You are getting more and more confident with the mechanical work in every video it's great to see it and you have the wealth of knowledge around you with your father , what that man has forgotten , not too many will ever learn .
Hello from Saskatchewan Canada. On my 135 the water gets in around the shifter lever rubbers. I put new ones on my tractor with a bit of silicone. Great videos!
We will just watch Farmer Phil and liv and Father Phil if he is around we look forward to seeing and hearing from Farmer Phil and family. The best farmers in the world 🌎.love to see all the animals how are the pigs 🐷 and 🐝and the chickens 🐔 and goats. So GodBless and Good Luck 😉.
Zip tie the rubber boot seals on the Gear Levers - always one area water gets in. I'm sure if you look elsewhere you will find other sources of for the water, but that is an easy one to fix.
The water can get in at the gear levers where the rubber boots are and the pressure release valve can give trouble it's on the other side where the dipstick is .
In the filter kit from massey's in the 80's you did away with the bottom metal cup, to make up for the different length you cut quarter of an inch from the fixing bolt
Water ingress around gear sticks and we're draft control top link rubbers .I did 1 wile back I put 10 gallon of diesel in and run it for a 10 minutes or so drained out and put new rubbers on .that was 5 years ago and haven't been back at it
Around the draught spring is a source of water ingress, it's often overlooked as it's not as quick or easy as the boots on the gear lever, and of course condensation
Looks like the 1200 is getting closer to being back on the road. Looking forward to that video. another place to check for crap comin gin is via the hydraulic connection you used for the potato digger. It may have washed in crap from the cylinders on the digger.
Excellent instruction and explanation. Could you consider in future YT turning "Off" background radio or television as it is a real distraction while trying to focus on all your great content. Thank you!
There's a bung plug on the bottom of the gearbox you should have also opened to drain. At least a gallon and a half in it before it heads out to the pump end. Water is usually getting in at the crossshaft as there's o rings there that's probably gone hard
yep the boots on the gear leavers phil ,there the buggers ,they get hard an dont do there job eh , putting it in a shed works as well eh !!!!! good luck
I get the same water problem with my grey fergy , I've been told it's getting in through the seal at the top link draft control. I can't remember if the 35 has a simular setup.
No new gasket fitted to pto lever cover, bottom three bolts usually need a bit of ptfe tape on them as they usually are submersed in oil. you could put a pre filter on your return line to catch any crap from a aux driven machine, easier changing a external one. watch you vid back when you play with gear lever its like a cock in sock around the lever. Cant Waite for 1200 rebuild, Lokey enough to drive once, the all-round view from the cab is great. Keep churning the vids out & happy new to the Stewarts
Hi, water gets in thru the GEAR SHIFTER BOOT, looking at it you might say how no cuts or rips, pull it up the shifter if not attached to the tranny housing like a rubber grommet making a seal, water will roll down the boot under it and seep in the tranny. And to flush the rest of the oil out use compressed air in the filler hole, wrap a few rags round to make a seal and blowjob it, the diesel works to wash but to get it out use the air blower. good luck
I'd water get into back end of DB 880 when power washing it through the gear levers the ( we think). Been alot more careful Washing since and problem hasn't reoccurred
Amazing that you can just go out, somewhere up the road, (Not some special order or long wait) and buy a simple part for a machine thats probably 60+ years old!
Lidl have battery powered pumps from time to time. They’re shite generally speaking but they’re the full finest for the likes of getting the last of the creamy oil out of the box or draining a tank with a stuck bung. Even handy transfer diesel from one tractor to another if ya were stuck.
Good luck my master. The hydraulic arms of our Massey Ferguson 135 tractor vibrate excessively when raising and lowering, I wonder what could be the reason. Could it be because the filter you changed is clogged? Thanks good night . Greetings from Türkiye.
There's a pile of shit under the diff and HYD pump which won't be got out without stripping all down! And the water is getting in around the gearsticks and the boot at the draft Spring at the top link. The one's on the gearsticks get slack.
A view of the lift levers & their uses would have been worth a mention as many, many Fergie 35x owners do not have a clue as to which lever should operate what 🤔😭
Our 1965 massey 135 that filter in our s was not changed in nearly 40 years....Phil rooster will be crowing when I see gunk on filter...Patrick 135////8111
The MOST problematic part, getting the securing wire on again (it prevents the the filter which is screwed in from coming loose & creating serious damage as it is a steel filter) is the one IMPORTANT part he does not show & this is what i'd like to see above all else
Jaysus you can't bait the 35. I spent me teenage years on one bog contracting, and me 20's come to think of it too 🤣🤣 Great Job Phil. Happy New year to you all.
Hi Phil a common place for the water to get in the back end is the boots on the gear sticks 🤔👍👌
Agreed, you can see at 3:55 a gap in the shifter boot. I had a similar issue with mine. Thanks for the video!
There is also a drain plug under the gear box which needs doing at the same time to get most of the dirty oil out
Another utube video tells that there is a third one on the diferential as well.
€30 is dear enough for that little filter , stuff is gone crazy expensive, good video I am always looking forward to you videos 👍
You are getting more and more confident with the mechanical work in every video it's great to see it and you have the wealth of knowledge around you with your father , what that man has forgotten , not too many will ever learn .
Water is getting In through the rubber bits around the gearstick or the draft quadrant control seal
Hello from Saskatchewan Canada. On my 135 the water gets in around the shifter lever rubbers. I put new ones on my tractor with a bit of silicone. Great videos!

