- Today... At the edge of our hope, at the end of our time, we have chosen not only to believe in ourselves, but in each other. Today there is not a brother or sister in here that shall stand alone. Not today. Today we face the monsters that are at our door and bring the fight to them! Today, we are CANCELIN' the BOHROK-ALYPSE!

I enjoy the fact that you're basically playing with a robot in a robot.
Don't forget Mata Nui itself being a Giant Robot, so if you use your imagination, you're playing with a robot inside 2 robots.
Inception.
Prince Perot Yah but the island of Mata Nui was technically outside the robot
Like a human playing inside a human
@@wilsonelder5277 Yeah but I think the Bohrok nest was just inside the robot.
Turaga: Toa! Why did you leave your armour?
Tahu (official story): They hindered our elemental powers, we had no choice.
Pohatu (the truth): 14:51 Tell...no one.
Too bad I'm going to tell everyone
lol the posing of the naked gali and pohatu consoling the other pohatu were so funny
Great video!
😀
Yeah lol
Ikr lol
I feel like this would be hilarious to animate just because of pohatu having to be upside down.
*pohatu enters in exo suit*
Tahu: "come on, man."
Pohatu: *muffled screaming*
What on earth is that profile pic

Trust me, it's no fun.
it should be canon
Poor Pohatu. 1 like is one hug for the poor guy

ECH... This was probably the single most stressful review I've ever produced. I usually make it a point NOT to ask for this kind of thing, but in this case a like, comment, or favorite would sure make this one seem a whole lot more worth it. Thanks a million for your patience and continued support, guys! :-)
Nah, it's fine, the review turned out great! I agree with all the points you made, the articulation definitely looks rough. At the end of the day, though, if I can find it for a good price, I still think I'm gonna buy it.
I always enjoy these opening sequences.
Nick on Planet Ripple ikr the exposition provided shows he really does care about the lore.
Nick on Planet Ripple ok
Wow hey nick! I didn’t know you watched ixrolloutix
Same
Me too I enjoy them
I would like to see a moc of this that adds all the articulation to the legs, and better articulation to the boxing claw, because this set really needs it
and pohatu compatibility
Nuparu with his Inika head would aid the Toa by being an inventor, medic, and mask maker.
My god
I had no idea Lego actually produced an Exo-Toa model, I just knew it was a character through an encyclopedia up to Mahri Nui
WOW
These are the sets I remember fondly. They may have some design flaws, but they actually had soul and character to them. As the series progressed, the sets had more and more special pieces to the point of entire characters being comprised almost purely of specially caste parts that could serve little purpose outside their original set. They became less of "Complex building experiences" and more of "Action figure: Some assembly required". Really wish the revival of Bionicle had gone back to its roots, but I think Hero factory killed that chance
+Cole Jenkins (The Commander) Nice to hear these sentiments - I very much agree with the thought that the older sets had soul and character. It seems there was a bit of an attempt to get something similar with the 2015 Toa, but it didn't work that well.
Personally I feel that 2001-04 were the years when the characters had the most visual character
Jim F Whaaaat? The 2015 sets are some of the most character-imbued waves out there! For once, the Toa don't look like multicolored copies of each other; they look like actual characters! Look at their body structures, their weapons, their armor placement. There's so much communicated there. Their builds aren't just boring wave-one Hero Factory constructions either- compare how simple a 2001 Toa is to the complex gear functions and frame of 2015 Onua.
I have fond memories of the 2001 Toa too, but the 2015 FIGURES are so much better. The story and supplemental material of G2 can't even compare to G1 though, it's so...basic.
Zapkido I like the 2007 figs better with stuff like lewas air ship and the barraki
well hero factory brain attack had rocka in some kind of jetpack
So sad bionicle was cancelled again
Yeah it's so unfair.
I'm happy G2 was canceled, that insult to Bionicle was terrible. What is sad is that G1 was canceled
@@Lupinemancer87 Piss off, your(and everybody else who only trash talked G2) hatred for the reboot is part of the reason it flopped before it could reach it's true potential.
The CQB’s Essay ikr
But hey, maybe they'll continue it again.like last time
this guy has amazing story telling skills
these reviews are so theatrical, it's no wonder that this video is so easy to come back to and enjoy a multitude of times. it also probably helps that the exo-toa is friggin awesome
I think all the "open" endings could be used for upgrades to the exo-suit. Like on the arms you could totally find a way to General Grievous that
"C'mon guys, you had one joooob!"
