Here is the Pinned Comment: The full series is out now! Act 2 Video can be found here: ruclips.net/video/6UBfg_xxLiQ/видео.html Act 3 Video can be found here: ruclips.net/video/uOgiMiSsDMM/видео.html Info on what tricks/exploits are still working can be found below. Update: knocking out vendors no longer gives ALL of there unique items (but it does give a few). Update: Due to a balance change (or possibly bug) here is a new method to get "Pest Control" achievement. 1. Use Shovel in his Invisible form (or other invisible companions) to destroy the two clusters of eggs that are furthest from the Matriarch while outside of combat, BEFORE engaging the Phase Spider Matriarch Directly. This includes the cluster of eggs on the bottom level, as well as the cluster on the norther plateau, which can be reached by shovel by climbing down the vines to the south, then by moving them around the chasm to the north and climbing the cragged rock. The Matriarch and other spiders must be far enough away for Shovel to destroy the eggs without being detected. The final cluster of eggs is more difficult to destroy without alerting the Matriarch. What I've found to work is use Karlach to gain surprise on the Matriarch with a flurry of blows. Then use her action to throw a Alchemist Fire on the final cluster of eggs. If any remain unbroken, another party member can use a firebolt, magic missile, or other ranged attack to destroy them. Sometimes the spider near the bottom cluster of eggs won't move away from them. In that case, you'll need to have another party member throw a second alchemist fire on that cluster while the Matriarch and other spiders are still surprised. The Matriarch will no longer die from falling in the chasm. However, major damage can be dealt by shooting out the web bridges from beneath the Matriarch, which will cause it to take fall damage. You can also make use of Potions of speed on Karlach and Lae’zel to help them kill the Matriarch faster. As of 04/06/24 (Patch 6) all of the following exploits/tricks still work: - How to get Silver Sword of the Astral Plane early/in Act 1. (This still works to get the sword, but now seems to trigger an unavoidable combat.) I would send in just one character (the hireling) to get the sword to drop. I would then have a character with high initiative (alert feat, high dexterity, etc.) run and grab the sword, then run back/away and flee combat. The hostile Githyanki can be dealt with fairly easily upon reaching level 5 and it shouldn't negatively impact any questline. The game may determine that Voss holds a crossbow instead of his greatsword. If that happens, I do not currently know of any way to get the Silver Sword to drop and it may not be obtainable. As of 04/06/24 (Patch 6) the following still work as shown in the video: - How to get all rewards from Kagha Encounter (Broodmother’s Revenge, Pale Oak, and Faithwarden Title). - How to get Auntie Ethel’s Hair & still defeat her/ save everyone that can be saved. (If you have to pick one, probably go with the Hair!) - How to give Noblestalk Mushroom to BOTH Shadowheart AND Derryth. (If you have to pick one, Derryth provides more tangible/mechanical benefits, once you get to Act 3.)
Ungrouping companions, or sending them to camp no longer avoids their approval or disapproval, no matter how far away they are, they'll, somehow, know what you are doing, and you can see their responses to your actions.
Great update re patch 5. Concerning Dark Urge: I've restarted a tactician playthrough and can confirm that Alfira can still be knocked out to save her (immediately prior to rest 3 or 4), and will subsequently show up in act 2 (Last Light). Can update anyone interested concerning the "no one left behind" achievement. Cant wait to find out how you tackle House of Hope (nuke them, maybe?). Keep it up!
@@MartinRiber recording voiceover for part 2. Then the lengthy process of editing it all together. Hoping to get done with it by Friday morning. Then on to Act 3!
I do not think that the silver sword exploit works consistently post-Patch 5. Voss is almost always equipped with the crossbow instead of the silver sword. EDIT: Confirmed with various Reddit posts it is apparently random what weapon he spawns in with during the cutscene, reloaded 50+ times to always have the cutscene with him with the the crossbow equipped. The only solution to this is to throw the iron flask and spawn the beholder next to him (from the high ground where the tiefling was) to force him to switch, then do the disarm method in the video. I only sent in Karlach and the hireling (both invisible, could only splash the potion on 2/4 characters). I then disarmed with the hireling and had Karlach steal the sword. Karlach was detected but I used a scroll of blink and step of the wind jumps to disengage back to the fast travel point. Hireline died but resurrected her via Withers for 200 gold.
The strict structure and sheer amount of work in this series is simply outstanding. I cannot understand why your pieces are not favoured by the algorithm because, as I hope you are aware of, they stand head and shoulders above any other similar content for BG3. Your build tips alone are better, more relevant and more comprehensive than any other I've seen - and to be honest, I've seen quite a lot of them. For others new to the channel I most highly recommend the Elden Ring series, even if you have no intention of playing the game - it's that good. Looking forward with great anticipation for act 2, and finally: thank you very much for sharing your deep understanding of this genre-defining game.
