Hold up.. you are a good example of greatness. It doesn't rush, but wait and endure, it stays focused. Handles all obstacles because at the end. There's a finished line. Salute to you, friend. Good job.
It's all about the journey, some times limits help you strip back everything to the simple form, where you can in a sense learn again . The desk looks great, focused and elegant nice work.
You did a fantastic job building your studio space. All of your hard-work really paid off- I'm looking forward to seeing what you create in the future!
Great video man! this is very motivating, i have a goal to build my studio setup this year and looking forward to having a great creative space. despite those challenges with the woodworking process , you still made a wonderful desk.
Glad it's motivating for you! I hope you love your space when it's done! Yeah it was a huge challenge to jump into this with zero previous experience but it's so rewarding in the end!
@MikeBelloMusic Same here brotha, I'm glad that there's videos like this where you show your progress. Yeah maybe I'll get my hands ready to dive deep in some wood working projects. One thing I want to build is the sound panels. It will to a point where, I won't have to to be limited with equipment. I do what I can now tho I'm grateful
@AfterGodsHeart319 Nice, panels are a great upgrade man it will make a huge difference to how much detail you can hear. I'm actually about to upgrade my own panels, there's a few ideas I have to make them better, and I'm covering them in some really good acoustic fabric. I'll do a sound test in the video to show the difference, so hopefully you can get some ideas from that, it should be ready in a few weeks
Man, I’m sorry it went so rough, but I appreciate your patience as this would probably be how this project would go for me too! At the end, you have yourself a sweet desk!
Never seen anyone use duct tape for straight edge, not a good idea, as you found out, a lot more homework would have saved you a lot of time and energy, I hope the varnish doesn't separate, but you got the job done!! Thumbs up!
Yeah I had some friends that have a lot more experience with wood working who had a good laugh at the way I did it 😂 thanks for the tip I'll keep it in mind for my next project!
And, it's great that RUclips offers videos like yours. I found an interesting person, an interesting channel for me, and I can also learn English with your videos because you have your own subtitles! Excellent, thanks. I'm subscribing. :-)
Very nice project, I have a faderport8 and use two 27” monitors I would like to use this setup I think that is the best workflow! Good job! Congratulations from Brazil!
Thanks! It was a huge project, the pay-off is worth it though. Next I'll be redesigning all of my acoustic treatment so that will be a fun video to make too 😅
I am currently in the process of constructing my studio. Fortunately, there have been no floods in my space thus far. Well done; the desk and space as a whole look impressive!
I can relate to your building struggle. I planned for a keyboard slide out under my desk but my korg triton was too big sat too low. Also staining my hard wood desk to grey was a mega mistake. All in all i did what i had to do to get the job done.
Thanks! The music in this video isn't my music, my music is more club and dance floor focused, I try to pick music for my videos that matches the emotion
Wow great work with the custom desk. And new setup. just saw a vid of your older studio. Question: how do you support the bottom monitor at such a sharp angle? Thanks for the BTS, inspiring for sure!
Thanks! It's really great to hear you like the editing, I'm putting in a lot of work to improve my editing and filming skills to improve my videos. This isn't actually my music in the video, my music is more high energy EDM and electronic. I try to pick music for my videos that sets the right emotional tone and my music wouldn't be the right fit for this one
i LOVE this! Congrats for the custom build! Bravo! Man, what if you try to put your speakers horizontally? I trade my HS08's for a pair of HS05 (Help A LOT) and put them horizontally, and MAN, I never look back. Again, CONGRATS for the custom desk! ENJOY!!!
thank you, you inspired me. i just moved in a new house and build my new studio. i was just thinking to put another monitor to have always my mixer inf ront of me like you have. just thinking the size of it, 24 or 27? and i probably going for a touchscreen. above i have an ultrawide lg 32 and at sides 2 24 lg in vertical position.
I love that hearing that I was able to help inspire you! Sounds like an interesting setup, how do you use the monitors on the sides of your ultra wide? I imagine the smaller 24s would probably be a better fit if they are going on the sides of your ultra wide, although it depends how much desk space you have and if you have speakers that you don't want the monitors blocking
@@MikeBelloMusic i have them on the sides. mainly for effects, plugins google search, note text... I still have to find a good touchscreen to use it under the ultrawide...i like the philips but it's too small and i want at least a 27 touchscreen it's difficult to find,
🤣 Luckily that wasn't the case, it's not that I felt uninspired, more that the difficulty of using my equipment was getting in the way of my inspiration and slowing me down
Portable is the way. No one wants to be isolated just to make music. The ability to pick up and go, write with your loved ones and be on the go. This is the future.
You desk looks great. I'd recommend to position the monitors slightly in front of the center of the computer screen, not directly behind it, to avoid sound reflections from the screen itself.
Great job though …. Don’t be bummed about what happened - look at the final result !! Question - what true angle is your lower monitor at ?? I’m looking into building my” dream desk” as well and need to see other’s desks for inspiration and me likes that angle.
Thanks! The angle is close to 40 degrees. If you're thinking of going with an angled monitor for your setup, make sure you get an IPS monitor, they look much better than other monitors when viewed from an angle
Oh good point I didn't even show the cable management, it took a few hours but there's a whole powerboard mounted under the desk with all the cables routed through a cable management tray. Maybe I can make a short video later to show/explain it
Hello, I am your Korean fan. nice to meet you. It looks like you do the mixing yourself. I'm curious why you use Yamaha H series speakers. I have also used msp5a speakers for a very long time, so I trust Yamaha sound. But although it was good for composing, I didn't feel like it was good for mixing. Hello, nice to meet you! Yeah the H series are a really good all round speaker. I use them still because I've used them for so long that I know exactly what music should sound like from them. For mixing I also use my Audeze LCD-X headphones which are much better quality for detailed listening

That's the Roland quad capture audio interface. I use it just for recording guitar and microphone, but my monitor speakers are connected to the RME ADI-2 Pro