This made me laugh harder than it should've.
How I love to see about 360 Technic pieces all together.
Truely amazing and awesome.
Is it just me, or does the Exo-Toa's head look like Sidorak?
Brandon Lo yup, it does
I had Sidorak...you're not wrong.
Its looks more like sidorak then Sidorak
Looks more like a Bohrok-Va to me, but I can see Sidorak.
u shall ask, Does Sidorak look like Exo-Toa head, cuz Exo Toa was first :D
That unarmored gali still is the funniest Bionicle picture I've ever seen
Looks like something out of Pacific Rim.
Viper678 Productions i agree
Viper678 Productions read the end of the description. XD
Josh T because of the long legs and bulky body armour it resembles the Jipsy Danger
Pohatu Mata in the Exo Toa is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
15:10 Gali's like, "EEEK! Don't look!"
Gali Nuva naked
Too late
Y’know, Gali’s a woman…
BAMBOOZLED
Gail the stripper
Such a cool design. The pistons and vent-like Roborider pieces really evoke the feeling of steampunk technology, which was absolutely what they were going for. I agree that the lack of knee articulation was a huge missed opportunity, and it's the kind of design choice that really encourages you to moc a bit.
Your reviews are so fun! They always make me smile and your points are well thought out and articulated - great work.
More articulated than the Exo-Toa
I need two of those in order to cannibalize one and improve the other
14:51 Upside-down Pohatu XD
hey +Toa BionicleFactory i built my own bionicle stars exo toa armor moc that the bionicle stars toa can pilate plus.google.com/u/0/+thomasmurphypokemon/posts/a6E3qT8s7wU
Thomas Murphy cool
+Toa BionicleFactory thanks
Thomas Murphy np
hey Toa BionicleFactory i think the origin story of the exo toa is when some robo rider maniac went fucking shit crazy smashed up all of his robo riders and made a giant exo suit out of the robo riders corps XD because they had other robo rider pieces like the exo toa's legs and rear end is made out of robo rider body pieces and the armor pieces
Wow! I really love those recreations of the old promotional images with the actual sets! I'm loving this channel already!
Fantastic review! I usually don't say anything about your reviews as they are always good, but this one deserves a complement. It was just SO hilarious watching the funny pictures like Gali being naked, Pohatu (or was it Onua?)consoling his nuva version and just your narrating alone, was so good. Never stop reviewing toys ,and I will never stop supporting you.
Keep up the great work!
This is the type of complexity and function I feel CCBS has yet to offer. Sets like these were absolute best! I'll take variety, functions, and good builds over articulation any day. Though the durability of the new pieces is highly appreciated.
I had to buy six for my son to reanact the 2001-2003 story line
I’m so sorry for you.
You truly loved your son
Did you end up with six or seven Tahus?
Ouch, those guys weren't cheap...

Hey, Rollout. First time commenting on a video and I'd like to say I thoroughly enjoy your reviews. They're fun and informative, but what I really love about them are your storytelling segments. This and the Boxor review are, to me, prime examples of how you recreate key scenes from that year and I love how you managed to articulate the Toa's necks to make them more dynamic. It always puts me in a mood to break out what 2001-2003 sets I have and start building. Sorry for such a long comment, but I just wanted to voice my thoughts here. =)
I love you're story introductions. Very cinematic, really cool!
somebody won a subscription:D
love how you not only tell the toy's storyline but actually show it in little scenes/dioramas:D you are a very good storyteller and you put forth information clear and well:) you have actual fun!
and oh good lord did i adore this set! with just a few repeated elements it gave off a very imposing and impressive mecha style:D and the gears faux pistons and even he gaps made it look suffciently mechanical:D
also have no idea if Gali was doing the birth of venus or just generic hiding of shame XD i wanna say former due to her status of being both a water elemental and the only female:D
10/10
16:30 I couldn’t agree more!(this was a story based series)... my only regret is that I never got the set when I was interested in it,... but I had all the toa mata(I also regret missing out on the toa nova sets), so much missed enjoyment...
But you have helped me for what I never wanted to miss out on in this video!
Time will only tell if I get my hands on this and the other sets I missed out on very sadly.
So I wanted to thank you for this video... it really helps... ;)
Great review! So much nostalgia and so many good photos! I never had an Exo-Toa so it was very interesting to see how it works.
I think Pohatu needs to stand on his "toes" to fit in the Exo-Toa, but the arms will stick out awkwardly.
