Attitude. Skills. Plan.
Great assessment. Just wanted to add that I have pretty small hands (5’5) and I have no issues w the flat trigger reach. I favor them bc I’m on a flat trigger kick w my 1911s/2011s. In the end, it’s not going to matter much but I love them.
Just purchased the flat trigger and short reset kit. Cant wait.
HK Customer Service is perhaps the best in the industry! Tommy & Ryan are absolutely amazing!
Amen.
I have this trigger in my P30, and then sent it to lazy wolf for the MRAP. Sweet setup. This combo places the flat trigger a bit more towards the rear than without the lazy wolf upgrade. I didn’t care for the gray guns trigger until I sent it to lazy wolf. Now I love it.
Rick does incredible work!
Bro, are you a bot? I've seen you on multiple P30 videos talking about how great this Lazy Wolf trigger job is, yet the moment someone asks you a question or otherwise replies to your comment, you don't answer at all. Weird man.
Crazy how whenever I want info on a specific firearm accessory you have a vid for it. Has happened multiple times. God bless
Yeah that's great and all, but does it take glock mags?🤔🤣
Hugely helpful and very timely video. I’m looking at getting one of these from Langdon and wasn’t sure whether I should go w the flat trigger (which I usually don’t like) or not. I have short fingers and I think you answered my question..
Glad I could help!
You mentioned the potenital for reducing pre-travel to normalize trigger reach. I converted my P30L LEM v1 to swiss LEM v4.1 (CH), which reduced pre-travel by 5mm or roughly 1/3. You can convert any P30-series LEM to v4.1 by ordering the following parts directly from HK customer service:
- v4.1 trigger bar detent spring
- the v4.1 catch (slightly longer than v1),
- and v4.1 hammer (slightly more recessed than v1).
- The medium v4.1 trigger return spring is optional, but provides a more positive/crisp reset (compared to v1.)
For some reason they don't list these parts in the HK webshop and you will have to call the customer service center directly (which I did).
Disclaimer: The slightly longer catch causes the hammer to minimally protrude in its cocked position. The v4.1 hammer is internally a little more recessed to accommodate the longer catch when decocked.
Interesting!
I also converted my V1 to the 4.1 as well as added the gray guns short reset and the flat trigger. I agree with him that I do not like the flat trigger in its normal V1 forward position, but with the 4.1 I love it, That combination of changes makes this trigger system awesome
How much heavier does the trigger get or feel in the 4.1 configuration? Not sure yet if I should do it
My 22 year old HK USPc is at GrayGuns now for a performance update and LEM trigger system install. I shoot DA/SAs and have shot long take-up striker fired guns. I have watched all your videos which discuss the LEM and I am curious if there are any additional issues in adapting to the LEM I should be prepared for. (For all the readers out there, I have already heard all the "it's antiquated", "low capacity", "not egonomic" comments about the USP. It is still the ultimate combat pistol! IMO.)
Lol humidity in Pheonix, that's a good one John!
Monsoon season it really creeps up, and when it's 107 with 50% humidity this town is just not equipped to deal with it!
John. I like how you share your opinion and experience but still remain objective.
I got just the reset mechanism from Greyguns on my v1 and it’s awesome! If you have a Hk in any version I suggest to get the upgrade from Greyguns!
In summary, it’s awesome! If you have a HK pistol, send it in!
5:35 the humidity in PHOENIX is making my glasses fog up. This is insulting to hear as someone who lives on the gulf coast lol
A different world for SURE! :)
Hey John. Just got a gray guns trigger installed in my Sig p320 axg pro. Im excited to try it out.
Enjoy!
@@ASPextra thank u bro!
I installed the short rest and short pre-travel, and it feels super nice, but I skipped the flat trigger. Even with short pre-travel, it will be too forward.
Thank you for the great content as always. You inspired me to buy a P30L. However, I need to buy additional mags and don’t know where to find them. Can you advise?

Thanks for the review John, I think you only look at things like this when if you’re unhappy with the trigger feel. At the end of the day these companies want your money so creating a perceived need is what they aim to do.
