When Craftsman first failed years ago, I was sad and afraid that I can't get good value tools. Now, there are so many good value solid tool companies like Tekton, HF, Capri, Gearwrench with no hassle warranty that I am happy again.
Why yes that is true. Craftsman was USA made for a while. Tekton, Gearwrench, and Capri are either non USA made or don’t offer much. I would be happier than white on rice if tekton was mostly USA made
Basic sockets live on my roll cart, so I wouldn't need separate rails. Today they sell them with or without the big tray, so you could save a few dollars and put it toward your rail-of-choice.
Hi Tony, Thank you for this great video and for introducing our master 3/8 impact socket set. We love the feedback, suggestions and the comments from your views and the Capri users.
Hey thank you so much for watching and really glad you enjoyed the video. I always enjoy sharing my thoughts on tools and tool companies I believe are great companies. Capri tools is a great option for anyone. With a great warranty, great tools for a great price, a rewards program and a company that truly listens to the customers. That's not something you find very often and something you should really be proud of. Thank you for all of your hard work.
My only gripe is that I wish they made a 23mm and 24mm in the kit like alot of other master kits on the market offer for a 3/8" Master Kit... The Manganese Phosphate coating and Chrome Molybdenum is VERY awesome though otherwise
good review. Like the fact that the socket organizer has extra open spot at the end for extra common used sockets like 10 mm and 13 mm. Keep the reviews coming.
I just bought a few 1/4 inch drive capri universal sockets. I needed them for something I had to fix on my Jeep. They were reasonably priced and the quality was good. I definitely see myself buying more Capri tools
Just ordered. Got the metric & sae deep+shallow set plus aluminum tray for $140 shipped. Too good of deal to pass up. First Capri tool purchase thanks to your review.
@@narcissistinjurygiver2932 its hard to say exactly bc each has its own use. Cr-v is technically a stronger metal or harder. Where cr-mo is actually designed to be more impact resistant or have more flexibility so they are usually better for impact rated use. But both have very very similar chemical make ups and can also depend on the heat treatment to the tool itself. So both are very strong materials just one made more specifically to withstand impact a little better.
They really stepped it up by adding that Socket rail. It would be nice to have the 23mm and 24mm. But it looks like you could place a ratchet or extension, there.
I bought the Sunex master set, and then bought their midlength and super shallow separately. I wish Sunex would offer a set that includes those two options. This Capri set is a home-run, I think.
Gray pneumatic makes great sockets as well. I have both Capri and gray pneumatic and all the ones that I have are made in Taiwan and I wouldn't be surprised at the same forging manufacturer makes both
Thanks for this video. Was shopping around and on the fence for buying a set from sunex but just placed my order for these Capri sockets and that billet organizer they throw in had to grab this set. You son of a 🐝. I already bought the tekton 3/8 impact standard sockets in metric and sae. I’ve been waiting for them to get the deep set back in stock for months, but now you show me this?!? Ughh now I feel like I need a mid length socket set. Those trays are really nice too. But so are my Ernst/Tekton trays. I’m conflicted now. Thanks.
@@TonyTheTechnician 👍 I just ordered the metric and sae master sets. The mid length 14mm will pay for the whole set in a couple months. I do a lot of Tacomas and 4Runners.
Very impressed with this, thanks for sharing, I have their impact extension and chrome extensions amongst a few other tools, for the price it’s very good stuff for the diy person at home
I personally have mostly all Tekton (8 sets) impact sockets with 3 Craftsman sets in the mix. While I like the Tekton cases, I like this style a bit more as I rarely travel with my tools. The mid length is neat to see, but I personally prefer the mid length in chrome and sticking with the basic shallow and deep on impact. I don't use mid length enough to justify spending the money on an impact set. I have a quite old Craftsman USA set of midlength chromes.
I bought a set of Capri extra long wrenches for damaged heads on bolts. Very nice wrenches and work great. Never would have ever looked at them if it wasn't for your stubby wrench video. Thanks for the recommendation
Lmao just be careful with the brake clean. I'm not sure how the organizer will hold up even though it's anodized. But your absolutely right lol it's alot of oil
It would be nice if they made a 4 row so you could put the deep semi-deep, shallow and stubby socket on. It would be nice if they went down to 6 mm so you used all the pens
I would have bought these if I didn't buy my sunex master 3/8 metric set, which I'm really happy with. Also, I just received my capri master torx bit socket set and man, they are really nice.

Would you recommend this or the new capri 55 piece 3/8 set that comes with the foam tray and extensions and universal joint and 23 and 24 impact sockets in shallow semi deep and deep sockets for only $200
@TonyTheTechnician thank you I appreciate it!! I just got the new foam one setup and I couldn't be happier great tools and very durable and the foam trays quite durable
@kavonroberts4724 very nice!! Glad to hear it. Completely agree. I have a few of the foam organizers and they are nice. Does that one come with almost the hard shell on the top layer of foam. Or is it just soft on top?
@TonyTheTechnician it comes with the thin black plastic layer on top of the 1 to 1.5 inch maybe 2 inches of the blue durable foam I been carrying it around for last two days and it keeps everything intact
@kavonroberts4724 nice!! Ya I like the hard shell material they use on the top. Helps to prevent it from absorbing oil and stuff. And keeps it from getting chewed up
Capri I hope you are listening I really like the sockets, the price is good especially for what it includes... But I have 2 requirements for impact sockets... Laser etching is fine but the company should be proud enough of their products to do the following The Brand or Company name MUST BE STAMPED into the socket The Size MUST BE STAMPED into the socket And I prefer the Part number be stamped into them
Man I have been looking at their metric set but you mentioned something that just turned me off. You said the broaching on the deep is only half way. Can you check it against one of the hf pro impact sockets of the same size. I have the half inch version of the hf but wanted to get the 3/8 sockets to keep the weight down and be able to use my 3/8 ratchets. So I'm just trying to have one small set for most things as I don't work on cars every day myself. And I just use the metric sizes anyway. I had to change a water sensor and only my deep hf socket fitted over it all the way. My chrome socket was not deep enough. This is why I ask.
Glad i took a closer look at capris theyve got super inclusive sets. Deep mid and shallow all-in-one sae sets and metric with that size range, no skips. All you can ask for. And that organizer is tits
