      I don't disagree, but also keep in mind that games aren't developed in "chronological order". The beginning of the game isn't developed first, and the end isn't developed last. For example, in Doom, the first level was actually the last level they made.

      @@EmilyCorradino Nintendo seems to do these in order for the most part especially as they used to do demos..and their trailers normally only showcase early stuff meaning they've sorted out the beginning but not the end typically. The fact it wasn't completed means it likely was an older in the timeline concept (if it was going to be around a lot in the game it would of been more finished with variations to make it not as hard in the beginning) but once they made a huge chunk of the game they decided it didn't fit and stopped putting it off picking to instead scrap it. These aren't exactly the standard "run around do whatever" games like doom..these have a story and each part attaches to the plot and needs to go in a set order mostly thus they wouldn't work on the ending first because if they decide to change later parts they'd have to redo it thus wasting time. A game where you run around and kill things can mostly just be done in whatever order. What order a game is made in really depends on the type of game along with the devs making it!

    I’d think of Ehl as a blind enemy. One that would wander the map aimlessly and loom the halls with a ghastly moan. If you hear the moan, you need to hide. If you make too much notice when it’s looming close by, it will go on the defense and attack aimlessly with the elements it wields. Since it can’t see, if you remain still for a while, it will move on. Eventually, you would have to lure Ehl into an area which would stun or immobilize it, allowing its cage-like body to expose an item you needed and you could grab it before it collect itself and continue moving on.
    When Ehl shows up, the music goes deaf, leaving the only sound being the creature shuffling slowly around, gasping and moaning. The louder it gets, the closer it is. Opening doors, knocking on objects, using the game boy horror, etc. would draw in Ehl’s attention, but using the vacuum would cause Ehl to make a B-line straight to Luigi, making use of the vacuum a risky move if you need to suck up something like a key to move on before Ehl gets too close.

    • @FlamesOfTheRuined
      @FlamesOfTheRuined 2 года назад +7

      @@deltamills5641 pretty much, only instead of scary music, it’s only the sounds from Ehl, giving you an idea how far away it is from your position based on the volume of its sounds. If the background music stops playing while you’re exploring, either stay put, or risk it by moving somewhere else.
      Keep quiet, and it will move on. Make too much noice, it will track you down. Overdo it, and it will make a beeline towards you. It could be an instant kill too if it attacks, making its presence all the more terrifying, though I guess that would be on a hard game difficulty. If it’s on a normal or easy mode, Ehl will not be as sensitive to sounds you make and not deal as much damage.
      Think of it like a cross between (as you mentioned) A Quiet Place Monster, Lady Dimitrescu, and the SA-X from Metroid Fusion.

    They have elements scattered throughout the mansion in places that you generally don't stop at too often like the fire in hallways or water in bathroom water tanks. I think they might have originally gave so many chances to use elements in various places to stop him at one point. Rather than being able to permanently defeat him, he would come back every time randomly even in the light. He would be incredibly intimidating in that case. Personally, I doubt that, but what do I know? I’m only going by the following logic: The ‘L is Real thing’ is more than likely just a texture that looks like a message. Elh is not found anywhere in 64’s code either (to my knowledge). And that’s probably because it’s on a completely different platform… an entirely different console that came out years before Luigi’s Mansion’s development had been started and it’s console released. Also why would a creepy boss fight be in the hub world instead of the ghost house stage… or ANY stage. Never mind the fact that the ‘mysterious message’ in 64 has had virtually nothing uncovered about it that’s led anyone anywhere truly useful for at least twenty something years, give or take a few. (There’s also the fact Elh’s names pronunciation like the first part of ‘Element’ and it had elemental assets associated with it in Luigi’s Mansion’s files, as seen in the video)
      What I’m saying is that the chances of Elh being anything remotely associated with a vague texture in 64 is so cosmically unlikely that the odds of you surviving being stuck by lightning are notably greater than the odds of this theory being true.

He would block the door to the graveyard and attack with ice and fire, a hint to use the water elemental attack to destroy him. But the devs thought that wouldn't work either for some reason. Maybe they thought the hint to attack with water was too cryptic (because you wouldn't acquire ice until after getting past him so how would you know that ice is an element you can wield on your 1st playthrough) or his design was too scary for a kids game or something but whatever the reason, he was replaced with the burning door and left unused. What really sold me on this theory was his animations and connection to fire and ice.

Also maybe if you went outside too much, It would chase you inside the building and force you to have to find a Fire or Ice attachment to defeat it, Depending on which it was using. You could then travel into the woods and discover a secret or something idk.

    What if elh stood for something like “egad lab helper” or something like that where it’s a ghost that would help you like how the ghosts are friendly in dark moon what if the cage in its chest could be used to trap boos in place or what if the elements we see elh have could have been used to give you elements like if you needed water to put out the fire in the kitchen elh could give it to you. I’m probably way off but I think elh is a weird name so I think it’s an abbreviation for something.

