Wow I really misread this I thought you said "I'm getting tired of hearing this guy talk about Baldur's Gate" and was about to throw hands but my bad I apparently can't read! 😂
Currently doing an HM run and I'm basically playing this character. I will say that the one level cleric dip works really well with this build, even more so than usual. Since both use Wisdom, Cleric can still prepare four spells with 16 Wis, and those spells are really useful. Sanctuary is of course incredible (especially if you want to abuse Moonbeam), you can have your healing prepared here to spare the druid spell slots, and inflict wounds is really good for when someone does enough damage to knock you out of your beast form. At that point you're already most likely in melee with them, and that spell is capable of outputting a lot of damage. Also, war cleric gives you proficiency with the weapons of the Myrmidons. I will also say that someone with the buff-on-heal gear and ideally also Warden of Vitality works really well with this character because the beast forms really benefit from bladeward and with bless combined with tavern brawler, you aren't missing... ever.
You really didn't need to leave that bit about the spider on your ceiling in, but I'm glad you did. Got a fair chuckle out of me. Hope he didn't give you too much trouble.
Excellent guide as always. Another feat I think is worth considering on Druid level 8 is the alert feat. If you like staying in Wild shape form it provides increased initiative while gear can’t. This is especially good with Myrmidon forms.
I'm late but I didn't take alert. I wear initiative gear for starting fights in humanoid form and if I'm starting in animal form I try to get a surprise round with with Panther/Air Myrmidon invisibility or by suprising enemies with crushing flight. That being said I didn't cast spells in human form much after level 10 so maybe wisdom isn't that necessary and you could afford to take alert
I remember hearing comments about how most gear and features do not work while in Wild Shape. The Blood of Lathander blind does work while in Wild Shape and I haven't heard it mentioned. Great for act 2. I equipped the weapon because the heal would trigger if the druid were ever damaged out of wild shape and downed. Noticed the blind triggering.
Something I really appreciate is how well you do background music. It's the perfect ambiance AND isn't too loud - you really do an amazing job implementing it. Good job bro!
Thank you very much for your work! I’m not an experienced gamer but i love baldurs gate and now trying to do honor mode. This build abd your other builds, including the fire damage sorcerer have brought me through the first two acts with hardly any revivify scrolls used❤
I was really high on Druids when I first got Hansil in my party and started speccing him. The versatility is amazing and you can spec into caster, healer, melee or support while having medium armor proficiency from the get go. Then the druids got pushed out of my party along the way in favor of the characters I formed the deepest bond with (Karlach and Gale) and my suprising tank build Wyll (pallock). Multiclassing can push the versatility even further.
8:15 I can confirm it’s still horrifically annoying to use produce flame and it seems to bug out worse on custom characters. 95% of the time when you open the radial to throw it the only option is to dismiss. Hunters mark, witch bolt activation, and heat metal all also require you to replace the use action on your radial. It’s very annoying because spells like call lightning do not do this and work fine allowing you to use the spell’s radial without difficulty.
I would argue for taking Resilient: Dexterity feat at level 8 (if you find yourself being in Wild Shape most of the time) This improves AC and initiative for Panther and Saber Toothed Cat shape, and proficiency in Dex saves is very useful fpr a melee frontliner, especially once you start fighting higher level spell casters
This information is actually really good for the Hag-themed solo build I’ve been plotting

I always loved Druid in D&D so I am glad to see that they are very good in BG3 as well. Wild-shape was always very fun and honestly, it's not a huge surprise that later in life I really got into playing White Wholfs Werewolf since there is a pretty good Druid feel to Some of the Werewolf tribes. I am not an enviro-terrorist or anything, but I do like trees and the wild.
I found that I like the Druid/hunter multi class. Reason being, I hardly use wild shape because you have to decast it to talk to anyone who is not a companion and essential burn a wild shape form. If they change this, I would go full Druid, because those myriads are gnarly. I use the wild shapes for utility, sneaking, accessing areas, or if I’m getting screwed. Hunter Druid really shines in the third act if you pick up the scimitar blem and make your hunter a range fighter. Then use sharpshooter and savage attacker. 7 levels of druid and 5 of hunter. Not to go into all the details, but with the right gear, (gloves of dexterity meaning you can set dex to 8 when resetting your class). You basically get 2 ranged shots and a melee attack in one turn, instead of a melee (which you get from blem) you can use any other bonus action after the two ranged attacks. Or you can use the spells first, then the melee. And the 7 levels of Druid give you the woodland being summons and minor elemental. It’s probably not a build for everyone, but with how I play, I like it, makes you a strong fighter, good at lock picking, and you can handle most dialogue checks with ease. Also both classes benefit from wisdom and are nature oriented.
