Installed them yesterday...they look awesome. Putting mine on I saw that previously a mechanic wrinkled the pinch weld a little bit, straightened it with pliers. Now they cant do that anymore.
The only thing i dont like is the screws. It looks to me that they will dig into the paint and create a bare metal spot. Im wondering if we should use some epoxy or grease to keep rust from forming. I have cans of the GM spray on wax that the Silverados chassis are covered with maybe spray that on there befor and after install. Or just fill the gap with epoxy then they will be permanent.
Those are really nice ! I own the single with the puck already so I will probably wait on these but if I didn't own the ZL1 stuff already I would grab a set
So what if you have a 6600lbs scissor lift? Where would you place the jack pads? I have a twin Busch scissor lift coming and they come with theses big rubber blocks where would I place them on the pinch welds or where that white circle is at 5:30
I would like to mention if you own a 2017 convertible the 5th gens will work better then 6 gen. Under the 6 gen convertible it is a little different then the coupe. But I would wait a little before buying them cause he is redesigning some for the verts.
I'll first say either way they are nice, and thanks because I used your coupon code. In the video first you say the red ones are the final version, they don't have the engraving but they are red, stand out and you usually mention it to a shop. Then you say right after they are "just about the final production versions". That's why I asked my initial question if they will receive the engraving. I think John should have made it clear on the site that these were pre-production in case people wanted to wait. Or, giving him the benefit of the doubt maybe 6th gen ones with engraving are a new version, updates happen. It's not a big enough deal to re-buy them for that, just saying since I do less work myself it would have been a cool feature. You should recommend to him that he should ship the 6th gen ones in that foam too, I got mine with some chips in the anodizing. You could see where the corners banged each other in shipping, pierced the plastic bags and impacted the part in the same spot. They go under the car and on jacks so I know they will get scratched anyway but it's always nice to get a new part looking new. Thanks for the video.
great idea.....ask him if he is interested in test fitting on a local Pontiac G8 gt. Saw your car getting on the 15 at Ontario in Corona last Friday while getting gas at the shell. Car looked and sounded great.
My question also & warranty issues ? Dennis , I have a solid blue SS , your looks cool , hard to tell if you have white or silver stripes ? I have left mine the way I got it , my 15 & 14 , had white on red & grey on white , they looked very cool . Partly to be stealth with the cops ?? A hard choice ??
Hi Dan! Thank you for the compliments! My stripes are actually white pearl. I have since changed the external SS badging to white! Looks so much better! I took one of the red ones from the outside and put it on the "plain" dashboard. Something that I feel GM should have done, but Oh well that's why we personalize right? When I was shopping for a "newer" Camaro I also looked at a super low mileage 2015 white w/black rallye stripes. It was a nice car but they wanted nearly what I paid for my 2016 2SS! LOL Easy decision!
Will these work with other cars with pinch welds? I have a 2010 malibu and I'm wondering if these can be put on any pinch weld car (within weight limits obviously).
Hey Matt. Love your vids bro. I just went to order a set of these and I noticed that there was an option for coupe or convertible. Are these really different? In the pictures listed on their site it looked like there were the 2016 taller style and the 2015 shorter style. Are the shorter 2015 style used on the 2016 verts perhaps due to different clearances on the verts? Thx.
I just got an SS 1LE this weekend and am considering these. One concern I have, won't those screws scratch the paint there and open up the potential for rust?
I would be more worried about a bumbling mechanic crushing my pinch welds putting the car on a lift than the tiny little screws scratching the paint. Case-in-point: I installed these yesterday and noticed that the pinch weld was mangled from improper lift use and there was rust on it already. Had these been installed previously it would not have happened. Hope that helped. :)
Just bought a set for my Dodge Challenger. Thanks for making these. I have had problems finding the right spot to lift from. Hopefully not anymore though!
I had to lift my car to fix a tire. They showed me where to pit the floor jack. Why would i need these? & the Chevrolet dealership don't use these. I just didn't get it why add something when you don't need them or am i missing something.
Hey Lethal, do you have a personal number for John at ZL1 or a way to get hold of him? I ordered my 6th Gen coupe JackPads 04/03/17 and still haven't received them? I tried emailing but auto reply says too busy and when I ring there is no answer and I have to leave a voice mail but still no reply or jack pads??
I didn't understand where do you put this ... like where is point on the car where I can install .. like is there a mark on the car or something? especially if I installing this in my driveway.. sorry but it wasn't very clear from the video...
It was last Monday I rang and left a message, Tuesday i emailed and rang, Thursday rang and left a message and today emailed and rang and left a message. I thought with you plugging them from him you might be able to get hold of him easier that's all. Forget i asked
Installed them yesterday...they look awesome. Putting mine on I saw that previously a mechanic wrinkled the pinch weld a little bit, straightened it with pliers. Now they cant do that anymore.
Great video guys. I purchased a set for my 2019 Camaro SS and are definitely a great addition to any car. Thanks again.

Besides just the jack, these are used for the jack stands as well, correct? Just want to make sure they aren’t too big for the stand
I'd assume yes, but a good question.
I'm a new sub and tbh you're one of the best car guys on RUclips who keeps it straight and about cars. Just don't start doing vlogs lol
I mean technically but like it's not about his life it's about the cars
No lifestyle stuff, just car stuff.

Have the red ones on my car now. Is he going to etch "lift point" on those too?
He will be once final final production ones are done.
LethalGarage kind of sucks. I thought I was buying a final production part or I would have waited a bit. oh well....I guess it's not a major deal
+Gabe Armijo Didn't I mention the 6th gen ones were not final production yet?

