      Best ever written song? Beethoven's 9 Symphony. Espacially the part where the chor gets in. Alle Menschen werden Brüder / All humans become brothers.
      There is a reason why this is the anthem of the EU.
      Imagine, even after WW II where germany tried to fuck the rest of the world dry in the ass, europeans thought that this symphony of a german guy, still would representate europe the best.
      When I see flashmob vids of the 9th Symphony done in european cities, I get teary eyes.

It's their first "love song" and came as a shock to the his fellow bandmates and fans alike since it was so personal and out of character for him. The people who started all this were back in the 19teens, 1920s, 30s, 40s - the African American blues artists. It morphed into electric blues in the mid-40s and into the early 50s.
    Elmore James was playing rock like songs back in the early 1950s.
    Then Little Richard, Big Mama Thornton, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Rush, Elvis Presley -- all exploded on the scene in the mid 1950s with blues - mixed with a bit of country and some rag time - it all morphed into Rock and Roll.
    Then the huge band that grabbed it all was The Beatles in the early 1960s - The Rolling Stones too.
    Then Led Zeppelin came along and blew the lid off it all in 1969 - when they put it all together - more aggressively, attacking, stankier, raunchier, tougher and with massive passion - they carried music all the through the 1970s, as the biggest band out there.

    I’m a huge fan. What you guys offer is unique because you’re going to places out of your comfort zone or what I am ignorantly assumed it is. I’m a white boy from Cleveland who has been living in Africa for almost 20 years. I call myself an American African. I have seen an experienced both racism as well as human connection that is race blind. This goes way beyond some dude pointing out that he’s not racist because he has a couple of black friends that works with a black guy. Sorry we use the word black here because otherwise, if we applied the US approach, we would be calling Black people African Africans. They call us white and it’s all good. So anyone taking offense of my use of the word black that’s your baggage. I’m a huge metal fan and also a huge rap fan and I think music brings people together like nothing else. So thank you for your refreshing , entertaining challenge to stereotypes. Keep it coming. Can I suggest a few artists that I think you can educate and entertain your audience with. Old school jazz John Coltrane A Love Supreme is insane. Metallica is a great band to feature they’ve been going strong for 40 years putting out albums all good the whole time. You’re open minds are what we need a lot more of everywhere again thanks you guys rule. Michael from Cape Town

    Musical bands (not singing groups) go back a long way but if you mean recording bands you can go back to many bands from the 1930's and on. Rock bands actually came mostly into common usage in the late 1950's . Most of these bands were a name lead singer and this band, but you had the Beatles, the Animals, The Byrds (all British invasion bands of the early and mid 1960's)

    • @stonedmountainunicorn9532
      @stonedmountainunicorn9532 Год назад +1

      Actually a interesting question, i guess before the 1930's technology made it quite impossible for recording onto some sort of media.
      But why wouldn't you count for example a group of bard's in the 15th and 16th century, or does that fall into the singing groups?

    • @MrLuigiVampa
      @MrLuigiVampa Год назад

      I agree. Those early British invasion groups were the prototype for what we now understand as the modern day rock band. I like the way you broke down the different generations and forms of “groups”. Exactly what I was thinking before I came to the comments section and found yours.

      @HRConsultant_Jeff Год назад

      @@stonedmountainunicorn9532 Certainly chanting monks could qualify, good point. However, they were singing music mostly made by others, much like a choir. I think of bands as being a group of musicians and singers making music for the masses (or a small sub group). There were ragtime bands, but before that, mostly it was orchestras or marching type bands. There were groups in some towns that played for festivities, but they were not usually a regular working band. I am sure there is a historian out there who could school both of us.

    This music is Thrash metal inspired out of the hatred of Hair metal bands of the 80s.
    Metal, is born from Black Sabbath, Led Zep, and Deep Purple of the 70s who separated themselves from Hard rock scene bands like W.H.O, Beatles, Jim Morrison. These British bands were inspired by American blues and psychedelic rock. So American Blues is the foundation for Metal.
    Then also in the 70s there was an explosion of metal sub-genres like Blues rock (Aerosmith), Shock Rock bands (Alice Cooper and Kiss), party rock (Van Halen), groove metal (Pantera).
    Like Rap, eventually hard rock/metal hit its success in 80s and went commercial which birthed hair-metal. Thrash Metal was the counter culture of Hair metal and regan conservatism with bands like Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth, metallica, supultura, overkill.
    Then in the 90s Alternative rock and grunge with bands like NIRVANA (who single handed killed metal) was the counter culture too Thrash metal.
    By the end of the 90s people were sick of Alternative Rock and wanted something harder which spawned Nu-metal!!!
    Rock n Rock is like pendulum it swings back and forth all evolving for the positive or negative based on what was before.
    *Somewhere in the background the Scandinavians were experimenting with metal and reality with genres like Death and Black Metal.
    THERE ARE SO MANY SUB-GENRES AND GREAT BANDS IN EACH.
    yall must explore.

Songs you might want to react to: "The Unforgiven", "Fade To Black", & "For Whom The Bell Tolls". That's a start. Who started all this rock 'n' roll? Chuck Berry, officially known as "The Father of Rock 'n' Roll"; then came Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, & finally The Beatles. These artists were the originators of the genre, & everything else built on their work.

    Metallica was inspired by what's called the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which was a lot of underground British metal that hit the American scene in the 70s. Bands like The Misfits, Diamond Head, and the all-important Motorhead. They put out a couple of albums, Garage Days Revisited and Garage Inc where they covered a lot of songs from their inspirations. My favorite from those is Small Hours, a cover of a Holocaust song.

    Groups of ppl use to be required to make music. You needed somebody to play bass(tuba, euphonium, some kind of bass horn) Then you would need another person to play some kind of drums/percussion, need somebody to play some treble instruments, somebody to play your mids.
    This is just a more modern interpretation of the same thing. Drums, Bass guitar, a 6 string guitar for your treble and mids, and then a vocalist. All music learns, and borrows from what/those that came before it. Classical music isn't everybody's cup of tea. But it's amazing that something like: Mussorgsky - The Great Gate At Kiev is from 1874, or you can go further back and listen to Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, in the 1700's. The skill, knowledge, and how advanced their ability was for being from 300+ years ago. It's quite mind blowing

      P.S. Antonio Vivaldi is the original shred king. If you listen to him. You can see where a lot of modern metal guitar players get their inspiration, especially for solis. The "scales and modes, key changes, etc," All borrowed, and modeled around classical stuff.