This makes the Exo Toa a follow up to Boxor- Wait...
I have this set and recently updated it with friction joints that can connect with the pin and axel beams and it works so much better!
This is definitely one of my favorite sets, I love the way the head retracts.
Bruh this is like one of the best review videos I've seen
That description is beautiful.
I forgot all about this. I remember seeing this in my instructions i think as a kid and thinking it was the coolest thing ever
14:20 all the Toa are in a really battle ready stance, then Onua is just peekin' his head out like: "Huy guhys!"
Wait
Bohrok came from underground and the Toa fought the queens using Exo Toa, a.k.a. giant mechs.
Then, in 2014, monster thingies (that I don't know the name of) came from underground and was fought with giant mechs.
Was Hero Factory: Invasion from Below just a rehatch of the Bohrok stuff?
I like the Pacific Rim reference.
My money can not leave my wallet fast enough
What's wrong with the chest? I think it looks just fine. I dont get it.
adoboawesome yeah
It only "looks weird" to me because there isn't a Toa figure inside of it, so it looks more empty than it should.
Man, 2001 has a lot of experimental and strange sets.
14:49 sums up my entire life.
Well i would like to see something similar for 2015 sets and i think that ther could be 2 versions (speciall one for Onua with hiss much wider and shorter body construction) or something like addaptation system, that allows to change the shape of armor, depending on user's figure. well probably LEGOwon't make it themselfs, so probably people playing with custom modeling will think something out.
Oh man, I used to own that lego. I had so much fun playing it. Breaking it down and building it again. I even which a few parts to make it cooler. Adding some red or blue depending which Toa I use
I remember getting this set for Christmas a long time ago
This video was so good man!!!
I've been seeing people do Toa builds in other colors, say a Red Kopaka for example. Wonder how difficult it'd be to do that with the Exo-Toa, make a set of six that actually match the Toa piloting them.
15:49 this is weirdly wholesome
Best video description I’ve ever read.
Poor Pohatu... I cri evrytim
14:55 Pohatu, you're drunk...
Pohatu: YOU DON'T HAVE AN EXCUSE!
Pohatu go home ... NOW!!!!!!!!
Pixl is Tony Bamanaboni your profile pic?
Pixl Oh wait no lmao, it isn't the meme version
Pohatu:(falls asleep)
I remember wanting this set so bad. And when I managed to get one, I was so extatic I completely overlooked its downsides, ie the lack of articulation. Also, having no Rahi or Borhok queen, the slapping arm was kind of awkward. Yet this was the single most awesome set I ever had (it's a mech!!!).
I’d love to see u review later bionicle years like the toa hordika or toa inika
imagine having 6 of these, each fitting their respective Toa perfectly
i burst out laughing when you put pohatu into the exo toa XD
15:47 haha I love that joke that was so smooth
Wait, I just realized a plot hole: the the bohrok existed to cleanse mata nui in preparation for his Awakening, wouldn't that mean the great beings would have to know in advance that teridax would betray him?
Nah. Mata Nui would observe other planets by camouflaging itself as well, and it was up to the Bohrok to clean any of that camouflage away in all situations. When the GSR crashes into Aqua Magna and its face is exposed above the water, that protocol still functions and the island is formed. Makuta releases the Bohrok pre-maturely, and for them it's just another job.
RolloutReviews Fair enough, that works I suppose. And I suppose all the other things the Nuva did were just a failsafe plan if the GSR died. Though I wonder how the mask of life returned to Voya nui from the codrex after the first time it was used?
The Codrex is just for jump-starting the robot awake, and the Mask of Life isn't technically required. To heal Mata Nui, you only need to dawn the Ignika within Karda Nui. Before the Great Cataclysm, Voya Nui was part of the Southern Continent inside the GSR's chest, which is located right above Karda Nui (like how Metru is below Mata). Basically, the Chambers of Life lead right to the core of the universe, so it wasn't too hard for Jovan's team to return the mask afterward.
RolloutReviews Ah, got my ordering mixed up, forgot Jovan's team happened before the great cataclysm. It feels good to talk about the lore again, thanks!
Heyo IX, around 10:40 to get the front locking mechanism to actually lock on its own, why don't you try to put the rubber band through the pin hole on the orange piecedoes that work?
at least now for hero factory, they made the heroes small to fit inside a cockpit
EXCELLENT VIDEO !!!!
This was my first Bionicle Titan set. Unfortunately I have lost it over the years. I definitely need to reaquire it.
