    My family and friends went to Bridgeport every opening for about 24 years. We were coming from Stockton, so I was nearly always taking 88 to Markleeville & traveling south from there. But in all that time I never ventured further south than Virginia Lakes. Your videos showing all these areas down to Bishop and beyond are like a siren call I can't hardly ignore. I want to save up a little cash and spend a couple months exploring these places...haha...and it's all your fault! Thank you for another great video.

      Our family fished the june lake loop since the 1960's. Used to camp right on rush creek. Great memories there.

      @@mtyhntr49 Sounds like a great way to grow up! My father used to work for a general contractor who would build logging roads in the Sierras. At 9 until about 14 every summer my father would take me with him for 2 or 3 weeks at a time 30 miles off the nearest highway crossing small streams that had zero fishing pressure. I don't remember my dad ever playing catch with me but we went trout fishing a thousand times together and I wouldn't change any of it!

    That long-handled net is the ticket for those high banks. You’re the only fisherman I’ve seen use one. Looks like a useful item though!
    I used to love fly fishing the Owens. Nothing to interfere with the backcast! And loads of fish!

      I need that thing in a lot of places. I don't want to hoist fish into a dry net. It also shortens the fight with larger trout which is good for them and my nerves!

    Another awesome video? A few questions. How big was that at brownie, about 24"? Just curious if spinners would work here? Is there anywhere to disperse camp near the Upper Owens? Thanks, can't wait for the next video!

    • @wildernesswithamani1027
      @wildernesswithamani1027  20 дней назад

      I think dispersed camping is allowed all over in that Benton Crossing road area but you would need to confirm that. I figured that brown to be near or over 20" but at the very least it was close to it.

      Who knows. It might be because I work a lot, drive a lot, hike a lot, fish a lot, and exercise a lot but it's something that usually kicks in when I am tired when I start driving or it's the tail end hours of a long drive. I think it's just fatigue. I typically leave my house around 4am-5am for long trips.

      I got this action upstream from Browns but I do pretty good in the section between Browns and the Lake. I typically fish that later in the Fall when the campground is closed. I have at least one video where I am fishing in browns campground after it's closed. The fishing isn't bad in there.

    Nice Brown! What line did you change out to?

    • @wildernesswithamani1027
      @wildernesswithamani1027  22 дня назад

      I always use 6lb trilene xl mono. I didn't need to here but on wider rivers I can whip my jigs really far on my 5' ultra light rod with that stuff. I just change my line often because I like a full spool and fresh line. I put a beating on my line with all of the fishing I do.
