I saw PT in Miami at a little theater called "Gusman". They had just finished recording the album Heat In The Street down the road at Criteria studios and wanted to try out some of his "new" songs. Incredible show!!!!
Pats a true artist and one of the best rhythm and blues guitarist in the history of rock and roll . His live album "Go For What You Know" featured Pat Thrall on lead and rhythm guitars Mars on bass . The legendary Tommy Aldridge on the drum kit . And Pat Travers on lead and rhythm guitars and lead vocals. This line-up was designed for one reason and one reason only and that was to kick your ass with their hard dose of boogie woogie blues party music ever . and they were all that and more . I grew up in Orlando florida and Pat moved to the city in the late 70s and i have seen Pats band live plenty of times and never once did they disappoint . Just phenomenal group of musicians that was so tight it was unimaginable...
Oakland california s. In collaboration with our buddy Mr Bill gram day on the green Pat's band in sevendy six tommy aldridge blew us away best band I saw back then I was a pat travers fan first record I got hooked
What makes Travers a real standout in so-called "blues rock" is his songwriting, compositions, and arrangements. He goes far beyond the typical four-on-the-floor 3-5 chord construction, with plenty of stops and starts, modulation, and dynamics. It is obvious to me he studied jazz because very few write and plays like he does in the rock idiom. Randy Bachman is another that can do this stuff in his sleep as well. Rock ON, Pat!
Pat Travers is a force of nature. I think he was born to rock, literally. It's in his DNA. Like John Lee Hooker's folks said; Let that boy boogie woogie. And for all that baddassery, he's a nice guy. I met him at a fair in CA and he's a down to earth, genuine dude who's grateful for his fans and his success. Godspeed Pat.
@@Ppuffdiddleydangdoof One of the best shows I have ever seen was Pat Travers in 1994 at The Cabaret Club in San Jose! He had Aynsley Dunbar on drums. Pat was on fire that night!! Unfortunately, Pat hasn't had a great live band since the early 90s.
The most amazing underrated guitarist on the planet. If you've been under a rock for all these years pick up "Go for What You Know" and you will witness one of the greatest live albums you've ever heard. The famous "Their here to kick your ass" intro and they will do just that. It's a live concert you will never forget. It had a lasting impression on me.

@Mick Cripzzz I have been thinking about him so much. He'd have been a blast in lockdown! His laugh was the best. He didn't read music. He would listen, and play it. Technical terms I'm not sure of, but he learned by ear. He was a great cook, and that was how we first met. I was sort of stuck, as my friend went off with Jerry. I just wanted to eat! It was 3 AM. I was getting really grumpy. He didn't say much, but soon walked into the living room with a whole meal! One kiss lead to 10 years. Geography separated us. Always in my heart, and a part of my soul. Hope you are well, and safe, wherever you are~

This is a great version of The Pat Traverse Band with Sandy Genero on drums, Rodney O’Quinn on bass and Mr. Kim on guitar…and of course Pat Traverse on lead vocals and lead guitar.
This sounds great for such a small venue. Love the tone on both guitars. Travers is a guitar legend in my opinion, and right up there with the greatest. Glad he’s still able to tour. 👏
That's a smoking 🚬 Album. I've listened to that one ALot. That band was hard to beat. Great Musicanship. I met Pat Travers in 2002 talked to him for ten minutes. One of the most nicest person I've met. And I've met Steve Vai and Joe Satriani November 1, 2003 and Pat was the best in my opinion.
Everyone has to get over the lineup changes in this band Named "Pat Travers Band" He can change at the drop of a dime. Any lineup he had has been in it's own way Excellent. Keep Rocking Pat!!

You want underated?.... check out "Stinky Kitty" by Blues Saraceno and get back to me..... wipes the floor with all others mentioned IMO.......Taking nothing away from these previously mentioned guitar God's but Saraceno definitely in league with Satch, Gilbert, Morse.....and virtually nobody knows him.... shame....on personal note...was invited to green room @Travers show in Sunrise Fla (Alligator Alley) to sign an Epiphone acoustic I'd brought on a whim and the whole trio was so cool and humble I learned to keep my ego in check when playing out....local legend Jimmy Fiano opened, same guy that would turn his back on us guitarists so we couldn't see what he was doing when he soloed..... what a difference!!! Thanks Mr Travers for the early inspiration in my picking journey.....
Saw Pat Travers open for AC DC in 79. He absolutely kicked ass!! I wore out the album Putting it Straight. All killer tunes! Underrated guitarist for sure. 🔥
Wow. That was great. Wish he would have done some more of his own songs (Makes No Difference and Hooked on Music, to name but two), but still...Love PT. One of my all time favorites.
Great show. I saw PT quite a few times in the UK in the 70's, and, as a young bass player back then, Mars was absolutely one of my biggest heroes, and a huge influence. And I didn't realise quite how much of influence PT was, until I started playing guitar in the late 80's, and all these Travers' licks started falling onto my fingerboard. Fantastic players, and always a cracking band to behold.
This was a Strong Iteration of the PTB.. Pat Travers .. Of Course .. Sandy Gennaro, Drum , Rodney O'Quinn, Bass . Kirk McKim - guitar .. I saw them 3 time in Portland., Great Show.

