Great Blues Rock. He is following the 80s trend for fast playing. He has obviously not been able to shake off his guitar lessons. He is like an unimaginative Hendrix played at 78RPM
He made every song his own whether it was Albert Collins or Albert King. A deep soul . His use of effects like the Leslie or wah was never gimmickry - they were instruments unto themselves, integral parts of the song’s presentation. Evoking a lot of BB this set!
I agree! I love the natural dramatics that come from all that passion oozing from his soul into the guitar. I thought the hand shaking & wagging was all part of it until I took a 2nd look & saw for my first time that he was shaking off the pain in his fingers. Watch him during CSTW, disappear into a cloud of Finger Ease twice as he empties a can on poor old #1!
Thank you so much for this. I was there, 16 years old, watching a show I would never forget. Btw, he played Rude Mood while sitting on a stage monitor before an audience in awe. Absolutely brilliant.
Totaly other dimension.... this guy played guitar in a way that God and His army on heaven were raptured to make things flowing supernaturally, on earth, consequently those who were diving on that supernatur atmosphere were healed from the top to there toe! 😊😅 STEVE RAY VAUGHAN Ismply the best
The guy was basically wired since he was a teenager, and ran down that path until he hit a wall Fortunately for himself he got clarity and cleaned up and we had just about 2 and a half years of it is an example right here this guy gives zero F's, he's just happy to be making music incredible set
Stevie is like a diesel, getting more & more supple and alive while he's doing his thing. I wonder what stuff he is spraying over neck and fretboard of his guitar at 100:33?? Anyone?
Thank you for continuing to share Stevie's legacy, good job.🎸🎸

He was freshly clean here.....his playing had changed to reflect this....its more urgent. incredible preformance.
Wow.....really.....?? That's heavy.............
He was clean for almost 2 yrs by the time of this show (went into rehab Oct 1986). But either way, he definitely was playing with incredible urgency.
1:11:30 oh my god!!! face melting harmonies!! no matter how many times I listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, he always amazes me everytime RIP you legend.
i agree, ive listened to countless live versions of that song and this one in particular strikes me as one of the sharpest recorded on audio

One of the best versions of Texas Flood he’s done!

The style that is adopted in Texas is surprising, always honoring its past among blues musicians...

Splendido Stevie ❤
That's some rare & awesome footage. Thanks for sharing & keeping Stevie alive.
Diminutive man with freakishly large hands, and a blues soul as large as the State he was from.
Having watch SRV Live five times.
I can truly say...
He's in Top form here....
Sensacional!!!
I played at the Peer Blues fest in 1999. Belgium was a great place for blues festivals. Thanks for the upload.
