I have two Spore Druid/Fighter builds haha. Each time, since its so easy to get torches and two weapon fighting, I always get Shillelagh and cast it on both torches before a fight and grab savage attacker. Symbiotic Entity and stack just random sources of damage and you delete enemies with torches. Until Act 2 where you get the Ironwood Club I think its called and act 3 where mystic carion's torch can be stolen, the one that does fire and necrotic damage on attack.
Yeah I love the Torch of revocation! It’s the only weapon in the game that gives two different damage types on it. It’s quite solid honestly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
@@Stranglebat I totally get where youre coming from. At first I hated it, and these days... I don't like it hahaha. But all I do is cast it, and then press i, and switch the weapons in my hand that way. I've seen people put their weapons on the hotbar and I hated it that way.
Hi! Love the build and videos! I have been thinking of doing a Druid Fighter for Patch 7 Honour mode and this is a lot of help! Worth maybe mentioning that starting with Fighter also benefits both the Heavy Armor and Constitution Saving Throw Proficiency, so for someone who concentrates on a spell often that would be the better choice to start with.
I always use Spore druid as a way to get easy debuff on important enemy, only cost a reaction is pretty nice. wet is a debuff that does not require saving throws. So it is always 100%, then it triggers all the other debuffs. 1 turn debuff + control in act 1 is crazy, and I can still have 1 bonus action to jump around. Poison, fire, acid, bleed, smoke are also possible if you have the flask.
Wait, I just noticed no one actually knows how to use reaction to make surface and create wet condition in the English community. Unbelievable. Or is it just you don't know.
This is a great video and I like the idea, but I think I'm going to go Ranger for the martial class instead; I want to save Eldritch Knight for something where I'm more focused on the very cool weapon throwing aspect.
I wouldn't suggest taking anything with a save roll or attack roll on your EK levels as they will use your int. Def pick up stuff like, blade ward, friends, sheild, and magic missile. Grab bone chill etc from druid for your wisdom rolls. Frees you up for different headgear too. The throwing weapons have soke shenanigans with entering and exiting combat, its always when you either start or finish an encounter with them that the return function fails. And sometimes if you end their turn before it comes back, think I saw that once or twice
Yeah I mentioned shield and magic missile are solid. I’m using the headband of intellgence here so we have a +3 to int spells but you’re not going to be casting them often / ever Yeah the throwing weapons are a bit weird, always check inventory before leaving a combat area!
I am playing Tactician mode, starting Druid js not as tough as one might think. As it is, i am level 7 and nearing the end of Act 1.5 with my pure Spore Druid Duergar. Fun concept. By act 3, I would consider respec-ing into Champion Fighter - Spore Druid since the main reasons for Eldrich Knight become irrelevant. Insanely high AC = no need for shield. Throwing nyrulna(dwarven thrower if you are playing/disguised Dwarf) means homing weapons and therefore no need for bonded weapon. Plus, better crit threshold.
Yeah Druid start gets Shillelagh which is awesome early game damage with a torch. The eldritch knight gives us access to a second level 4 spell slot, and shield is good no matter the armor class since you only use it when needed to avoid an attack. But the champion could work well too
@@JasonDunnaYep, I torched up for a good while. Then got the gold wyrmling staff, and am now using the mourning frost. For now it's one at a time while using a shield. But I am eager to try duel wielding for loads of damage stacking. I tend to get tripped up by the whole half caster and full caster spell slot progression. But yeah, more level 4 slots that don't require a spellcrux amulet or freecast from Markoheshkir is nice. By that point, you are juggling woodland being, lesser elemental, and the chance to upcast raise dead for multiple skeletons/zombies.
Hey, I'm about to start my first Dark Urge playthrough. Do you have any recommendations for the classes and build? I'd probably like to play as a sorcerer or with 2 daggers.
Coming back to the game after so long because of Patch 7 and I'm using this build in my run. Question I'm trying to understand though. How is your attack bonus so high with just 8 str and using str based weapons? Str elixirs?
I tried asking the ones who do ending videos and they have not got back to me. Maybe you should saying something in the comments of MELOO and Gamerpillar.
Best way to pronounce Shillelagh is "glowing stick spell" :P
Perfect!! Hahaha I’ll just start saying that

I always find having to cast shillelagh on both weapons so cumbersome. keeps me away from doing these builds.
@@Stranglebat doesn't it apply it to both with once cast? Coulda sworn I read thst somewhere

@@feircy Unfortunately it doesn't. I feel like that'd be such a QoL situation if they did that.

Yeah that’s true that’s the reasoning I took it first! This class combination is surprisingly good

One I'm thinking of is a way of the shadow monk and gloomstalker ranger I wander if this would work
Hmmmm leave it with me and I’ll put something together!
Wouldnt a greatsword be strength based? Guess I didnt quite understand going hard dex but dumping strength unless youre using strength pots
That's what he's doing, using strength elixirs, but he did say at first you can use the strength club at the start

This is a solid sorcerer build for dark urge! It can hit spells that deal 168 damage. It’s crazy

I was wondering that too. I remand the build and used an elixir of cloud giant strength and got the high attack bonus on str.
