MF 135 here(not sure the year). One year after brother in law died when he flipped it on himself, I finally got around to seriously trying to get it running again and drove it half mile or so to get it back to his property. Been on cousin’s all this time. Complete novice on tractors but it’s finally home on his 47th birthday. Being that it was flipped for 3 or 4 hours, everything ran out. No hydraulics available so had to leave bottom plows (for now) and couldn’t get out first gear. Can I likely just fill and check hydro fluid to get that part to work.
Sorry to hear that story about your brother in law. Alot of people who aren't around this stuff don't realize how difficult and dangerous it is operating the farm equipment that feeds the world and takes care of our lands. The next tractor I buy will have roll bars as a precautionary. Checking the fluid and adding some if needed would be a good start. It has to have enough fluid to run through the hydraulic pumps.
Can you change the filter without draining the fluid? My fluid is fine and I’m not having any issues but I figure a new filter will help prevent future problems.
You might could take out the bottom screw of the shifter plate and let the fluid drain down to that level. You would have to add fluid back in. If you do all that its about the same amount of work as changing out the fluid.
Very informative video, I didn't realize these tractors even had an internal oil filter..wonder if my 8N has one like that? As an aside, I have noticed several of these tractors listed for sale on Marketplace listed as "Massive Fergusons"..I wonder is that is some type of AI generated typo, or are people really thinking that is what they are?....
Warning, my TO35 calls for straight mineral oil. I used universal oil and have had nothing but trouble since. Getting ready to do a complete rebuild of the system. It has something to do with some bronze parts inside. It got to where it would barely lift a thing.
Litle difrent from 35 this 135, of funktions...whit the dipstick and 135 have multpower too, have ask me many times whay tracktors in us have gasoline enginges and not diesel.. .
The link in the description contains oil that will work. If you zoom in on the bucket it will say what it meets. I would go to an auto parts store though and see if they have it. It will be a generic bucket but should say it will work for Massey fergusson and meets the M-1129A oil. Honestly I don't think you have to be too picky. It'll probably be better than the old oil that you have in there.
could you please tell me what is the filter is call or part number and where l can get one or order it please / and a new gasket for the cover.. also where can l get new boots for the steering controls ? also the hand crank on my 3 pioty hitch is broken it turn but nothing moves, have you ever done a video on this too, thank you so much in advance, Vince
Hi Vince, thanks for the comment. Check the video description for links to the gasket and filter. I have never replaced the boot on the steering controls. I dont have a video for it, but I had the same problem you are experiencing on the the adjustable linkage. May be easy to repair but I ended up buying the whole arm from ebay. See link below. www.ebay.com/itm/353806087007
Dear Tractor companies why don’t most of you find an old lorry Frame or even rebuild a brand New Lorry Frame for building stronger and better Tractors and put those Scania N113, Volvo B10M, Volvo D10A, Volvo TD102KF, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel engines and put on all of those Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic 4 and 5 Speed Gearboxes for those stronger better Tractors so they can still use them for any farms and even use them for the Mechanics so they can even lift a broken down Bigger Buses and also lift all of the broken down Lorries, why don’t you build 6 and 7 seats so that other passengers can sit at the back and front including the driver. You can still build those four small stronger medium sizes wheels and still make them even more useful for the Mechanic farm tractor than it still was before, please can you do those interesting ideas for us tractor Lovers.
Just wondering that to and he did say he cut the wire off in the comments but never put it back on but they need the wire to hold them in the book at least who knows
Thanks, I need to do that on my 135 just like yours and I didn't know the procedure.👍👍
Your Welcome hope this helps!

I'm sure the 8n has a hydraulic filter as well like this. That is probably an autocorrect but may be a scam bot.
Great video! Quick question, what hydraulic fluid do you use? Thx
M-1129A or equivalent. Look on the bucket and see if it is listed.
Have an mf20 industrial didn't know there was a filter inside the transmission.
Yeah mine had a safety wire attached to keep it from spinning off that I had to cut. I didnt put it back on.

It calls for M-1129A oil. Can't find that anywhere. What oil did you use?

Try A&I products. They have an 135 section
Steiner's Tractor parts or Yesterday's Tractor's. I ordered one for my Massey 175 from Steiner's
What kind of oil and hydraulic oil should be used for the MF35?
M-1129A or equivalent

Is the Massey 135 and 35 similar?
Just nomenclature same thing
One has direct injection on the Perkins..and I believe the 135 has indirect inject

Need to find the hydraulic filter for 253 Massey Ferguson
Here is the link for the 135 Hydraulic Filter shown in the video. There might be one for a 253 on there too.

Is part of the video missing or what happened to changing the hydraulic filter? saw it pointed out but never changed.
Just wondering that to and he did say he cut the wire off in the comments but never put it back on but they need the wire to hold them in the book at least who knows
There’s nothing in this video about the filter.🤦♂️
Link to filter in the description. At 3:40 mark I point out the filter. Screw the top cap off and pull the old filter out and replace with new filter.