I love your videos, and was wondering if you would ever consider doing a general gameplay or combat strategy video? I often feel like I am not using your builds very well and I feel like I am not approaching combat the same way you are at all.
The broken (quite literally) thing about the earth Myrmidon is the thunder damage on the unnarmed strike. The tooltip reads 1d10 thunder damage, however it is actuallt 3d10 (3 - 30) This can be checked on the damage calculation log when hitting an enemy :)
The Resilient feat is also carrying through wildshape, so instead of 2xASI WIS+2 you can just buff your wildshape odd stats with Resilient DEX, CON or STR+1 ;)
I think the idea of laying down concentration options before you wild shape is good in theory but little was done here in my opinion to actually protect your concentration. A +3-4 save is not ideal for repeated hits you should be taking since we can’t optimize wild shape AC. I believe a better way to play is deploying concentration options out of wild shape where we can use positioning and potential other party members to absorb the attention, and excellent non concentration options such as summons to buff our capabilities and go in. Or just take a fighter 1 for weapons for mirms, and con prof+ still getting improved extra attacks and 6 tier Druid spells.
Yes produce flame, and some other spells that have a "recast" ability are terribly horrific. You will cast it, and then you will have to navigate the clunky menus to "equip" dispel flame, or throw flame. I cannot express how revolutionary the menus have been on pc
if i play druid (mostly Moon) as a main i always start with 8 8 16 10 17 14 they get hatband of intellect to swap in when needed, gloves of dexterety, hags hair, the strength elixier from act 2 that works in wild shape, the bow with initiativ, shield with initiativ, ASI Wisdom for the 20, tavern brawler, weapon proficiency for the Elemental forms, Mirror of loss for 22 Wisdom, and mostly wear ice based gear.
Although summons can be annoying, I like to have summons in my party as meat shields. How about a summons tier list? Scratch, Shovel, Us, Ranger's Companion, Fungal Zombies, Woodland Being, Myrmidons, Danse Macabre... Which ones give the best utility, best damage? Which ones to avoid? Or should I even bother?
Draconic sorc in honor mode. Bonus HP work in wildshape? Have to check, but the ac with no armor, i wonder if that works, I wonder if it works with the druid armor since that bonus persists, but you are not wearing armor in wild shape. Technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.
Could you do an Honor Mode party that all share the same base class. Like all Bards but different multi-classes, or something like that. I think it could be a cool theme!
It's just a difference in narrative playstyle. Coming to the point of being able to accept failure in persuasion attempts is the biggest hurdle. Sometimes the consequences can be fun (and the rewards are often better because loot + extra XP. Persuasion success grants XP, but kills are worth more and they don't usually stack together anymore.)
Is it because you’re worried about dialogue / persuasion rolls? If you pick up Enhance Ability, you can get advantage on any ability check, including Charisma-based checks that are used in dialogue. If you get the “Favorable Beginnings” bonus from the Illithid skill tree, it will give you another +2. And they can use Guidance, which will also help. It’s certainly not as foolproof as having a full Charisma character ace-ing every dialogue check with like a +17 bonus, but tbh I literally only play Druid in BG3 and I haven’t had too many issues. Enhance Ability + Guidance helps take a bit of the edge off. Though, it won’t help when it comes to things like playing instruments.
I love your guide and they are very usefull, but i get lost pretty easily in the amount of items in this game, so it would be great if you could include detailed gearing section in your guides (maybe breakpoint in acts 1/2/3, or notable good items to get through the story)
How about if you wanted to stay out of shapeshift and be a caster a bit more? Let's say, for example, you use your concentration spell on sleet storm first turn. What other non-concentration spells would you be using most to help finish a fight?
Hey bro can you make a guide on nteractions and ways to use that to boost a force/ice/lightining team comp. Loving all of your guides ive listened so far
I wonder then if for Owlbear form the best common elixir isn't Peerless Focus; advantage on Concentration saves, advantage on saving throws against Charmed, and immunity to Sleep.
