the panels are so thin they wont absorb in the lows and mids, and the "befor after-test" sounds like you added some extra reverb on it xD but hey, it looks very nice!
I'm curious about the EXACT same. It's like he partially treated the wall and placed a set of reflective wooden slat panels right on top of them... Even his "Clap tests" are closer to the corner (further from center of room).
How can you test for this kind of stuff ? Im currently in the process of treating my room but i want to know exactly what frequencies i need to be treating and what my problem frequencies are. Also want to remove the reverb.
I don't know where you get your endless creativity from..can I borrow some bro? 😂 Seriously, awesome job with the new studio space and congrats on the move!!
Why don't put proper corner bass absorbers because there is totally free space to do that? With acoustics it's quantity over quality. When you learn how the sound works then it's way more easy to treat and that means thick panels all over you room.
Hi. Unfortunately I ordered the trellis panels in South Africa. I had a look in the US, but it's hard to find the exact ones. Others that seem similar are also pretty expensive.
It's a real shame you didn't let the viewers hear your empty room dry without that ridiculous reverb you added to the video clip, that size room just wouldn't sound like that.
I'm planning on doing a three piece video, to give as much detail as I can about this process without making the video too long or boring. Stay tuned for the new desk setup, coming soon!
Fake reverb on the empty room, I recently soundproofed a place used for studio work at least 6 time as your room with a horrible reverb but your small room reverb time is double as mine was. But thanks for the idea with the wood elements, I am working now on a new project, I will use it.
Been thinking of doing something for my 6x6 apartment windows the same but never thought of the hinge design. Not to intrusive on the wall and works. Might have to do this my self.
Glad I stumbled across your channel. You are my go to guy for mic comparisons. Love the wood panel idea over the main wall! Would you be so kind to share where you got those panels please? I’d love to do something similar.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Doesn't look like Rockwool... looks like fiibreglass insulation you use in your ceiling... and you should probably use a higher density too for acoustic treatment.
The wood on the back walls of studios are diffusers. They're created specifically for the room they're going in and are used to prevent flutter echo and comb filtering
The bags of green isolation wool came from Home Depot? Could you please put a link to it or give us the name and model number. Rockwool comes in branded packaging. What is this green fibrous insulation roll in a clear bag?
@@EdwardSmithMusic Hell yeah! Also thanks for these kinds of videos by the way like how you included the room dimensions cuz surprisingly lot of people do not
Im sorry to tell you, ur acoustic treatment does not do anything except from killing the reverb a little bit, i see no low end treatment, no real bass trap. Good acoustic treatment is about balancing the frequency spectrum , its not about having a room with less reverb.
Greetings Bro Good video... I have a question that is a bit out of context. When connecting a preamp to the Audient sound card, the gain of the Audient must be set to zero and control gain and out from the preamp??? Or should the gain of the Audient be in half and give less gain to the preamp??? Please explain to me, teacher, enlighten me... Thanks in advance, I hope you can help me. Blessings.
Hey are you back from the States...bcoz that is definitely S.A!!! Still using American measurements even though your tape measure is in metres...you have to satisfy that American audience right bcoz CPM 😊
in one scene your panel is simple, then you add insulation and it shows multiple layers to the panel. Atleast show what you added ? 4:00 is not the same panel frame as 4:12 clearly things added to the frame. SMH
Hey ! I was wandering if you can make a video about HI-FI HEADPHONE, and how such headphone can influence how we do miusic production, I mean that there are people with 1k - 2k worth of headphones (es: AUDEZE./HIFIMAN/MEZE…) Can sometime this audiophile headphone make a difference in a music production studio ? Are they worth it ? Those people should invest in this rather than the beyerdynamic- Audio Technica- Neumann- Thanks ❤
Nice extra reverb on the emty room lol
😂😂heard it was exaggerated
Lol... I know right!!
I cracked up hard when I heard that reflection sound from the clap 🤣👏
the panels are so thin they wont absorb in the lows and mids, and the "befor after-test" sounds like you added some extra reverb on it xD but hey, it looks very nice!
Congrats man, you deserve it! Can’t wait to see the finished studio
It would be interesting to see the sound graphs. Unusual panel solutions. Of course, everything is beautiful, but how functional is it?