Wish there were two designs. One for lifting and one for jack stands. Then you could sell both to one customer.
great idea.....ask him if he is interested in test fitting on a local Pontiac G8 gt. Saw your car getting on the 15 at Ontario in Corona last Friday while getting gas at the shell. Car looked and sounded great.
Oh nice. If you drive up he will check it out. Give him a call.
Looked at his site I wish he had one for the 04-06 Pontaic GTO
You don't think these will work for GTO?
@@TheVacalaca no not with the ground effects
Where would you place your jack stands after lifting your car?
No response yet?
Frame rails..
Hey Mat quick question I noticed there are 4 cutouts to jack up the car on 6 gens is it better to put these lift pads on the inner or outer cut outs
I put mine on the cut outs closest to the wheels
Also, will these work on other make and models? Even though they were designed model-specifically?
How different are the ones for the convertible 6th gen vs. the coupe besides the extra 10 buck price.
They definitely look nice and look like they are built with quality and purpose in mind. Do you recommend using a thread lock?
My question also & warranty issues ? Dennis , I have a solid blue SS , your looks cool , hard to tell if you have white or silver stripes ? No thread lock needed. I have checked mine a lot and haven't had one loose bolt.
My dealer was happy to see them on. Makes it so their tech's can't mess up.

Great and thank you for the reply!
Would the Convertible set fit the CTS? Any plans to make a set that will fit the rear on a Cadillac CTS if those won't?
Will these work with other cars with pinch welds? I have a 2010 malibu and I'm wondering if these can be put on any pinch weld car (within weight limits obviously).

Get the kind for the car you have. The verts are trimmed down to clear an inner edge.
omg I want these, thank you for the reveiw on them .... what's the cost for the latest model fifth gen?
I think $79.99 for the 5th gen before tax, but use lethal5 to save 5%
LethalGarage you're the shit..... Nuff said
How much does it weigh? This permanent ones compared to the magnetic type with puk
Would these work on a Chevy Cruze??
Thanks for the info, Lethal C. I'm interested. What's the price and availability date?
They are available now. zl1addons.com %79.99 for all 4. use lethal5 and save an additional 5%
I just got an SS 1LE this weekend and am considering these. One concern I have, won't those screws scratch the paint there and open up the potential for rust?
ProperStyle potentially but so would driving the car if you are that worried.

Awesome
If it's the rear end why not just use the rear differential? That's what I've always used.
Think these would work on other cars? I love this idea
+Fox John at ZL1addons makes them for a lot of cars. Hit him up to see if he has them for your car.
Love your videos Matt ! Very helpful..
Would these work on the pinch welds of old classic mustang (69) or are just the new muscle cars?
They will not
I have these lift points on my car would it be ok to let the car rest on jack stands for about 6 months or would it be hard on them
These should not be placed on jack stands
Awesome - ordered! Thanks for sharing.
They have arrived in shiny red aluminum. Build quality looks great. Will install them this weekend. Great communication on my order from ZL1 Addons.
Do you know if anyone makes these for fourth generation 1999 z28? Thanks
If John could get a 4th gen to come visit he could make them for those cars.
Leave on all the time? If so, do they ever fall off?
All the time. Won’t fall off if you tighten the set screws properly
I got a tow hook for my Vette because of your vids. If you had a coupon code that would be great so id order more and you get credit.
Did you use Lethal5 at checkout?
These look like they will work on other makes and models ?
John makes them for a lot of makes and models. You will want to get ones specific for your car as they are slightly different.
I had to lift my car to fix a tire. They showed me where to pit the floor jack. Why would i need these? & the Chevrolet dealership don't use these. I just didn't get it why add something when you don't need them or am i missing something.
You obviously have never seen a pinch weld collapse
Is there any chance they would fall off the car while driving?
If you don’t put them on tight, sure. Mine have been on for a few years without issue
I like them.
I have these now I don’t know where to place the jack stand
Tyron Riggs are you serious?
do you need to use locktite?
thats what i was wondering. I think my paranoia would lead me to putting loctite on just to be safe.
Looks like I could use the Gen 6 pads on my Gen 5 with no issue...
@@rickss69 6th Gen pads will hang down a lot on the 5th Gen platform. The risk of hitting something like a speed bump or debris would be very high,
definitely a must buy
Agree
Just a question if this will fit on a Chrysler 300?
Will this work on a 19' Mustang GT if I also want to add jacking rails? Thanks!
They offer Mustang specific products
Great if you have a car that they make these for ... And if you plan to keep your car for a while ...
I wish things like this existed years ago, my seams are forever pancaked lol
Yeah, it sucks....
what is the use of those
So you never have to worry about jacking up your car from just the pinch weld again.
+David Tunstall I have the same number you do, ping him and he will answer. He has been slammed as of late
LethalGarage ok thanks anyway. Left 3 messages over last 6 days but still no reply
+David Tunstall well he doesn't work weekends and it is Monday morning.
thats cool.
Great product.
You should buy bolt on lift pads for your car to help protect your undercarriage.
I didn't understand where do you put this ... like where is point on the car where I can install .. like is there a mark on the car or something? especially if I installing this in my driveway.. sorry but it wasn't very clear from the video...
It mounts to the pinch welds on your car. Look in your manual to where GM outlines to lift the car and you will see where.
I was legit wondering how the car was up there until you said something 😂 How's my car, Lethal?
Doing good :).... you mean my car :)
i love it
It was last Monday I rang and left a message, Tuesday i emailed and rang, Thursday rang and left a message and today emailed and rang and left a message. I thought with you plugging them from him you might be able to get hold of him easier that's all. Forget i asked
Shit just bought the mag ones
call John he will let you return them
