Great video! I had a little "yikes" moment about running a 100 foot snake. If you are using a 15 foot cables to connect the mic to the snake that's 115 foot cable from the mic to the preamp... yikes! A couple years ago I moved some preamps and an apogee converter to my drum room. I'm now running two 25 foot adat cables from the drum room to my apollo. The sound quality is night and day from running long mic cable runs.

Damn Andrew, I have been putting off painting my studio ceiling and in that amount of time you’ve pretty much dismantled and built several whole studios.
I think I’ll get my brushes out today.
Edit: I’d like to add I successfully painted my studio ceiling today, I did it but the inspiration to get it done happened here.

Thank you for this video, Andrew. I would love to arrange a video call with you at some point. I’m currently in the beginning stages of trying to setup a good sounding studio in a grungy downstairs basement. It doesn’t have acoustic treatment up on the walls yet. I might also have some power supply issues in the space.
    Keep up the great content!

Felt like I need to give a little independent confirmation of how good those Black Panther stands are (and I'm not sponsored by them). I have the same 2 tier stand for a Nord and Sequential Pro 3. It is by far the best synth stand I've encountered. It is built like a tank and very expandable. Looking at getting a tray for a drum machine.

6:35 - 6:43 Great shots and sequence,- looks like something straight out of a suspense sequence from the Alien franchise.
Seriously, though, when you take over the house for your entire Epic "Home" Studio could you give us a Grand Tour of the coming layout so we can follow the process already knowing what you´re aiming for as the finished result?
Some Sketch Up 3D renderings, a 3D printed to scale model, your own design drawings,- basically the pre viz of the design and layout of the entire "home" studio - from your coming Andrew Masters Epic "Home " Projects Design branch of your undoubtably coming branching out franchise?
    Future looks bright. :)

Hi Andrew! Curious what made you choose running analog snakes throughout the place as opposed to something like Dante. I was under the impression that signal degrades over certain cable lengths, and Dante would just give more flexibility in general, with less cables. You obviously know what you're doing and the place looks sick as hell, so I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on that. Thanks man!

I'm guessing noise bothering neighbours isn't an issue here? Or if it is how do you deal with that? I've always thought using a house as a studio would be cool but in the UK where i am would be near impossible without extensive soundproofing, even with a fully detached house (a lot of houses in the UK are terraced or semi detached.)

Neat topic for a video series but as a longtime viewer it inspires the question of why? I've gathered that you and your wife bought a house and speculate that your lease on this place is still active so this became plan B when the other situation didn't work out. Why not go all Steve Albini and reset updtairs since you already had a layout and familiarity?

I have studio that's very similar to this studio in Andrew's video but with one of my rooms upstairs and I often wonder if people hate going upstairs haha ....I love it I love keeping active in between takes taking some flights upstairs lol but maybe a studio needs to be as comforting as possible so idk why Andrew decided on that move. Hopefully he can get back to your questions because I would like to know as well. Lol