My favorite master of the guitar since the 70’s. The first time I heard him back in 76, it messed me up and I’ve never been the same since. I’ve had the pleasure of being able to hang out with Pat and chat with him for a while after each performance here in town over the years. He’s always been a very cool dude. Not big headed at all. The rest of the band have always been nice to me as well. Pat is a class act. Always looking forward to seeing him perform and shred again.

Pat Travers and Frank Marino both both Canadian and continue to pump the best rock& roll guitars riffs whether you think rated underrated is entirely up to the listener. See PT live;' is his show!!!!
I saw PT on March 20th, 1982 when he graciously replaced Ozzy Osbourne the day after Randy Rhoades passed away. Sandy Gennaro was the drummer that day. I think his foot was in a cast and he had to be carried on the stage. They were great then and they’re still kicking ass!

Exactly ! And was probably this night ! He took forever to cone out after the rest of the band was enjoying the people, Pat already was headed for certain people , blew this hippie of like a cheaprug , BUT always loved his shows 🎶
I saw Pat Travers for the first time in 1976 at the Great Southern Music Hall in Orlando Florida. Travers, Aldridge, Cowlings, and Thrall. Itwas an awesome show. 2 hours of rock and blues. Still have the shirt...Watching this brings me right back to that space and time. Here we are 40+ years later and The Pat Travers band sounds just as clean, crisp, clear and sharp as they did then..keep on rockin Pat, we love you man.
RIP Peter "Mars" Cowling -- died 3/20/18. Very sad news indeed. And his fellow hard blues rock bass pal, Craig MacGregor of Foghat, died just 39 days before Mars did.
@@dennis-ul5ht It's Rodney O'Quinn. My best guess as to why he left the Pat Travers Band to join Foghat is that Foghat seems to perform much more regularly than PT does, so I assume that Rodney makes much more $$$ in Foghat than he would with PT.
I'm with you on that my friend! Today's music is crap. The industry sucks more now than ever. Thank God the older guys are still playing so they can pass the torch to young guys that care about great music and playing.
Regardless of the size of the venue, Pat Travers puts the same amount of energy and effort into the show. Saw Pat Travers in a little club in Alexandria, IN in 1994, then in 1997 on the Summer Daze tour with BOC, Steppenwolf, and Foghat in Noblesville, IN at Deer Creek Music Center. Then again in 2011 in a small club in New Castle, IN

Wow. Pat lost his voice. Sad! Back in the 70s, I went through three cassette tapes of his live album, "Go For What You Know." When CDs came out, it was one of the first CDs I purchased. I STILL listen to it all the time.
I cant believe how many people comment thinking that the bass player is Mars Cowling ! They act like how great Mars is playing. People that is not Mars, it is Rodney O'quinn , and besides being a really cool guy he has not only awesome stage presence but is a killer bassist as well.
Had his live album in 1981, saw him live in '93 (Tilburg NL) and around the millennium (Dinxperlo NL). I recorded the '93 concert where the Dutch band New Adventures was backing Pat up. Is on my channel. This Bamboo concert was great, also the sound mix, thanks for sharing. Hope to see the PTB some more!

Big PT fan! Heat in the street was my album I bought of him in the 1976 time frame I guess. Saw him only once in a little bar in Baton Rouge Louisiana called night moves I think. He signed a couple of CD's and I spoke to him a little. Great show love to see him again but he never plays anywhere near me.