  • @I_Still_Exist
    @I_Still_Exist 3 года назад +2

    I'll try to piece this together the best I can.
    Elh is an abbreviation, E.L.H.
    What it stands for is unknown, but my guess is Elementally Limiting Horror.
    This would imply that you would not be able to use Elements against it, making it almost immortal.
    You would get it to use it's body slam attack and then strike at E.L.H until they leave.
    They would pursue you, blocking certain areas that you haven't unlocked yet.
    It would be a late game enemy.
    It would be finally battled in the graveyard, due to the root like cage in it's chest and leaf-like hands.
    It would contain an item in the cage, possibly a Mario item.
    Using these clues, my guess is that E.L.H. would be a reoccurring boss that chases you, blocking areas that you haven't unlocked. Their final fight would be at the graveyard, giving you the fire element and a Mario item to go along with it.

Gadd's lab after beating the boss ghosts or hitting certain story checkpoints - like freeing the Boos and King Boo from the basement? It could easily explain how the ghost would be able to use both the Fire and Ice Elements - considering the strength of Power Stars in the Mario series in general - and you couldn't defeat it unless you got a certain item in the late game or got all three Elemental Medals. But that's just my thought.

    I just realized that 3 of the 4 keys are given out by major boss ghosts.
    The Van-gore fight always felt too easy to me, considering he's one of the last "fights", and give the diamond key, which always felt anticlimactic.
    Looking at Ell, his design kinda reminds me of those abstract art pieces. Perhaps Ell could have been one of Van-gores last creations, and worked as a major boss after capturing him making Van-gore live up to that hype of "Ghost creator"
    Hear me out.
    After defeating Van-gore, instead of the normal lights coming on, the lights turn purple, you'd walk up to the chest spawned in the middle of the room and a cutscene plays, Luigi is about to open the chest when it's suddenly engulfed, as Ell rises from the ground. The creature then hops into the painting Van-gore was working on as Luigi gives chase leading to a Boss arena with A fountain, And one of those furnaces used to make glass in. Each one spouting the respective element. Luigi would have to alternate between elements in order to melt away at the beast so he could reach the chest. The creature could summon walls of fire and ice to hide behind and would sidestep to hit Luigi with beams of Ice and fire should the player try exploiting this mechanic. After defeat the monster would just fade away, dropping the chest. After returning, E.Gadd would call Luigi astonished at the discovery of such a bizarre ghost, realizing there are many ghosts yet undiscovered, and he must be the one to do so. Allowing Luigi to return to the Lab after getting the chest so he could try to salvage any remnants the Ghost left on it ( giving Luigi the key as a "thank you" ), which would also allow the player a breather and chance to prepare for king boo.
    Yeah, I Know it's kinda stupid and wouldn't work that well, but stranger things have happened.

    I'm sorry if I missed the last video, but my theory for years ever since I saw of Elh's existence, the first thing I noticed was that their body; it appears to be composed of goo or some gelatinous substance. My initial theory about Elh was that it was the original version of Bogmire. Considering Bogmire was imported late into schedule of the game. Leading to the fact that bogmire has no heart like the other boss ghosts and his animations look rushed, however in the 3ds port he seems more polished and has a heart there aswell. But after hearing that be may be a progress block. My theory about Elh had shifted from a potential boss to one of the shadow Bogmire Luigi needs to suck up into the Poltergust to shoot back at Bogmire. At first it seems like a wacky idea; but the shadow Bogmire pursue Luigi, but what is blocking Bogmire from being hit with the shadow goo? This is where Elh comes into play. You mention that he has a strafe animation that can go either left or right. He would appear out of the ground as soon as Luigi has Shadow Goo in the nozzle of the Poltergust. He would strafe left or right to intersect Luigi from hitting Bogmire. The cage like element would store the Goo, the more Elh holds, the slower they become and possible overencomber. This is my theory about Elh and possibly one day this could possibly shed light apon one of the many lost and scrapped enemies in this gamecube classic.

  • @starjojostar

    Ehl could have been a creature that you would have to be wary of because it could disguise itself as stuff.
    For example, let's use a theoretical concept of going into the forest. Luigi could enter the forest, explore a bit, and find this medium sized area with dead leaves and multiple tree doors blocking certain routes. You'd most likely try to walk to a door and open it, right? Well, before you could get to the closest door, a pile of leaves suddenly begin shifting and contorting, and then Elh arises! You'd then run and hide from elh in the forest as you proceeded through that area.
    Then, a little later in the game you would return to the mansion, doing what you usually do, when suddenly, you get an urgent call on the gameboy horror. Professor egadd essentially says that weird creature followed you into the mansion and is roaming it, and is in the room nearby, so you'll need to hide somewhere. And about the disguise thing, elh would disguise itself as random objects or items you would usually check if you saw, and if you got close enough, elh would arise and start chasing after you for a period of time again
    I dunno I'm probably putting too much thought into this lol
