One time me, my brother and my sister were playing. My brother's usual "tactic" was always get boardwalk, spam houses and get a hotel. On my second turn I landed on a card space and got the "go to Boardwalk" card. My brother suddenly didn't want to play anymore

I always hate how some people are so excited to play and cocky about how they’re going to win until you mess up the same exact plan they use every time and then instead of finding a different way to win they just act entitled as shit and refuse to keep playing. My brother is like that and it’s not fun to play games with him. He acts like he’s so good at the game and then suddenly, “I don’t need to prove it to you I’m bored anyways”

yeah, they were ragging on Wade's trades, but he ultimately put himself in a really good position with those. He just didn't know how to maximize them
@@intalent he put himself into a somewhat decent position by having the purples and oranges but gave Bob the dark blues while Bob had a ton of money, and then didn't capitalize on buying houses while he still could.
Not to mention that the magenta and orange sets gives him one whole side of the board.

Bob wants Black and Blue, this will fix him 2 monopolies (They are sets, which is really high value), but Wade for some reason agrees to take light blue, white, and 2 greens from Bob.
Those result in only 1 weak monopoly for Wade, the offeror is losing out on his own deal.
Bob tries to persuade Wade with the "4 cards is more than the 2 you are offering", however, if you look closely, despite the value difference, Bob completes his blue and black sets. Wade has only 1 sets, which is a weak set.
Mark is frustrated with Wade for such a blunder, which should be clear to see if you notice the total hands of both of them.

I remember i was playing this game with my family and i had two houses on Boardwalk. My dad landed on it and he just goes "What am i, staying in both houses?" and that was so funny we had to stop the game because my brother almost choked to death on root beer.
I was playing last weekend, and I had a hotel on both boardwalk and park place, so rent was 2000 and 1500. Eventually, I put everyone but my mom into bankruptcy, but she gave up when I had everything except the 15 bucks she had. It was fun

There's a pretty dominant strategy that they accidentally employed.
You want to load your properties with 4 houses *BUT NEVER UPGRADE TO HOTELS*
Since there are a limited number of houses and the only ways to get houses back into circulation after they're built is to sell them or to replace them with a hotel, by having 4 houses on as many properties as you can and yet refusing to upgrade to hotels (and therefore keeping the resource of houses scarce); You keep your opponents from buying any houses
This leads into an additional level of strategy where the light blue properties are some of the most valuable, since they can hold a total of 12 houses (and therefore deprive your opponents of them) but the houses placed there cost much less than other properties.
The same holds true for the brown properties, but less so as they only have a max cap of 8 houses

True, except in this case Bob did it to himself, as he had his Cheap-Os filled with houses and then couldn't build on his own Boardwalk. It would have been smarter for him to build there first, then load the cheap ones with the remaining. It also didn't work out for him anyway, cause Mark was the only other person who couldn't build houses, and he ended up winning. lol

I think, anyways, I dont really know how to play monopoly nor do I care to learn, I just listen to these guys play because they're funny and good background noise

For those confused about the speed die:
- Rolling a bus lets you move either the amount of one of your dice or both.
For example, rolling a 5 + 2 + bus lets you move 2, 5 or 7 spaces.
- Rolling a person will move you to the next unowned property (after the total of the other dice) unless all properties are owned, in which case it sends you to the next property (after the total of the other dice) you don't own.
For example, rolling a 4 + 6 + person will move you to the next unowned property at least 11 spaces in front of you, unless the only unowned property(s) are less than 11 spaces ahead. If there are no unowned properties, it will take you to the next property you don't own at least 11 spaces ahead of you.
- Rolling a double will move you that many spaces - the other die is unused and you roll again.
- Rolling a triple will let you move to any space on the board.
- Rolling anything else will move you by the total of the three dice.
In other words, if there are no unowned properties, you don't want to roll a person.

@@jowilson6152 I'm not 100% sure, but looking at how the rounds went that seems to be the case. For instance;
- At 9:45 Wade rolls a double-2 with an extra 3, but only moves 4 spaces.
- At 12:42 Mark rolls a double-4 with a person, but moves 8 spaces instead of going to the next available property after that.
I never thought a simple board game would cause us humans to turn against each other and bring our inner bloodlust into light just over landing on properties

Being jailed is perfect especially when all properties are owned and theres already houses on it... its a common strategy for monopoly players to avoid landing on properties and pay rent while still collect rent if players lands on your property...
Being jailed early on is quite a disadvantage tho it takes away your chance on buying those unowned properties...

Aayush Lokhande It’s really not tho because you’re not allowed to collect money while in jail so if anyone lands on your properties while you’re in jail you don’t make any money. Atleast that’s how the real rules of Monopoly work... I haven’t gotten through the entire video yet so idk if that rule applies in this online version but every version I’ve ever seen of the game/all the rules state you’re not allowed to collect money while in jail.

The official rules state "Even though you are in Jail, you may buy or sell property, buy or sell houses and hotels and collect rents" (Monopoly Millennium Edition P.9).
The only thing you lose out on from going to jail is the $200 you might otherwise get from passing Go. That's why Jail is considered good late-game in competitive monopoly; you aren't in danger of landing on your opponents' property for up to three turns (at which point you must pay a $50 fine and leave). It's particularly effective when there's only two players remaining, since whoever is not in jail doesn't gain anything from landing on their own property.
Narifamen actually no... the REAL Monopoly rules state you can’t collect money, trade, etc etc while in jail. I’m not talking internet rules or the rules you’ve prob read online, I’m talking the legit rule book that comes with the game when you buy it. Don’t believe everything you read online lol

Thanks for knowing the actual rules tho cause some guy in the comments is getting smart with me telling me I’m wrong when I’m actually right lol the REAL Monopoly rules state you can’t collect money, trade, etc etc. while in jail.