My cahdok is missing one of those tubes on it's back handle thing..... TO BRICKLINK!
So which one is Cahdok and which one is Gahdok?
@@fighterx9840 Believe it or not, the red one is Gahdok, while the blue one is Cahdok, apparently
@@matthewkuscienko4616 oh really?
@@fighterx9840 Yeah, apparently. If you look at his review video of the set on this channel, it's mentioned there as well
@@matthewkuscienko4616 oh ok
I would of loved an "Ultimate BattlePack" of sorts as a kid with these, with the set coming with one suit along with it's Toa rider, and perhaps a special collection of Golden Masks to go along with the Toa, in context with their appearance in the comic?
Honestly, Bionicle sets with no neck articulation really don't bug me. As long as their eyes are translucent, you can kind of position them just right so the light makes it look like their eyes are slanted, looking off to the side. This is what I do with a couple of the Transformers I have on my shelf, and what I plan to do when my LBX Hunter gets in.
realy good review. Next time maybe Makuta and his Rahkshi? Plz?
One of the Best Bionicles ever made, although its not a charater, but a suit of armour, a suit that although gives amazing powers to those who wear it, it haves a very dark secret.....
Its drains the elemental powers of the Toa. If the Toa Mata had continued to use the Exo-Toa agaisnt the Bahrag, a crushing defeat would be evident for the Toa.
Besides that inconvenient, Its a GREAT set, and enjoyed to build him for 2 days.
One of the best experiences I ever had!
do you think you could do a video of putting some of the newer toa and matoran in a boxer/exo toa? it would be extremely strange looking but could also be pretty funny and cool to see
how many robo rider heads do you want?
this set: yes
Bionicle's EXO Squad
I feel I should mention... Later on (like 2006 or so, I think) it was revealed that the Exo-Toa were designed and used by the Brotherhood of Makuta. It would make complete sense for Teridax to have disabled the AI of these six and left them there planning on the Toa trying and failing to use them to defeat the Bahrag.
I loved the Exo-Toa but never bought it myself. I did have enough other sets to replicate it quite closely with off-colour parts.
I kinda want to get this set, but I'm thinking about making a moc of this (for extra posability and stuff :P)
Love those poses lol
12:31 that orange latch looks so inappropriate lmaoooo
Wow
A very detailed review, this is
Yoda?
Nice Pacific Rim reference in the description
they look like Dark Troopers, so cool!
15:08 15:48 Lmao I appreciate your sense of visual humour
You got me dead @15:09
I think the orange accents make this particular exo-toa designated for Tahu. You could probably pretty easily change those parts out to match it to another Toa, though.
My main problem with the Exo-Toa is that it's too damn small in my opinion for when the Toa are piloting them. I know they were designed for various reasons, guarding the Makuta's Destral Fortress, defend against a possible premature release of the Bohrok, or an army. Yet for when the Toa get inside them, I can't help but think it should be more like one of the Iron Man suits which in terms of a set would be ludicrously expensive but eh.
If the boxor was the baby mech. This is the grand-daddy of all mechs!.
Kind of wished they re-released this with an attachment for the Boxor to cling onto it or maybe support for the Boxor. Imagine a robot in a mech, inside another mech!
Given how the toa had access to their masks, the thrusters could be used for proper flight using their Mirus.
I know IX's videos are amazing and great reviews and more but my favorite parts are teh poses that IX puts the figures in(Thumbnails mainly!)
awesome i got the blue bohrok it is cool and my first one ;D
There needs to be a recreation of this armor. A sort of moc of this.
A moc that can fit the gen 2 toa maybe?
15:09 man, quarentine really is getting to me...
Never could have thought that Bionicle could be played like Titanfall
When are the 2003 reviews coming? It's been years since you concluded '02
It looks so cool
Ahh that old time when bionicle is 80% tecnic pieces and not ccbs
kuuhaku 「」 It had a very charming look to it.
Ccbs is more durable, but that's the only good thing about it
@@eagleheart2203 i like the look of the new one better.
@@kaenryuuart543 and you are completely entitled to that opinion, I just disagree
One of the biggest advantages of ccbs in my opinion is how much greater a degree of possibility you can get when building a figure, due to how many ball joints are used in the bone pieces. Bearing that in mind, I personally think it's a bit of a shame that they still never produced any official Bionicle sets with waist articulation
My favorite bionicle ever.
The first time I saw a picture of the Exo-Toa, I thought it was Makuta.