🤣🤣

Yeah. Axle and PTO seals are a bit more work.
Congrats Phil and father Phil and Liv on 70k
Nice one Phil.
It might be the power wash that's putting the water in.
Them tractors will still be around when in 100 years time
And the 7610 won’t
@@PaddyGun probably suffer a porous block
Fact. Simple as can be. Mechanical only. Made on iron. Lots of it.
MF35 is a fantastic machine we have this beautiful machine since the very first batch in my country India.
The water can get in at the gear levers where the rubber boots are and the pressure release valve can give trouble it's on the other side where the dipstick is .
A wet and dry hoover might be useful to get the last bit of oil out of the bottom of the casing
O man how the tick off a 35 brings me back to early 70s gave me the love affair with machinery still operating 50 years later
In the filter kit from massey's in the 80's you did away with the bottom metal cup, to make up for the different length you cut quarter of an inch from the fixing bolt
Nice video Phil the water must be getting in at the gear leavers the rubbers must be cracked
Water ingress around gear sticks and we're draft control top link rubbers .I did 1 wile back I put 10 gallon of diesel in and run it for a 10 minutes or so drained out and put new rubbers on .that was 5 years ago and haven't been back at it
Thanx. Have MF 135 AD3.152 myself. Gotta love the accent.
Yeah, RUclips is the greatest place to learn new shit, thanx to uploaders like you.
my MF 35 from 1962 starts at once under -5 degrees.
i can use it only for the manure pump.
greetings from germany.
Water can get in down around the dipstick on the back end as well

Your fair getting into the spanners now Phil poor old Robert will be getting his P45 soon 😂
Water always gets in around the the gear sticks rubber gators, just replace them with new ones, will help a lot.
Thank you for posting this video I'm going to give it a try on my Massey 135 hopefully it solves the lift problem.
Great video Phil the 35 is a brilliant little tractor she’s running as sweet as a nut how is uncle Ian doing hope he’s good
I would check the seal on filler cap,and give a squeeze with a spanner, could be taking in water around cap,👍
It's the gear lever boots, we had the same problem before we replaced the cab. I also have to change our filter.
Excellent instruction and explanation. Could you consider in future YT turning "Off" background radio or television as it is a real distraction while trying to focus on all your great content. Thank you!
Good man phil, another good video, always good to see mechanic videos.
Check the boots round the gear selectors that's generally where water gets into the transmission
Great job. Note you removed the pto lever. An armature is part of an electric motor or alternator.
Well done on reaching 70k subscriber's Phil 👌
Great video Phil the 35 is a good we tractor 🚜👍👍👍

