"A fancy cover wrapped around some words"
This is unironically one of the most beautiful descriptions of literature I have heard
I love it
I love the Rob Zombie cameo with Mary's Friends
Between breaking up White Zombie and releasing Dragula he was hanging out with teens.
Why did Doc call him “the shape?” His name is Jason!
That's a common misconception he's actually called The Springwood Slasher
Actually Jason is from Friday the 13th. In Halloween the antagonists name is Michael Myers, but in the end credits of the film he's referenced as "The Shape" simply because that's what John Carpenter referred to him as.
Is this a serious question?
Surely, you gest...
No I think that’s ligma 😮
@@Maverick5ukno, that’s the guy from Nightmares on Elmstreet.”
I just listened to the Scream Factory audiobook so this timing couldn't be creepily better.
Ah yes, excessive relationship drama and nothing but bad decisions with a backdrop of a slasher story; this is a true, color-by-numbers young adult horror book
These 3 books feel like generic teen romances they added Halloween elements to last minute.
I'm surprised that Mary's dad is the guy from Office Space. Also, it would be great to see the Friday the 13th and Elm St YA books get reviewed.
Why didn't Mary fall in love with Michael? That would really sell books to YA.
Great video! Thanks for the creaking door effect. ....as I was alone on patio and thought someone was in the house😂
Hahaha Mary wants to keep living got me 🤣🤣
Waited so long for this! Scream Factory reading is a must read for that Halloween feeling
The 2nd was had the peak of suspense from my listen a couple years back. Everything at the cemetery was always chilling...
Doc, I don't know if you, yourself did your art for your 2d cutouts, but it's VERY watchable. Keep it up!
This video will be going into my halloween playlist, thanks doc.
Here's hoping you can do audiobooks for all 3 of these.
That'd be great if he did that
If you're looking for all three that are already done and available, check out The 80s Slasher Librarian here on RUclips. He reads all the books for horror icons and others, and that includes Halloween. He has the novelizations and these YA books. There's even a bonus entry for This title.
Seriously, check it out. He's a great reader. Different than Wolfula but just as fun with excellent sound effects and great Halloween music
I'm very familiar with Slash Trax/The 80's Slasher Librarian, but thanks for the suggestion.
@@Hum0ng0us No problem.
Maybe others that read through the thread will learn about him, too.
It's a very cool channel
I love the obscure stuff. Thanks for shining some light on it Doc.
Excellent review Doc! Always happy to get more Halloween coverage. Not going to hold my breath, but I think it'd be cool if these inspire horror fans to write their own novels.
Cyd, you are an extremely underrated talent. Rock on, bro!
Hello Doctor Wolfula. I love all things Halloween and your channel. I enjoyed your drawings. They made me feel like I was watching a stop-motion cartoon of "Scooby Doo and the gang vs. Michael Myers."
Just what I need right now. A new Dr.Wolfula video. 👍
that's crazy, I was just wondering when you would drop another one of these videos. Big fan of your animation style Doc!
I absolutely loveeeee these Halloween books reviews keep going !
Your audiobook reading of the scream factory was awesome🤘🏼. Hope you do a audiobook reading of this and the third one that would be so awesome.
GOOD VIDEO, I LIKE the visual support with the 2d cutouts
Neat review and comically using the cutouts was a neat treat
I like that Rob is illustrated to look like a young Rob Zombie
Been waiting so long. Loved the first one
Great video!!! Love this series
I'm always coming back to the first video so this made me extremely happy
Never heard of these before. I'll have to check out the book readings you did.
So hyped to check out the audio book
Love this series doc! I had a great time listening to the audio book! Please do the last book in this trilogy soon! Then maybe the Freddy and Jason books? ❤❤❤❤❤
Doc should review the fear street books next
“Turn the page.. wash your hands.. turn the page..wash your hands..”
Is that from the simpsons?
@@porkchopexpress84 Rockos Modern Life
Another AWESOME review, Doc. Looking forward to your full reading of the novel. Loved the animation. What type of program did you use for the animation? It was GREAT.
Doc's version of Mary looks like Daria on heroin. I can't stop laughing at it
Keep these going Doc! I doubt these books will be covered to this extent anytime soon
I was born in 1997 Dictor Wolfula your channel is very creative unique and amazing
8:15 The Myers house and 1428 Elm Street. 2 places no one should want to live in but do anyway.
