As an Amateur keyboardist I got to open for these guys back around 1990. He was amazing. Pat traverse also rocks the Hell out of keyboards. it was also the first and only time I got to play through a pro sound rig with pro sound people. It was the peak of my amateur band days :)
The first full hammond organ solo I ever learned by ear was Pat Travers Crash and Burn organ solo! Lots of great technique and tasteful organ licks on that entire song!

He said the day after his wife and him went out to check the damages when he heard the cries of kittens! They rescued them and raised them! I told him my love of cats and animals and of course his fantastic music! Anyway he wrote me back and thanked me for the info I shared. After that I Really appreciated the fact that he and his wife are truly down to earth and humbled me! Thanks Pat! With love Jan!
Thanks to Pat and that red Melody Maker, I have a rather severe fetish for red guitars. I first heard him in '77 and saw him live several times in the early '80s. I messaged him on Facebook and told him that hearing him play made the two halves of my brain argue. One side screams practice, the other side says just burn the guitars in the back yard. I only got a few feet, and the tour manager, the late, great Danny Pochedley, stops me, and deadass asks me what I think I can do about it. Put it back in? Poor Jerry's chest is bleeding, and he's a whiter shade of pale. I wanted ice packs for him, and again, Danny asks how I think he could hold an ice pack, while playing! Those were some days I hope to never forget! I hope Danny and Peter are lobster diving in their version of heaven.