Hi Phil. Great Video. Redmac would be happy to help with your filter needs for your tractors etc.
Was there not a second drain point further forward?
I think there should be a gasket on the plate holding the diff lever. Maybe the water is getting in there?
Love the haircut

They normally come in the gear leaver boot covers
I'd water get into back end of DB 880 when power washing it through the gear levers the ( we think). Been alot more careful Washing since and problem hasn't reoccurred
Can't beat the little tractors, cheap to run and go forever
Ain’t cheap to buy😂
The 35 the water drips down the gear sticks because there is seals in them that so times fail that’s what happened us a few years ago
Do you have a video of the rear remotes in use, and how you operate them with the two levers in front of the seat?
Water gets in around the booths on the gear levers
Was there dirty oil in the spud harvester that could have caused the oil to go dirty?
Was thinking the same thing 👍
Should there be a gasket on the PTO lever?
Tighten the filler cap more than hand tight. Not much water is needed to turn oil milky.
You defo dont want to see that coming out yer back end. Wee tractor has the scour. 😂🤣👏
Water can get in through the rubber caps over the gear sticks when they perish, I reckon that'll be your best bet
On the David brown the water get in the rubber on the gear stick when it rains
Like to see it in action Phil 👍 👍
Could it be getting on off useing the tatty harvester if it uses a spool
Well lads how ye getting on. The water could be getting in around the gaters at the bottom of the the gear sticks 👍
Amazing that you can just go out, somewhere up the road, (Not some special order or long wait) and buy a simple part for a machine thats probably 60+ years old!
Water will be getting in at the gear stick boots Phil common problem.

My experience is that cracked boots on the gear lievers lets in the water.
Your almost on 70K subscribers!!!
Good luck my master. The hydraulic arms of our Massey Ferguson 135 tractor vibrate excessively when raising and lowering, I wonder what could be the reason. Could it be because the filter you changed is clogged? Thanks good night . Greetings from Türkiye.

Water gets in passed the gear stick boots
is the frost penny leaking between the engine and gearbox?
What would you tractor recommend for someone who wants something between 110 and 125 horsepower
Great job🤠
Cool
How do u get the wire off of the hydralic fuild
Savage phil as always great video👍🤙
Would you not use wet dry vacuum too suck the cream before putting in good oil
Get a weed sprayer with a wand and fill it with diesel to rinse out the in side of the gearbox
A view of the lift levers & their uses would have been worth a mention as many, many Fergie 35x owners do not have a clue as to which lever should operate what 🤔😭
That will earn its keep
What oil is it you put in
Would one of the hand suction pumps be useful there that are sold for car oil changing?
Could the water be getting in on the potato harvester rams
Does she get power wash much? Could be getting in oassed the seals that way
The intrusion of water, probably gaskets, shift boots, or both!
Jacking up front and an airline might help get more oil out
Water getting into the gearbox around gearstick rubber boots.... common complaint
Put cupen new rubbers around gear handles say that wher it geting in
Spoiling the 35 with new oil! Most old tractors just get the old gearbox oil from a newer tractor.
saw that oil and had flashbacks to when the head crack on my Fiat sport :0.
Our 1965 massey 135 that filter in our s was not changed in nearly 40 years....Phil rooster will be crowing when I see gunk on filter...Patrick 135////8111
Nice video keep it up

Great Job Phil.
Happy New year to you all.
Do you know what hours are on the 35x?
I think in that video from 3 years ago, your dad said it had been over 30 years since the filter was changed
Didn’t realise you was a dairy farmer 2:29
Excellent video.
You could have included the vid of installing the Hyd Filter 😭
Nice 👌
That's a filter for a 590 Phil
Why was de pto moving
