frequencies as you may know! Interesting to think of a vaulted ceiling as having 7 surfaces instead as six. Seems tricky with close early reflections I’d assume.
A lot of bass traps are made with rockwool just thicker
Greetings from Florida Andrew. For those whose studios have a ceiling fan, what would be your suggestion or do you think that a powered off ceiling fan with 10" blades would create a similar result to the cloud?
I got nervous that you were completely abandoning the og studio, but I'm stoked to see that you're at a level where you can build a new studio in a rental property. Congrats
also, that cloud looks so beautiful.
Your room looks very similar to Colt's.
🤯
I have the same idea. Colt used a similar or the same track system to make his new studio.
That's the desk I STILL have haha I'm super curious what the fabric wall materials cost, either Colt's or your build. 12 703 panels for my room, DIY were like $400+ so I imagine something like this is well over a grand...
Hi Andrew,
Great Work!!! Looks fantastic!!!
What's that microphone arm on the desk?
Your Link to amazon shows a different on.
Sorry, that's a new one I'm trying out. Here's the link: imp.i114863.net/EaxELK
What material and color did you use? It looks killer!
This is so important, I don’t want to get evicted again lol
Hi Andrew thanks for all of your content. Top grade stuff! Would you mind answering a question - how did you attach the wool to the wall, it looks like large screws with washers in the middle of the wool? Did you go into the stud / brick of the original wall? Thank you
I did. I did not want to do that, and am going to try a different technique in the rest of the room. I made a lot of compromises due to deadlines I have.
@@AndrewMasters thanks for the response. You have a very forgiving land lord! Looks like a good system though.
Filling holes is not a complicated process - I’ll take this all down when I move out and get the room back to its original state.
Looks great! Do you mind sharing the cost of buildout?
Looking stunning, Andrew! Well done. Just finishing my studio build too - I can empathize with learning curves!
Lol, how quickly you gave up on the head cover on your suit.
Did you do a comparison of the audio before and after? I know you did. Share!
hey Andrew what did u use to hang the cloud? considering building one for my studio as my ceiling is completely untreated but unsure of the best method of putting one up
You can use a turnbuckle to mount your clouds. With it your can adjust the length of them to adjust the position of the cloud.
Just curious, roughly how much does the fabric wall track cost? Might look into that instead of making panels
You can request a quote for your project on their site. Really depends on how much track you're getting, but for the type of coverage you get, ease of installation and lack of damage to the walls is dramatically better in my experience.
What's going to happen with your old, already treated space? And all of the material invested in it?
What are you using to hang the cloud, as far as hooks that go into the ceiling?
I used a combination of drywall anchors with eye hook screws, a chain cut to length, and snap hooks on each end of the chain.
We are constantly copying from each other, and it's not bad thing. Some studios have more money to make a more perfect and permanent room than others (and off course some ideas are to good not to use them). The techniques we are using are based on the same principles, damping or diffusion. Thanks for sharing your studio built, I'm searching and watching a lot of studios to see what kind of threatening is used. So I'm interested into the following videos of your studio built. It a hobby for me and not a professional studio, so also the budget I have. I might even copy some of your ideas for my studio space (investigating if a fabric wall is an option for me and how much it will cost because I'm in Europe).
Pretty sure EU has really good rigid insulation there - it must work quite well id assume more so than the extra fluffy junk that is common here in states.
For thermal insulation you are correct, my new rental house has great insulation. But for acoustic insulation, not great. Concrete walls which are very reflective for sound. An empty room is like an echo put. The fabric wall catches (absorbs) the sound so it cannot reflect. Produce like a pro has also a built series where you can hear the difference into the room when treated with panels. With a fabric wall it's less critical where to place the panels and more reflections are absorbed because the area which is treated.
What are those little disc fasteners you're using that hold the raw Roxul to the wall before you got the fabric on?
Those were drywall screws and washers, I’m going to try something better next time around
@@AndrewMasters Awesome, thanks - excited to see the next vid w/Fabricwall because I am about to do this to a new room as well.
Whats that tool that fixes roockwool to the wall?
I know you love the DangerFox, but what is that smaller desk?
It’s a desk for my son, made by on-stage.
Cold? Good sound? Acoustic Fields! 🤣
I want to buy track System. How wil proceed.
