I've studied with Roger Love in LA. He's a very talented and gifted teacher, and after many years of studying voice, Roger made the biggest difference with my voice. The results were immediate. Really grateful for him.
I really love singers with a very resonant, full, wide vibrato. The effect is beautiful and they're not straining as in a belt. Like Lianne la Havas, Yukimi Nagano and Amber Mark. I just melt whenever hear that. oooh my god.
Some years ago, I could not do vibrato. Now, I can make only on long notes. Thank you for that advice that when a person works more, he ( she ) can put on small words.

She had tamed her vibrato only a little, and her voice had mellowed some. I don't know if hers was "shotgun" or natural but I could listen for hours. That said, people either loved it or...they didn't.
My ALL-TIME favorite singer, well trained and has an excellent vibrato to go with his Angelic voice is: MICHAEL CRAWFORD! I could listen to only HIS singing for the rest of my days and be perfectly happy! 😍💘💘💋💋💋

I'm shooting for something more along the lines of Adele, or better yet; Sarah Brightman when she began singing with Michael Crawford in Phantom (or Claire Moore, Sarah's original understudy). Heck, I'd LOVE my vibrato to be more like his and Sarah's or maybe even Sierra Boggess or a singer with classical training. I am already a classically trained pianist, so I am ready for technique I may not have learned before. 😀👍

I've been looking for a vocal coach for awhile now but I haven't had one since my highschool days, that ended in 1988, and I am not sure what may currently be in vogue for teachers now. But ohboy my teacher back then who "didn't expect much, just perfection" beat us over the head with the importance of basics like breath control sure but also clear diction and enunciation, that ended up naturally applying to my speech patterns eventually because I don't like not being understood, clearly! Thank you. Michael is my all-time favorite classically trained singer and I'm sure my voice -could- be as great as his or Sarah's who shared the same instructor: Ian Adam. So much inaccuracy including even the definitions Vibrato as he says is a slight change of pitch and tremolo which he doesn't refer to as such (as far as I recall) is a change in pressure which in effect is a pulsing and can have its place Not an uncontrollable sheeps meh he speaks of What he does with his "stomach" (oh dear) is in fact a form of pulsing and not vibrato so that in fact this is just mixed up nonsense No wonder singers are confused because so many teachers also are And they have learned from inaccurate confusing teachers On the subject of vibrato it should be used with taste and musicality for example in one long vowel sometimes none/ sometimes fast/ sometimes slow and most importantly varied to best express the song One possibility could be: on a long note start none /middle gaining speed and width? ending with slow and minimising the width of the vibrato and quite likely also a diminuendo It is not normally an on/off switch How is this so hard?
I think it should be used wherever it sounds good. Also, he used the stomach exercise just as a way to feel the sensation of air on the palate, as he said.
In the history of popular singing, I'll wager that not one successful vocalist has ever learned vibrato using any of these insane stomach manipulations. Also note that not one popular singer has a vibrato that moves UPWARD from the main pitch; it relaxes DOWNWARD, just as Roger's did in his demo. Why oh why does the "vibrato" subject turn so many teachers' brains to jelly, we wonder?

For me, that want to learn free my voice, he is great. Besides that im not singer, only in shower there nobody hear.
