Tahu Nuva's mask makes him look wise and also a little bit older. Like the Tahu mask was his teen-age face and the Tahu Nuva mask is his grown-up face.
The idea behind the "organic" mask is like rollout was saying they fell into that pit and became changed or mutated. If you look closely with the mask comparison it looks like the original mask is underneath the rapid growth of the mutation
Definitely for the hau nuva, the eye and mouth holes are the same and you can still see the top of the upper vent. But for other kanohi nuva it's a different story
Tahu Nuva has been and always will be my favourite Bionicle set. So much so that the very same one that I got all the way back in 2002 is still sitting at the top of my bookshelf in my room, in silent vigil forevermore.
This was my very first Bionicle as a child. It was my favorite one, because of its Terminator-esque design and most especially because of that magma-board feature. I was a bit disappointed that you don't really like Tahu Nuva's design that much, but I appreciate how your review had the least amount of bias over its design as possible. All in all, thanks for making a good review on a good Bionicle. It really tapped into my inner nostalgia, and added a new twist to it: in a good way, of course. :)
Fun fact, Tahu nuva and Onua nuva's instruction manuals actually have you build them with the gears on both his shoulders, and shows the black pin on their left ams as the "secondary function". On all the other toa nuva they showed you the black pin on the left shoulder as primary function, and had the double-sided gear function os the secondary
I think the organic looking masks is because there organic parts such as there intestines,muscle,and tissue must have reacted drastically to the energized proto durmus must have had what little organic parts they had to speared over there masks cussing them to fuse together and know has the same characteristics of there adaptive armor and the masks and toa are know two separate beings like the toa inka

Surprisingly this is the first time i have ever heard of the ability to use the gear for the left arm to lock the other arm in place...and i was getting Toa Nuva sets back when they were on the shelves and i actually had to look up the instructions for Tahu to see if this was an idea by a fan or not and turns out to be in the instructions...wow XD

Gali and Tahu's nuva masks are the only ones I liked. Gali's wasn't as organic and vaguely samurai-like which I found cool and Tahu's always looked like a rose to me which I found visually interesting

Yeah. Each of the Toa Nuva come with an extra ball joint. There's no place for them on the individual Toa, but they're used in the Kaita Nuva.