Audiobooks, you say? You just convinced me to join your Patreon.
15:20 the merkins Michael Myers music video “slice slice baby” portrayed Mike in a convertible with the license plate, “the Shape” 😂❤
I feel like for the next Halloween reboot they should adapt these novels and kinda just remove most of the teen romance and have more the Michael killing people parts since that’s the reason why a lot people go to these movies anyway
Better late than never, thanks Doc!
Not Mary White’s bf selling speed to the cops 🤦🏾♂️
The Kang and Kodos reference is the tops
I like how you made the dad Lumbergh from Office Space.
Thanks for the shoutout Doc!
I like how that Michael Myers doll is getting his “ Burt Reynolds sexy pose” going on lol
I would think that in real life, if there were a seemingly unstoppable superhuman/supernatural serial killer who targeted the same small town every Halloween, they would have the local police, state police, and maybe the national guard waiting for him to take him down. If that did not work, I would think that the governor of the state and/or the state legislature would see to it that the town was evacuated every October.
You should’ve seen the Childs’s play novelizations
Meh! At least Michael does more kills in this book than he did in Halloween Ends. Not too bad. Although I do agree that the book focuses way too much on the romance and drama side of things. Other than that, it sounds like a pretty good sequel if it was made. But that's not saying much lol Great video, Doc! Keep it up!
I've somehow developed a fascination for these things thanks to these two videos from you. I know it's going to be weird, but horror is actually pretty popular among teenagers. I mean, this is probably the first forbidden thing you'll probably watch when you're young (except the other dirty films).
and let's face it Halloween is a showpiece next to Friday the 13th, the film of shit that really had a lot of teenagers as an audience. But yes, I generally find it somehow interesting to see how these interpretations can be by individual artists. As I said, with film you need many more cooks, so it's interesting to see how a medium like a book or comic is interpreted.
In general, I also find it interesting to see more things like that here, i.e. the adoption of the well-known horror, what works, what doesn't work. and how did this already have a video with the Texas chainsaw game.
I have to admit, when you came to the rating for the book, I'm surprised you didn't rate it an "Asshole John out of a Big John & Little John", considering the nature of the John from H6. :p
Maybe Julifer's friend Michelle could be called Mich-Hell.
Love the artwork, Awaiting the third book. I always thought the one thing missing in the Halloween series was mushy teen romance, well that and bullets that work.
12:54
But that's my favorite RL Stine book.
Fuck yeah!! I've been looking forward this. The _Scream Factory_ vid is one of my favourites, I've even got the audiobook downloaded onto my phone, and I'm so glad to finally be able to add this to the rotation as well!
P.S. I'd kill to have the Kelly O'Rourke trilogy in comic book form with this artstyle. KILL, ya hear?!
So the revenge thing from the last book is never explained?
Actually, I think the last book of the series features the conclusion of the whole revenge thing...At least, I think it does.
Love the cartoon Myers in this 🎃🔪⚡
HERE AT LAST!
I would love to know what goes on in those Freddy Krueger books, even if it takes four years to read.
Does anyone know the background music Doc uses ? Its in the Kills and Ends reviews and I love it so much haha
"Julifer" is a clumsy portmanteau.
Nice.
Fear Street had underage alcohol use. It's not surprising.
I think we need a collab with The Horror Geek!
I didn't know halloween had a book i knew of the comic's
i feel like Kelly O'Rourke only had a passing knowledge of the original movie so that's why there are so many inconsistencies with the "canon" lore of the franchise.
The greatest
Would you be interested in talking about the jason or freddy books?
Clearly, David Gordon Green read these books at one point. Too many parallels
If you ever need some animations for a video? Holler at me. I'll do it free bc i love the channel
For the next one, you can do the animation with AI
I miss the old days, before he went animated..
Eyy
These three books are SO awful and I read them every year. They defy logic and were edited with the prowess of a roadkill chicken and yet I love them.
Wow so this book was actually copied by David Gordon green? Didn’t expect that 😂
The authors original ending was a bit too realistic, after all any exonerating evidence was destroyed in the fire.
🔪🔪🔪
Nice.
