The scene when she returns home to her family and they immediately welcome her back into their lives, after what I can only assume would be years of no contact, absolutely breaks me each time. Billy Joel's "Vienna" playing just makes the scene that much better. Regardless of how well some things have aged, the heart in this movie is beautiful.

PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the One True Only God YHWH Jehovah, Only One Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son and Lord and Savior of our souls and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus is Lord. Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it!
I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died.
God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Be baptized in The Holy Spirit, and if He wills, water as well. Repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him.
Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible.
The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil".
LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Just watched this again recently. Not gonna lie; other than being a little annoyed with how Matt didn't come clean to either woman when he recognized what he was doing was wrong, it was REALLY great how Jenna accepted the rejection. Yes, she came for the last-chance begging, but she didn't make a scene or try to hurt the bride. "I want you to be happy because I love you," is underrated and glossed over, but is such a mature and healthy response to rejection.

@luckyinugirl1816 he was hanging out with Jenna and not setting boundaries with her and when his fiancee showed up, he didn't fess up either. It's only innocent until he felt the need to hide his activities.
I get that might seem unrealistic or restrictive to some, but I'd much rather have a partner that shares who they are spending time with and what they did than someone who tucks things away or "forgets" to tell me when an old flame shows up to hang out and chat.

One thing I'll say for this movie: it didn’t do the "love-interest ditches fiancé in favor of protagonist" cliché.
Ruffalo's character was tempted. But but he stuck to his commitment and Gardner's character had to face the consequences of her past actions.
Now, time-travel gave her a second chance, but the fiancé never had to get screwed over to make it happen.

@Kwildcat13I agree, Therese something less appealing about Wendy. It’s probably jealousy popping up and her adult rational side tamping it down. Great performance from a side character with very little screen time.
But honestly, if you were this character: who wouldn’t be a little nervous and suspicious but try to play it off as “not insecure” if their fiancé was suddenly hanging out with their old middle school BFF who he had been really close with in middle school and then dissed him so she could be cool.
If they had any kind of intimate communication, he probably would have told her about his middle school and HS experiences.
Wendy didn’t do anything remotely wrong. She didn’t even do anything rude or unfriendly. Literally she’s so nice except not showing interest in learning more about Jenna who suddenly showed up.

What I really like about some early 2000s films is that the male love interests aren’t mister chad faces. I keep seeing modern attempts at the same sort of romance and it’s just the most generic attractive guy and then a model and then they kiss. When there are LOADS of male actors who are favourites among women that would probably fork over a leg to see as a love interest in a romcom. Women don’t just swoon over appearances but also the sweet personality of an actors portrayal. Honestly I think there just needs to be better writing across the board if romcoms are to work again!

Could not agree more. The best part of this movie is the relationship between Jenna and Matty because they actually feel like real people who have genuine reasons for being in love with the other. Like you said, we used to get more of these romances in the past. Nowadays, people fall in love with very generically good looking people with very little personality. Apart from indie stuff, we pretty much never see the interesting/more talented actors being romantic leads (Driver, Ruffalo, Bernthal, Fassbender, Phoenix, Kaluuya etc.).

This movie is so weird. It's not like freaky friday, but this 30-year old woman just randomly wakes up one day with completely selective amnesia, thinking she was only 13 yesterday, but actually lived the 17 years in-between, and just completely forgot them. That's not whimsical, or magical or special. That's not even good old janitor who might be god or santa magic. That's a medical condition!

Ok, but she ended up going back to fix things, so it was magic

I'm sure coincidental but I like how Alex points to the J Lo magazine cover when he says "stealing ideas."
