Kevin is playing an electric cello. He's played his normal cello in several songs over the years with Pentatonix. (Shallow, Radioactive, Thank You, Perfect, and Say Something to name a few). He plays this electric cello along with Matt playing drums as part of their live shows over the past couple years. Those pieces are amazing. I've seen them live twice this year. They did this piece as part of the Christmas tour which was the show I saw last week. There are plenty of fan-shot videos of his performances up on RUclips if you want to see them. There are also a couple of official live stream videos from concerts that include him and Matt playing (from the Hollywood Bowl 2022 concert, and from last year's Christmas concert live stream).
This is the best I've ever heard them sound. They can take a song you don't like and make it your favorite. PTX is pure magic. Like Midas...everything they touch turns to gold. When they ask Kirstin and Mitch which of them has the higher voice they look at each other, shrug, and say, "Maybe Kevin?" Pentatonix released this song on their 2023 Christmas album, "Greatest Christmas Hits." They didn't make an official video for this one, so the live Vevo recording is the closest we have. I believe there's also a Yule Log video with the studio recording, and probably one with the lyrics on-screen; other than that, no other videos. You may be thinking of "O Holy Night," which they first recorded in 2012. But when they put together "Greatest Christmas Hits" they re-recorded it, to take advantage of Matt's huge range. The 2023 version is by far the best.

They are all fantastic singers and together they create magic. On covers they honor the original while also making the arrangement and harmonies their own. The Prayer, Amazing Grace, Daft Punk, Can’t Hold Us, Mad World, Papaoutai, Perfume Medley and Problem are favs of mine. They always add a twist and it not the same twist so their entire catalog is awesome. They decide who sings what parts based on the goal of maximum song wow. Their originals rock and I love Sing, Love Again, Be My Eyes, Prayers for this World, Water and Can’t Sleep Love. For Christmas songs: Making Christmas, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy. Really everything you pick will be awesome.

@@ginger_snapz_369, It's a carbon fibre electric cello. He uses it now on stage since it's easier to showcase the sound and he also uses it on his RUclips channel, K.O. Kevin Olusola where he does some really incredible looping with it, keyboard, beatboxing and singing. He basically becomes a One-Man-Band. Kevin nicknamed it Mr Carter and his regular cello is named Beyonce.
