I gave you a like for your efforts on this video but I have a few things for your consideration: 1) Buy Locking wheel nuts for anti-theft of your nice black rims, 2) Buy a proper breaker bar - I was nervous for you as the jack handle can easily slip off and damage the car or fly up on you and hurt you, 3) Sell your silver rims instead of selling the black ones. The black ones look so good and the stock ones are kind of trash, Chevy should have at least made them black. It just looks so awful silver on a black car. If you keep them , plasti-dip them black or something. 4) If making a pinch weld adapter, make it out of a hard plastic hockey puck instead of that 2x4 wood, the rubber is much stronger. 5) Wash your car/rims/tires before doing this so that the dirt from the rims and tires don't end up in the transport vehicle of said rims and also doesn't get you as dirty when doing this job. Otherwise, I applaud your efforts on this video. I ain't even gonna press you on why you went for a top dog E63, Maserati, but you cheaped out on the Maro and didn't get the SS or ZL1 model. ???
First, thanks for the Like 👍🏽 and checking out my channel. I appreciate it! Thank you for your comments/suggestions. Since that video I did get a extendable ratchet which I use as my breaker bar...much better! Yeah, I miss the black rims. I’m going to put them back on, just need tires. I have been putting it off. Lol...I get that question a lot about the Camaro...it’s our budget friendly vehicle that looks cool. 😄👍🏽🤷🏽♂️. Again thanks and I appreciate the support!
Honestly, your homemade pinch weld adapter is better than what's on the market right now. I bought some "lift pads" from "ZL1 Addons" and their cut-out or slit is too shallow and it still sits on the pinch weld itself rather than on the sides or the base (if we can call it that). In my opinion that defeats the whole purpose of the adapter.
Have you considered using a jack stand as the primary support and the floor jack as secondary? Looks scary to have it up on just the floor jack. I’m gonna swap my wheels and looking to do something similar. I have a 3deg slope in my garage, but will plan to use chokes all around.
Yeah, I normally do. Especially if I’m under the car. To be honest I don’t know why I didn’t use the stands...🤔. Thanks for you comment and good luck on the wheel swap. 👍🏽
I used a piece of 2x4 and sized it to my jack (approx. 4L x 2W inches). The slit is roughly 1inch deep. Maybe a little deeper, but too deep and the wood may split. You could also use a hockey puck, but for some reason I couldn’t find one in local stores 🤷🏽♂️. Good luck 👍🏽
Get yourself a torque wrench! Those bolts are intended to be tightened to 140ftlbs. You're never going to get anywhere near proper torque with that cross wrench.
@@Alex-bh4rj Camaro lugs are M14x1.5 and the appropriate torque for that size of fastener for proper retention is 140ft lbs. While what you are doing may be working for now, you are risking the lug nuts coming loose and a wheel coming off. Why gamble with something like that when when all you have to do iis simply tighten the nuts to the specified torque.
@@nigel_white I been tightening lugs nuts on all my trucks and cars with a four way. To a certain point of tightness they won't come back off and I been doing it over 30 years and going to jack up my new Camaro by the pinch welds like I did back in March when I installed a skip shift eliminator. No damage And no issues. It's all about taking your time and being cautious
amazing solution - i needed 2 sizes for front and rear - saved me days or weeks waiting for adaptors - Thx !!

@@DriveTalkCars what kind of black rims are those and what size tires it takes ? and what kind of camaro you have?
Thank you! I always forget which one to lift the car up with. 🎉
Sweet ride! Thnx for the jack info! 👍
Could you show us how to jack it up and put the axle stands under it.
Was hoping you would show us when I saw them standing by your side.
Waste of time where's the jackstand placement points, other than the jack lift points?

@@JasonJolo98 just get the metal one it’s $10
Off topic, but do you find the acceleration and steering to be more comfortable with the 18 inches vs. the 20s?
I don’t notice any difference. Ride may be a little rougher just due to the smaller/thinner tires.
Good job
Nooo, where do the Jack stands go while it's still on the floor jack??

What are the size of lug nuts on your wheel

Did u put the spare as 18” and the other 3 are 20”!
No, I put the original wheels and tires back on
Thanks
Doing an oil change but one of the pinché welds bent
Oh no, did you have an adapter of some kind or just jacked on the pinch weld?
Slick
always use your jack
get a cordless impact driver
I do need one of those! 👍🏽
How many cars do you own ? Or do you just own the camaro ??
I own the three cars that I work on in my videos. Mercedes E63 AMG, Maserati Ghibli SQ4 and Chevy Camaro LT.

you don't need it that tight lol i hand tight it all the time and works fine