That definitely can work! I'd probably stick with Battlemage's Power or Bloodlust most of the time, but that's a very good use for Peerless Focus as well
Was looking for an item guide for wild shape. Sadly, still doesn’t get what rules for applying item effects work or not. For example, i WS into sabertooth, get healed at started of my turn. Can i get healed to max with amulet and get blessed from a ring and so on?
No gear works in wild shape, except gear that specifically mentions it like the Armor of Moonbasking, or bonuses while 'shapeshifting' such as the Ring of Shapeshifting. Otherwise, you just want to build for whenever you get knocked into human form, and or equip items that have spells with extended effects like the Agathys robes. On-heal bonus items have no effect, best to put that on a different character.
It's great, because you can spend your gold on equipping other characters :) And the bless on heal still works as long as another character heals with that ring
@@Excalibaard buying items is never the issue tho. Plus i‘ve never really struggled in equipping my team. It‘s really not that great for druids, cause it is turning off one of mechanics in game to develop and progress your character
My current honor mode team is 3 druids and a cleric... Tav (8 circle of land, 4 life cleric hafling) Jaheira (land 6, battle master 6), Helsin (12 moon), shadowheart (trickery cleric 12) Making short work of almost every encounter. I dont agree with moon being better than land at melee. They are both about the same. My land druid with ironwood club and ironwood shield and shileghli you hit like a truck. And you have great AOE control spells.
I've been thinking about a build like this. My thought was to go for 2 in bard as a multi class. That way you can get persuasion proficiency, song of rest and I believe a 6th level spell slot. Since bard and druid are full casters, that should combine for a 6th level slot, right?
I don't understand spider form! It's only 14 AC and not a lot of Hit Points. 20 HP is not that much for a combat entity.. At level 3 all my characters are over 20HP, with a Sorc, a Rogue, a Cleric and a Druid (23, 24, 24 and 24 respectively). And they are all over 14 AC. The bear has 30HP but then her AC is an abysmal 12! It has a 19 STR which might be the only saving grace, when paired with Tarvern Browler, but that is for level 4 and over. Back to the Spider, she is low AC, low HP and can't hit that well with her low STR of 14. So again... what am I missing?
web. you use spider for web. then the bite does decent damage (and has a chance of inflicting the poison condition which is pretty good low levels). also, low level dnd/ bg3. Everything is more of a glass cannon, so the spider being so with decent cc options makes it good.
Currently playing a BG3 Moon Druid at my local internet cafe. I am up to 4th level spells in act 2. I actually started my character as a level 1 Draconic Soul Sorcerer, Ice. It gets the bonuses you mentioned in video. Plus, all Wildshapes with 13 or lower A.C. gain a bonus +1. And, the biggest bonus is the extra spells. Armor of agathys, for prebattle backlash armor. Disguise Self for always active Shapeshifters Boon. And then some cantrips for extra options.
Question: If you are most of the time shape shifted why do you need constitution on you druid? Doesn't the animal have its own value so it's more or less wasted? Your could go 16 charisma and make him your Face without much backlash. What do I miss here?
I tag companions in and out for story reasons when I play solo. Took 3 Druids including my PC for the Steal Watch fight and Jaheiras quest. They were menaces. I'd love to do an all Druid honor mode co op playthrough
@@comebackqing8452 yea I've been wanting to assemble an all druid honor run. Barbarian, Warlock... but what other multiclass options for an optimal team? Cleric... maybe Monk too?
I think in terms of strength the tier list that makes the most sense is spore -> land -> moon. The problem I have with moon druid is that pure druid caster is just kinda stronger than anything moon druid gets. Moon gets competitive single target damage relative to pure caster all the way out at level 10 with TB (which doesnt work on HM) and thats about it, and whats worse is that while wildshaped you lose out on all your powerful spells, and when not wildshaped you basically dont have a subclass. I wish they implemented dnds recasting while wildshaping, it'd help them a lot. I think spore druid is the real pick for a melee caster hybrid here, both from the perspective of the player level 4 war cleric dip allowing for things like force conduit stacking, actually benefiting from high AC, having the regenerating shield, sanctuary moonbeam shenanigans, and regenerating temphp on top of summons to absorb even more actions from the enemy. That being said I totally agree that all three are very strong and unique in gameplay style
I'm unlikely to ever take down a video unless it has major technical issues (or I guess if I accidentally say something really inappropriate in it without noticing, though hopefully that won't happen)! It's bad for your channel to unlist popular videos, and even if some things have changed, those videos still have plenty of good info - plus people might just want to watch both versions to see what's changed.