It's 3 and a half hours, im not saying that's a bad thing, im not dissing or hating in any way, im just saying that length no matter what it's about is always unfavorable in the algorithm
@@rhys.hushon I actually started this series with smaller parts (around 20-35 min) and they weren’t doing too well. This 1 part/act in a longer format is actually doing a lot better!
YES!! new to the game and game style and i felt so proud of myself when i killed all the goblin leaders and rescued halsin before heading to the underdark, only to realize i missed almost all of the side quests AND so so so many opportunities to gain approval/romance characters. after watching this, i realized just how much i was doing wrong. makes me upset when i see gamers who make fun of people for watching these kinds of video tutorials, but they are an absolute LIFESAVER!
Same 😂 i played my way and i ended up level 8 at act 3 when i should be level 8 after the first map of act 1 I missed a lot of content without realising it
This guide is incredible. Wanted so badly to enjoy this game but was constantly overwhelmed by it. This is the only guide that doesn’t treat you like a D&D master to begin with, but instead takes everything one step at a time so that you’re a master by the end. Can’t endorse the effort and skills of this guy enough. He even answered my commented question from months later!
I too wanted so very much to like this game but good God. The review here is the most boring god-awful 10 steps just to do one thing ever. What a poorly designed game. Thank God this isn't how real dungeons and dragons is played because this is trash.
I've been playing D&D since 1st edition circa 1983-1984, somewhere around there, and to be honest, this game can feel overwhelming even for me. And I've been on both sides of the DM screen. Now, full disclosure, I started having problems with changes to the game made between 3rd and 4th edition, and by the time 5th rolled out, I refused to play anything past 3rd. So, it's not surprising I guess that I'm a bit stumped.
I've been playing D&D since it was released, and video games since they became a thing, and this is hands down the best Tutorial / Walkthrough I've ever seen. If you're not already, you'd make a formidable DM! Thank you for all your work in putting this Walkthrough together! I'm sure I'll be referencing it for a long time to come.
Thanks for the kind words and super generous donation Drunemeton!! I've done a little bit of DMing but definitely still learning. I am glad to hear the guide series has been helpful and wish you all the best. I am looking forward to Dragon's Dogma 2, hope to see you around for when that launches later this month!
@@ItsShatter I had a truly magical BG3 moment when my Tav was talking to Gut and I separated Astarion from the group and snuck into her chamber. SPOILER ALERT! He then took out the guard and robbed the place. He then continued to explore and found the ladder down to the temple! I felt sooo sneaky! But once there completely missed the radiant armor that your walkthrough showed! Grrr…. So after work today I’m going back for it.
Well, I don't disagree with you that this is a great tutorial. I won't be using it because I'll be playing real d&d which has nothing to do with this piece of crap video game. Just 2 minutes into this tutorial and I realized the game is absolutely garbage. And the herd mentality of making it out to be the greatest game ever is mind-boggling
Just wanted to say this guide has been a true life saver for me and my wife. This is the first video game she has taken a liking to ever and it’s my first turn based style so it’s quite a steep learning curve for me much less me trying to teach her. Absolutely appreciate the detail and please keep it going!
@@mosleyaquatics6487 Wow you scored!!! My x stomped on my PS controller because I didn't give her enough attention. It's hard for me to find a woman that doesn't mind me gaming and your wife actually plays with you.
I know some people really enjoy going blind into a videogame and im one of them, but after "finishing" act one completely on my own i really felt like i missed alot. So i paused my own playthrough and decided to follow along with a guide for a second playthrough and try and get "everything" and WOW, i am SO happy i found your guide! Its perfect and im lovin' it, and so completely different from the way i played through act one the first time. Thank you!
@@superbeachboy358 I am working on my first play-through (I know I’m late to the party) and just finished Act one. I’m a completionist, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The number of things I missed and found out about in this guide was astounding. So, I set about working on the things I missed. 80 hours later.. I’m finally heading into Act 2. It’s unreal how much they packed into this game.
Anyone who wants the early act 1 silver sword of astral plane after patch 5. See below for extra guidance: 1) Do the same invisibility/blessing etc. setup shown except I just went with the hireling and Karlach. 2) Have karlach hide a good distance away (on those big rock steps nearby is good) and then do the disarming attack on Voss with your hireling until he drops it. 3) At this point your hireling will just die from the fight so don’t worry. 4) Switch to karlach who shouldn’t have been noticed and sneak while they are not looking to steal the sword, as soon as you steal go turn based immediately and then dash to safety without triggering any fight. 4) Your dead hireling will be stuck in your party, to fix it at camp just have withers revive or entrust the body with him, then carry on. Shatter happy new year and thanks for the guide i look forward to the next acts.
You might want to add to your post if you know about it about what to do if Kith'rak is holding his crossbow instead of the silver sword. Very annoying.