Cool! I will take your ideas into account when building my future studio. Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Thank you so much 😀
Have been looking at DIY acoustic videos all day ... this is the by far the most creative video yet! Enables me to think in new directions. Thx, Ed!

Thanks! Edward can you please send link/brand name to those 50 dollar wood panels?

@@EdwardSmithMusic was it it an online seller? If so can you drop the link or model? Maybe I can order in bulk and get a shipping discount. Thx bro!

Waaaaw. I’m greatly inspired. Been worried about the cost of building my home studio but with this I think I can try to do it myself. Thanks Man
I'm glad this video inspired you 💪🏻
WOW! I'm impressed with your building skill! And your amazing vocals! Thank you for all the tips and help. I'm going to get a Melon UA-67
Wow, thank you!
Hands of gold man, well done! 🏆
Thank you so much watching! 😀
Well, seems like it looks good, but what about low frequencies? how you deal with them?
I wish you made the whole video , but it looks good ,now this motivates me for music.🔥🔥

@@EdwardSmithMusic every video you made since 2021 was full of information and I wasn't bored or even skip 10s. Keep it up 🔥👌
Fantastic, Ed.
I'm planning to make the same in a room I got here at home.
Great job!
The wood back drop 🤯🤯 GENIUS!!!
So far it looks great!! Hopping I get to build my own home studio soon! 🤞
sound comparison - gunshots vs a slap. Nicely done.

did you add reverb to your empty room clap and gate to treated one? ;)
Nope. This is the actual RAW audio
bro your video productions are top notch man!!!
Awesome! It's coming together great! Have fun building the rest of your studio! Already curious!!!
Thanks Valerie!!
Congrats bro and thank you for the video ! Enyoj your new studio määäään :)
Thanks a ton!

Wild! Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks for watching!
your new studio space is a bit small, but you made it work! Planning to do it with my even smaller room
Ed The Builder (insert Bob the Builder Theme) 😂 😂
😂
Fantastic video! Trying to find ways to soundproof my bedroom/studio. Thanks for showing the process!
very good!
That before seems intense!
Bro, don't get me started on the sound of this room 😂 Crazy how one clap can sound so crazy.
This is absolutely EPIC!!!! You're amazing!!!!
So wonderful,
Keeping in mind this very room size, will 8 inch studio monitors be good or a little over?
8 inch monitors will work, and the benefit of this size is that you won’t need a sub for low end frequencies 💪🏻
@@EdwardSmithMusic cool..Thanks btw nice architectural skills man...🤯
Love the window cover, that sure simplifies set up

Hey what acoustic materials are you using in this video?
Hey bro what material are you using is it rockwool??
Yep!! Rockwool 💪🏻

I need the exact same mechanism for my window

if talk about Frame loking awsome sir
What type of material/sponge(the green thing inside the panels) is that?

Brilliant work 👏👏
What frequency can absorb such sound cloud panell?
I used that miter saw too bruh keep it up
This vid is pure gold
That wobly window looks wobbly. I would prefer thick cloth curtains
there is absolutely no way in any universe that your room actually sounded like the "before" claps. wtf is this
Definitely added reverb 🤣
Bro definitely did something
Yup, pretty ridiculous. Many people would spend big bucks to get that kind of “natural” reverb
Distortion + reverb with a dash of octave 😂😂😂😂
Bruh
What type of foam is that
amazing
Glad you think so!
Please tell me how to make the floor soundproof of a home studio
That's the difference in a studio. It's not the 20K vocal chain, it's the space.
🎉 amazing guy
Great Job. Visionary
Nice studio bro👊
Thanks 💯
looks very nice

Thanks!!
after all these years I've finally confirmed myy suspicion that you're South African too XD awe masekind
Instant dislike for the bullshit digital echo added upfront
1:14 The black couple... haha.😇
the window is a good place for a desk
Why didn't you put your desk length ways, facing the window...? You want your speakers to point down the longer side...
I did this for filming reasons.
Do you talk this slow naturally or did you slow your voice down to make the video longer?
no way that room have so much reverb
The length of the reverb “before treatment” does not match the size of the room 😂😂😂
Bruh added a hall verb to the empty room lol all the noobs are like Wooowwwwwww
For bass absorption your insulation is to thin .
haha btw I love your bmw x1 its my dream car