Outstanding talent and performer
Well, that brightened up a cold, wet, Scottish January night.
Right Lad
Sandy Gennaro showing what real rock drumming is all about!
One of my all time favorites Pat Travers hello Pat from J-Ville from Al Stone
RIP Peter "Mars" Cowling -- died 3/20/18. Very sad news indeed. And his fellow hard blues rock bass pal, Craig MacGregor of Foghat, died just 39 days before Mars did.
Interesting that Terry O'Quinn ended up on Foghat when the smoke cleared...
@@dennis-ul5ht It's Rodney O'Quinn. My best guess as to why he left the Pat Travers Band to join Foghat is that Foghat seems to perform much more regularly than PT does, so I assume that Rodney makes much more $$$ in Foghat than he would with PT.
I was a huge Foghat fan back in the 70s
Love the Puttin it Straight Album!!
Me too
Thank GOD for music that is not rotten and produced by the illuminati at the top.
I'm with you on that my friend! Today's music is crap. The industry sucks more now than ever. Thank God the older guys are still playing so they can pass the torch to young guys that care about great music and playing.
Exactly my friend! 💯🎯
I had all of his albums and I saw him 4 times
Regardless of the size of the venue, Pat Travers puts the same amount of energy and effort into the show. Saw Pat Travers in a little club in Alexandria, IN in 1994, then in 1997 on the Summer Daze tour with BOC, Steppenwolf, and Foghat in Noblesville, IN at Deer Creek Music Center. Then again in 2011 in a small club in New Castle, IN
Thanks for watching David.
Pat has THEE premier BluesRock voice, 45 years running!
PT, Gary Moore, Johnny Winter! My favorite B/R voices ever!

The PatPat live album is just so cool. Mars was THE MAN...
you high right now
Seen P.T. Band open for UFO in 79 My 2nd concert.. What a band.
Nearing 50 years and ' STEVIE ' Still Mesmerizes 🤘
And Evie as well
Wow. Pat lost his voice. Sad! Back in the 70s, I went through three cassette tapes of his live album, "Go For What You Know." When CDs came out, it was one of the first CDs I purchased. I STILL listen to it all the time.
The two Pat's together were my favorite (Travers and Thrall)
Damn! This kicks ass. That’s a tight band.
Thanks for watching, Slap Johnson. Glad you enjoyed it.
Saw Pat in 79 or 80 with the Scorpions & Sammy Hagar. Great show. One of the best I've seen.
Boom Boom at the Bamboo Room should be the name of the concert. He's a master.
The timing changes were always my favorites!
I cant believe how many people comment thinking that the bass player is Mars Cowling ! They act like how great Mars is playing. People that is not Mars, it is Rodney O'quinn , and besides being a really cool guy he has not only awesome stage presence but is a killer bassist as well.
1:19:30 and whaddayaknow.....
Mars was at the show and sat in on Boom, Boom. Mars was a great friend. RIP Mars
Fantastic
This is Music
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Had his live album in 1981, saw him live in '93 (Tilburg NL) and around the millennium (Dinxperlo NL). I recorded the '93 concert where the Dutch band New Adventures was backing Pat up. Is on my channel. This Bamboo concert was great, also the sound mix, thanks for sharing. Hope to see the PTB some more!
Pat traverse one of the best classic rock Stars I would classify this music is being classic rock bluesy Rock yeah you got a voice sound like Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers band rock on Pat Trevor's 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
In 2012 , i guess , saw Pat Travers play in a corn field in Donna , Texas of all places . Weird . But like this video , he gave it his all . Great stuff thanks.
Always enjoyed listening to Pat Traver wailing away on his bad ass guitar!
Snorting whiskey and drinking cocaine...Boom Boom out goes the lights.😁
Big PT fan! Heat in the street was my album I bought of him in the 1976 time frame I guess. Saw him only once in a little bar in Baton Rouge Louisiana called night moves I think. He signed a couple of CD's and I spoke to him a little. Great show love to see him again but he never plays anywhere near me.
Man, Sandy and Mars just have so much FUN here.
They were good friends for many years. Used to dive together.
Very sorry to hear about Peter's passing earlier this year, RIP Mr. Cowling. Was lovely to see him again in the final song.
Such a tight band. I've always wanted a PRS but Pat Travers makes me want to go out and actually spend the money on one
In the old days he played a Gibson Melody Maker. I've wanted one ever since ♫
Bro, that's some serious So FL kickass rock n roll
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Not too many great bluesy ROCK guitarists out there anymore. Pat Marino Trower Rory Johnny Moore...so happy some of them are still with us.
Other guitarist kicks ass!
Kirk Mckim from Texas
That's fer shure... 🫤
