Welcome back! Better hurry up to beat me to the track! Oh wait, too late haha. We hit the track with our Hondas yesterday, but great to hear you've got a September deadline to get yours up and running 👏

Haha, dang, it was a gamble of not knowing how fast your guys were going to get to them...and then you rocked them out fast! Still a win though for me - love the builds and seeing them come together! Pumped to see you guys get some VTEC filled track time - looking forward to the results!

New subscriber from your Tsukuba coverage but have gone back and watched all the older videos. Really enjoyed your workshop visit videos especially.
Glad your back but no pressure to make content just wanted to say thanks for sharing with us what you do👍🏻

I really appreciate that, thank you! The support from the community really helps! It's just a matter of working towards making it all sustainable to produce the content I want to on a regular basis. Trying to avoid too many of the easy UpGarage and Daikoku videos that have been done to death.

Any CRX parts would sell well on your site. I need to check it out. Do you have an instagram for your yahoo auction items?

Thanks! It's been a process but quite rewarding seeing the transformation! And yeah, @nerdgold.jp on Instagram or the site is www.nerdgold.jp. I don't stock many chassis specific items since markets are so specific but if you find something on YAJ or wherever I can help with that.👍

Dear Steve, firstly thank you a lot for the content. I ended up stranded at home sick last week and the DC2 playlist was a blessing. I really like you approach to do most out of stuff in your reach/budget.
I own kind of similar car, MB6 chassis (B18C4, same variable length intake as your B18) and spent my time with similar hobby.
I have to say what a shame I am so behind your schedule, because several times "Steve you fool, let's see if you hit the dead end as me before". Lot of the time service manual would give you an answer, like door wiring, how to remove interior trim around the shifter, you name it. I can't recommend enough to have one and put it in use.
Something you woudn't find there, those plastic screw holders around filler hose covers (and on other places around floor), penetrating with WD-40 or something to get the dirt from the thread helps a lot, otherwise you strip that plastic head easy. Same thing with all clicky ones, fine dirt got stuck and they don't want to slide anymore. I am little bit skeptical regarding your brake slider pins refresh, from my experience brushing off the pins/pads bracket from this stage of stuck doesn't last very long, because the rest of the surface treatment that use to be there is removed during brushing process. Pins should be quite cheap to replace, with pads/calipers brackets its more difficult. Usually rust creeps around the boot again pretty fast (you park your car outside, so every rain means wet condition), since there is no surface treatment anymore, rust choke the pin there again. Only long term remedy is new bracket or some DIY zinc plating attempt, otherwise you have to keep an eye on it constantly.
Good like with forthcoming work, and since you asked, clean up the original black oil cap, EK9 too bling bling ;)

Thanks for joining the journey and going through the build! I've had a similar experience where a build playlist made being sick wayyy more interesting.
You make lots of good points. I do have the service manual but generally don't reference it beforehand unless I know I'm getting into a situation of needing it (like the timing belt and valve lash adjustment). The door wiring and center console type situations, I'm just filming and reacting in real time. Both those situations were surprises and sometimes it's better time spent to move on than stop and look through the FSM trying to figure stuff out (especially when I don't have the tools on hand, like a multimeter). But yeah, like you said - great resource and I should probably remember to reference it more.
You're 100% right on the calipers. Those repair parts are cheap and super easy to buy in America. I did a lot of looking and couldn't find them here for whatever reason. On yahoo auctions, used calipers are rather expensive and likely the same condition. New OEM calipers are quite expensive. Japan just doesn't have the same readily available "DIY parts supply" as America and likely other parts of the world. Somethings are just strangely hard to get like the brake caliper brackets/sliders, as I found out. I'll keep it in mind though and get sort it out - good reminder.
And sadly, I don't think I have an OEM black oil cap. I think it's some random cap someone else put on. I like the EK9 oil cap's shape and fit better...I just wish I had a black version of that style.
Thanks for the thoughtful message and your advice and suggestions! Hopefully I'll have some driving videos before too long!

Loving the content. Found the channel and I have been spamming this playlist. I am based in South Africa and unfortunately we did not get the ITR's down here. I would love to reach out about the 96 EK 4 door parts. Are they something that can be found there?

Oh nice, really appreciate that! Yeah, parts for those cars are available - not quite as common but there's still some stuff around. If you find something you're after, feel free to email me the link via the contact form on www.nerdgold.jp and I'll send you an estimate.
