    Great review, very informative.
    I am quite tempted to pull the trigger on the 100p or the 100 290g, as I am on the market for my first lower-than-330-SW racquet, and these 2 frames seem to fit the specs quite nicely while maintaining good stability.

    As part of a larger racket test I bought a lightly used 100P 2022 on a whim, i thought i prefered more open/spinny string patterns but this thing rocks! I'm a 3.5(ish) club player with a ohbh. Strung it with Volkl V-square 1.10mm @46lbs. It's plush with a nice blend of power/control/spin. I'm not a fan of the colour/design but it plays so nicely I'm willing to live with it. I just wish Prince would improve grommet availability in the UK/Europe.

    I love how the 100P has the 18x20 pattern, almost like an older Radical OS but with a slightly smaller head size, thin beam still.

    Great video thx! If I'm a high intermediate 3.5 coming out of a Head Instinct power 110, do you think the ATS Textreme Tour 100 290 would be a good one for me to demo? & if so, how does it compare to wilson clash & Head Boom or speed? Thx

    Thanks for advice regarding intermediate players and appropriate sticks. I had a 100 (310) but sent it back bc I doubted I could handle the weight, coming from 305’s. I’ve room to improve before I can competently handle those.

    • @akbarberlian
      @akbarberlian Год назад

      dont you think the 305 is more advanced since 18x20 ?

    • @paddlepower888
      @paddlepower888 Год назад

      @@akbarberlian My technique has some evolving to do before trying a 305 with an 18*20 string pattern. If I find all my balls land long in spite of changes in technique, I’d consider an 18*20 pattern. Five grams of extra weight is probably less an issue if the balance is Head light to the same or greater degree - I might take notice of swing weights.
      I am finding that the mental approach to technique is just as important as the technique itself. The Feel Tennis Instruction channel has the best lessons for that.
      Cheers.

    Hi Jonas, I always enjoy your great articles and youtube videos.
    Can you please compare Prince ATS Textreme 100P with Head Gravity tour (2019-2021). The paper specs are quite similar. I am looking at comfort (on arm and elbow), spin and (ease access of) power (as I have compact to medium swing path) of the rackets. Currently I am using Prince Phantom Pro 100 (16x18) and feel lack of power and would like to try 18x20 racket. Thanks in advance.

  • @LarzB
    @LarzB 2 года назад

    The 100p looks like a head speed pro, but with a little lower swing weight.
    As 95, the best one still is the Dunlop cx200 tour which comes in 16x19 and 18x20. Yes the Dunlop needs some lead to beef up the swing weight, but that's what advanced players want, a good platform racket for customization.
    I have also had the vcore 95 (both last version as well as the one before that) and they just feel too clunky and matched to the exact spec that i like, the Yonex vc95 feels slower and it's worse on serve (regarding power).

    How does Ats tour 98 compared to dunlop sx300 tour? I am currently using sx300 tour, i like the power and spin it provide, but sometimes it quite harsh on my arm and shoulder.
    Great review as always.

    • @bradfordstoll5191
      @bradfordstoll5191 2 года назад

      It’s definitely has a softer feel (I used to play with the SX 300). Spin and power are there, but the ball pocketing gives it more control. It does feel a little less whippy but not overly so. I’d definitely demo one.

    Just demoed new 95. Its nice but as VC95 user, Yonex has it beat on all categories. Noticeably its uncomfortable on off center hits, rather dead feeling overall. For me Prince are usually good but never are "great" rackets.

    I have the 98, and I cannot dial that frame in yet. My forehand sprays like crazy/has a very high launch angle and my backhand is way more flat than it has ever been. Possible that I’ve been trying too many racquets lately and have lost a feel for my strokes, but I’ve not really had the issue outside of this frame.

      @@Kliffot could be. Maybe I’ll go have it tested. Usually up to mid 330’s is fine though. Did try a prestige tour recently that came in at 352, and felt like I was swinging a tree branch.

    • @Kliffot
      @Kliffot 2 года назад +1

      @@EveryTimeIDavid Sometimes it's not the swingweight but the twistweight. Sometimes the frame is just too depolarized and has a cumbersome feel despite a manageable SW on the paper. An easy way to figure it out eitherway is to hold the raquet few millimeter down on the handle and add weight ( modeling paste for exemple ) at different location on the beam to see how it respond.

  • @ReidVV
    @ReidVV 2 года назад +2

    Please explain how Price says in business. They don' have any one racquet line that sells consistently. They are always fully developing new racquet ideas that only fit small niche markets and could not possibly be big sellers. Their strings may be OK, but they are poorly named and poorly marketed, I mean, who uses them? They only have sales deals through Tennis Warehouse and a couple of big box stores. Are Prince sales huge in Europe, or Asia, or Australia, or somewhere I'm not aware of? Where are their profits made? I guess I could ask the same for Volkl and ProKennex. Are there stats available on these companies annual sales and profits? Just to be clear, I like Prince racquets and I do see a good number of rec players using them, but these are usually much older models that were picked up second hand (including mine). I've never seen anyone with a new Prince racquet, although I know it happens. I was just wondering.

    • @Tennisnerd
      @Tennisnerd  2 года назад +1

      I think they make good products, but they're more succesful outside Europe. I think Asia is by far the largest market. I don't know their sales data though.

    • @ReidVV
      @ReidVV 2 года назад

      @@Tennisnerd I like Prince too. I don't see why more pro players don't use them. It just seems lame their model strategy is all over the place and this doesn't help their brand. Maybe more of a Babolat or even Tecnifibre racquet line strategy would help, but hey, Head has a whole lot of lines too and they are very successful, with some question marks, too, like who uses Instinct, right?

    • @harishreddy4034
      @harishreddy4034 Год назад

      I've wondered about this as well. They seem to cater to a market that doesn't exist. I bought two 93p's new and will never part with them, but their racquets simply are too oddball to suit the average club player. Power to them though, nobody else is making thin beam racquets like they do. I think where they fail is in providing a consistent string bed. Sometimes I wonder if they play tested their product before release. Almost feels like the 93P is an accidental masterpiece.

    • @alastairtheduke
      @alastairtheduke Год назад

      I think they're just trying to plug up niches that aren't filled by the big players. Hence why they have a lot of rare string patterns and funky designs. I like their racquet. I own two prince pahntom 100s. I think their strategy is throw stuff at the wall until something sticks. TW bought them and sell them exclusively in the U.S. I'm sure TW got a great deal on buying a famous brand. Racquets are pretty high margin, you don't need to sell a ton of them to stay in business, especially for a company like TW that can plug up the niches.