On a side note, does your HK drop the slide by itself when you insert a fresh mag or are you doing that instantly yourself?
I use the thumb pressure method, so I cause it by inserting the mag vigorously.
I’m seriously debating on getting this trigger for my p30sk (edc) because I’m shooting low left and every other pistol of mine has a flat trigger like both of my sig x series, my p80s, M&P shield and 1911 in which my groups are pretty tight and where I’m aiming at. Come to think of it.. I’m also shooting low left with my beretta m9.. about to see who’s got a good flat trigger for that and make it a home defense pistol.
Usually a low left push isn't a trigger issue. It's a grip issue. ruclips.net/video/4TgO_4c8gzk/видео.html
Thank you, how does it compare carrying concealed vs the P30 sk LEM
The trigger doesn't change how it conceals.
Sorry did not ask the question clearly I mean does the p 30 you carry conceal with out excessive printing Thank you
It certainly does and can. The grip is shorter on the SK so it can conceal a bit easier.
How did you do the grip tape that way? It looks great.
Those are sandpapered grips. They’re made by Jerkman Custom.
@@ASPextra Sweet. Thanks!
I installed grayguns reset kit and now I m getting random light strikes. I emailed grayguns and they asked me if Installed extend roll pin. I told them yes but they never answer back on how to correct this. Any ideas what it could it be??
I would listen to them. Home gunsmithing is a bad idea.
Does your slide drop when you insert the mag?
I use the thumb pressure technique to reload, so it doesn't auto-forward but the way I hold the gun causes the slide release to disengage when I load it vigorously enough.
Ok I own the hkp30: ok I hate the trigger because everyone knows that the trigger sux the way that I look at it is that you anticipate the shot will this trigger upgrade will fix the problem...thanks to everyone in here I will highly will appreciate any feedback...
Hey you told me to buy this trigger and I don’t like it, will you gib reimbursement?
Does your carry gun have the stock trigger in it? Is it polymer?
No, my carry gun has the GG short reset trigger in it installed and tuned by one of the most respected gunsmiths in the USA. It's a HK P30 LEM.
@@ASPextra , done by Lazy Wolf? Is it the straight or curved GG?
No, Lazy Wolf installs their own triggers. The Grayguns short reset system is what I use. It was installed by Ernest Langdon at Langdon Tactical Technologies.
@@ASPextra , I thought you were using Lazy Wolf short reset system
Honestly, never found flat triggers to make much of any difference. I don’t care about “tacticool”, and performance wise the shape of the trigger is much less as important as the internals.
I can't say how HKs feel but Smith & Wesson M&Ps get a lot of hate for their curved triggers. I have no problem with mine and have no pressing desire to swap it for a flat trigger. My M&P Shield Plus has a factory flat-ish trigger and it doesn't feel any different from the curved trigger. I have Apex internals on both and that had a much bigger effect on making it easier to shoot.
@@bwofficial1776 If you come from a background of DAO pistols, practically every trigger is clean and crisp.
I agree, intervals matter.
Woah, could hardly hear you over that shirt ! 😉
Like the cat ear on your ear muffs.
ruclips.net/video/PyknnWDEZZo/видео.html they're a fun inside thing between me and one of my kids.
Damn I was looking at this too. John recommending it seals the deal.
Not for me. I'll try to stick with factory triggers on my carry guns.
I never liked H&K from their attitude toward the civilian market a few years back. And the price of about 50 bucks each you can get extra mags. And does it take Glock mags?
HK is a vastly different company now than it was in the 90s. Fantastic company putting out great guns and being a force for good in the US.
HK has the best customer service! Tommy & Ryan are unbelievable.
Not a fan of it.
That's what's great about having freedom. The curved trigger on Smith & Wesson M&Ps gets a lot of hate and a lot of people swap them out for flat triggers but I have no problem with mine. My M&P Shield Plus came with a flat-ish trigger and it's neither better nor worse than my larger M&P.