17:25 I thought Larian changed it so wildshapes didn't benefit from Taven Brawler in honor mode. Did they revert that change? If not then that's basically a dead feat.
@@AryOnYT I know in patch 4 (maybe) they let Wildshapes benefit from Tavern Brawler in TACTICIAN, but when honor mode was added in the next update, I remember they reverted the change SPECIFICALLY Honor mode. I'm sure this build works great in tactician and below, but does this definitely work in honor?
Some of the traps in Honor mode can kill you especially if you don't separate your party during exploration like I used to not. The trap in Shar Trial nearly killed me

Are you going to be doing a new Land Druid then?
is it fine if you create your own character?
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the support! I really appreciate it :D
@@Cephalopocalypse you helped me so much with your build guides as a person new to this universe.
Water one really the best just cuz of wet? The air one can stun insanely powerful 3x a turn and earth unarmed for damage!
Does Armor of Agathas work in wild shape?
Are you living in Menzoberranzan by any chance? :)
APPARENTLY
How the hell is this example character able to hold 500 lbs in inventory?
strength potion!
What do I miss here?
video to old for an answer I guess.
if i take one level dip in sorcerer or cleric, does it matter in which order I take it? can I go 11-1 or does it have to be 1-11?
Depends if you want con saving or wis saving proficiency.
hell yeah
How about an all druid party? 4 characters w WS seems like it would be a menace.
Only thing that might be a challenge is picking locks but iirc slight of hand might be a background skill.
@@kdavipergloves you can get in act 1 that give advantage on all slight of hand checks. This plus guidance you can easily get most locks.
@@garakjr honestly druid gives you everything you don't NEED to multiclass
Will you unlist the outdated videos?
I'm unlikely to ever take down a video unless it has major technical issues (or I guess if I accidentally say something really inappropriate in it without noticing, though hopefully that won't happen)! It's bad for your channel to unlist popular videos, and even if some things have changed, those videos still have plenty of good info - plus people might just want to watch both versions to see what's changed.
I like to respec Jaheira to Ranger.
Can you cast warding flare reaction in wild shape?
Sadly no - no reactions work in wildshape (except AoOs and any others granted by the forms themselves)

Thanks
great build but I think it'd be better if we had true strike
Hope nothing crazy changes again in Patch 7 coming out soon
Haha, we'll see!
What sbout speak with animals
17:25 I thought Larian changed it so wildshapes didn't benefit from Taven Brawler in honor mode. Did they revert that change? If not then that's basically a dead feat.
It's the other way around, they changed it so that Wild shape did gain a benefit from it
@@AryOnYT I know in patch 4 (maybe) they let Wildshapes benefit from Tavern Brawler in TACTICIAN, but when honor mode was added in the next update, I remember they reverted the change SPECIFICALLY Honor mode. I'm sure this build works great in tactician and below, but does this definitely work in honor?
@@loganmacosko5908it benefits from the accuracy buff only in honor mode. Not the extra damage
TANKKKS
Does Tavern Brawler work on shape-shifting forms in Honor Mode or is it just Tactician and below?
Moon driud is dreat but You dont have HASTE 😞
I love your guides but 9 minutes and 27 seconds to say this is a moon druid build...
Ability improvement Wisdom > Alert?
Finding traps is kinda meh. Its more about rp / annoyance but otherwise there are so many healing pots that hp out of combat doesnt really matter.
Some of the traps in Honor mode can kill you especially if you don't separate your party during exploration like I used to not. The trap in Shar Trial nearly killed me
40 minutes XD
8mins and hes still on level one. Injust know this guys irl conversations go “uhhuh, yeah, that wild, mmm, thats wild.”
Hey man, good news! You can click to any part of the video you want, and the total runtime is listed right on it! I know that can be a little confusing for some people - glad I could help you out!
Thanks!
