    GMW Tank500 has just won one of the highest 5 star safety rating in ANCAP’s history, much safer than Prado and landcruiser! You can tell how far the Chinese vehicles come from. Cannon Alfa is also based on Tank 500. Like more competition. The new Prado is going to increase its price by $12k when it comes to Australia. How greedy Toyota is. We have been ripped off by the Japanese/American/European car manufactures so long. My friend has driven his GMW Cannon for over 3 years travelled 100,000kms, it a very reliable and solid ute, plus it still has 4 year warranty remaining, how confident GWM is!

      ANCAP only goes up to 5 stars, so you can’t do better than that on the test. Don’t forget the Tank 300 also got 5 stars, but also lifts its rear wheels off the ground on heavy braking. I personally wouldn’t trust my life with a Chinese vehicle, especially when the Chinese don’t either following recent crashes with airbags failing to deploy and doors not being able to be opened.

      @@c.quinny I can tell you do not even have basics about car. 5 star also have different scores. Tank 500 scored 93 while Prado and landcruiser only scored around 80. You should complain to ANCAP why it gives higher safety score to GWM rather than Prado and landcruiser. LOL.

    But. But do you realise that those annoying beeps and bongs can be adjusted? I would rather detune the bing's and bongs, put all the saved money in the bank over buying an outdated Hilux.
    Why do reviewers not know, or say, that the features can mostly be detuned or over ridden. Why do they not say that the Hilux simply doesn't have those features in the first place?

    • @rabaker7253
      @rabaker7253 6 месяцев назад +12

      You're 100% right....so many don't both to work out how to switch them off. All vehicles (all brands) will have these annoying systems soon if they want to have their 5-star ANCAP rating....even if most people don't want them. I have an LDV D90, and I was able to switch off most chimes/alerts that come up - and it stays off every time I start the car - - but I think most new vehicles this is an area that has changed. I'd look closely at what can and cannot be switched off and what 'safety features' go back to default every time you start the car.

    I hope someday we can watch a truly impartial, honest, and knowledgeable person to conduct car reviews. Nowadays, every new car must include all the mandatory "Bings and bongs" to achieve a 5-star ANCAP rating. GWM includes these features in its already affordable price. GWM is exposing the likes of Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Ford, etc, for ripping off the consumers for years, with a over priced, basic outdated product.

      @RedDog-e7v Месяц назад

      Impartial and honest, yeah righto champ, just like all the paid reviews on RUclips of Chinese vehicles paid for by Chinese car companies full of Chinese 50 cent army comments on the comments section,like that sort of impartial?

    • @wayneleungwai3329
      @wayneleungwai3329 Месяц назад

      You must be a Toyota supporter. @RedDog-e7v At the end of the day, Toyota and other manufacturers you support aren’t exactly loyal to their customers. With what Chinese companies are offering-often a superior product at a more reasonable price-it’s a welcome change in these unpredictable times. Healthy competition from Chinese carmakers is driving other brands to reconsider their pricing, which only benefits us, the consumers.
      Are you saying that the review here is impartial and honest? And what paid reviews on RUclips are you talking about? Do you think other car brands don’t practice the same process? You think this review here isn’t paid? It might as well have been, with the way it was conducted, including contradictory comments and favouring personal opinions. The reviewers seem to have one leg on the fence, with the other firmly on Toyota’s side.
      For this Hilux, it’s priced at almost 70k before the optional interior, which costs another $2500. Meanwhile, the Cannon Alpha is well under 60k, with everything included-arguably a better interior as well (all included in the price). The Alpha also comes with a “longer 7-year roadside assist and longer service intervals; we just don’t know the price.” The reviewer mentioned that “Hilux is affordable to service in the first three years”-but affordable compared to what? Even the tub liner and roof racks are extra with the Hilux, adding to an already inflated price.
      The review starts positively about the Cannon Alpha’s interior but then tries to spin it negatively, nitpicking on things like the tachometer and volume reset difficulties, not to mention temperature settings. In fact, the reviewer stated that the tachometer was missing from the digital dash, but this was only because he didn’t know how to use the system. Don’t you think the reviewer’s lack of tech-savvy might be the issue? Later, he calls the Toyota’s interior old and less techy, yet somehow spins it as “comfortable.” Remember, that interior upgrade is an extra cost to consumers. He again calls the Toyota interior aging, yet says, “at least it’s easier to change the volume and adjust the temperature,” pointing out that the Toyota has a proper tachometer.
      I could keep pointing out more details to support my argument, but honestly, that might take all day. For now, it’s enough to say that it’s a positive thing that the market is becoming more competitive. This kind of competition pushes all brands to offer better and more affordable products for the rest of us, rather than relying on brand loyalty and inflated prices for outdated features.
      It’s clear that newer players like GWM are stepping up with value-packed offerings that force established brands to rethink what they’re delivering and at what price. Instead of dismissing these brands outright, maybe it’s time we give credit to those that prioritize quality, affordability, and innovation-qualities that ultimately benefit consumers the most.

      @wayneleungwai3329 Месяц назад

      @RedDog-e7v It’s a shame you only read the first few words because you missed the point of my comment. I’m not “anti-Toyota” or “pro-Chinese,” but I am a fan of fair competition. I’m simply pointing out that some brands offer good value for the money, especially as vehicle prices keep rising. If it means consumers can save a bit and still get quality, why not consider all options?
      Toyota makes solid vehicles, no doubt, but being open to alternatives doesn’t make someone less of a “real man” or less qualified to talk about cars. Different people have different needs, whether for work or personal use, and a competitive market helps ensure everyone can find the right vehicle without paying a premium just for the brand.
      At the end of the day, we’re all just here to share opinions. Whether it’s Toyota, a Chinese brand, or any other manufacturer, the choice should come down to what works best for the individual-not just brand loyalty.

      I beg to differ, once people realise they are paying for a badge.. value will drop through the floor on the old Toyota's. What are you going to do, buy a 2018 Hilux for $40,000 or a brand new Cannon for $41000 with seven years of warranty on it. It's a no brainer.

    • @Gordon_L
      @Gordon_L 3 месяца назад

      @@55commodore To start with your Cannon ute is not a Cannon Alpha at that price and secondly I suggest you go to Redbook and look a 2022 GWM Ute Cannon XSR Auto 4x4 Dual Cab , only 2 years old yet the resale has dropped by a large margin . You want to buy a Chinese car , go right ahead , it does not matter to me . Lastly , I'll take an appropriate engine such as 2.8 litre for a vehicle that size and weight over a puny 2 litre everyday , performance from small engines comes at the cost of longevity. The 2.8 will still be running many years after the 2 litre has expired or needs rebuild , parts availability permitting.