Thank you! This was very helpful, for me I didn’t need anyone other than the hireling, once he dropped it, I stole it off the ground, transferred it from the hirelings inventory to my inventory, went to camp and did step 4. Im on console btw
Played through your Elden ring series twice and I was so happy to see you made a BG3 equivalent, it won’t be long before you completely blow up, incredible content 🐐
Ive watching plenty of 'short' videos about the basics of the game, and they were all really complicated. Didnt expect the 3+ hours video to be more useful 😅 thank you!!
This is for anyone not getting the Arka grieving scene after the goblin fight in front the emerald grove gate. Don't activate the fast travel sigil before going into the emerald grove as activating it will cause Arka to travel somewhere else and you'll miss the grieving scene in this guide.
On Ps5, I restarted so many times because Arka wasn't showing up, but the Sigil was being automatically added to my map after the fight with the goblins at the gate. I even tried moving my entire party to the left. Instead, as soon as they opened the gates, I ran in as fast as I could. I noticed in an earlier attempt, it looked like Arka was walking behind Zevlor. That was my first and only successful attempt at getting her scene. I ignored looting, going to the sigil until after.
I had been looking for something exactly like this video and I never found anything remotely as helpful, I hate missing anything in a game as big as this and this video helped so much.
I simply would not have gotten into Baldur’s Gate 3 if it weren’t for this guide, man. I bought the game, did the tutorial, killed Gale with a healing potion by throwing it at him square in the jaw THINKING that was how I could heal him and didn’t pick the game back up. Then like 2 months later I found these. Tysm, mate. I love this game to death.
OMG I've been looking for a guide like this for days! Every other guide goes through a few achievements, sounds like its in play order - THEN at the end they're like "BTW, IN ACT 1, DO THIS" like wtf? Best guide!
Beat the entire game now going back using this guide, thanks for the effort you put into this. The only thorough vid I’ve found so far related to this topic.
3:31:12 - I see what you did with that transition. I heard the 8-bit noises and everything. Thank you for this video, It's given me some great structure. I played all the way to Act III but had to take a rest, a year passed and now I'm trying again. Act 1 is such varied beast but fantastic content, though it is nice to minimise time in the Underdark. You don't know how relived I am to see the Act 2 video is less than half the time of this video. 25 hours to get through Act 1.. on my OG playthrough I was over 50 hours but I want to smash Act II fast so you video will help greatly. Thank you again.
Longrest 1, shadowheart comes first because Astarion will say to leave him alone otherwise 51:30 Join the task to steal the idol, once you've convinced Kagha to stop the ritual, stealing the idol doesn't lead to the tieflings being attacked. Though you still need to cast fog cloud or darkness on it. If caught, you can talk your way out. Giving the idol to Mol will give you the Ring of Protection which has +1AC
Literally💀 I p*ssed off Aunty Ethel before buying anything from her & hardly talked to any of the Tieflings before rescuing Halsin 🤣🤣😳… might have to start again🤣
Me and the wife have literally almost killed all companions, not even on purpose. It’s been pure chaos and we haven’t gotten out of act 1. We tried so hard to be good people but it’s so easy to slip up lol
As a new player to BG3 (2nd play through), im finding the game very overwhelming, yet exciting, and want to discover everything there is. This is such a great video to help me experience this game in full potential, and the achievements are a bonus too. Many thanks!
Im so happy with this guide! I was so confused that i never finished the playthrough and now i have the confidence! Job well done! You covered everything! Thank you!
Wow! I’m freakin impressed with your dedication to this guide. When I came across this, I fully expected it to be just gameplay with time stamps lol. In the first 10 mins I’ve alrdy learned 3 major features on controller I had no clue about after 30hrs. Kudos to you sir ❤
Hey man. Amazing guide. Thank you for all your hard work. Just one note about the Asterion bite scene. I followed along doing everything, but there was one point when at camp, I spoke to Asterion, and he told me about being a vampire. I think this conversation voids the biting scene. I had been doing what you said (saving at the beginning of every new day), and reverted back to the start of day 3. Didn't do anything else other than long rest, and the scene came up the next long rest. Just thought I'd mention it in case anybody else hasn't got the scene. Thanks again for the amazing work. Can't wait for act 2.
3:38:03 If you don't get long rest triggered upon travelling to Grymforge. Take long rest whilst still in the Creche, once rested then fast travel to Grymforge and you should automatically trigger another long rest and the interaction with Kith'rak Voss.
Something I found today completely by chance; If you go to the Druid’s grove, head to the makeshift prison and jump one more platform down from the secret exit. Following the ledge, you should come across a pouch with an Arrow of Humanoid Slaying and an Arrow of Arcane Interface, as well as some silver. You can also get to the pouch by jumping through the hole in the roof where the paralyzed tiefling is.
I have over 6 years of DMing experience and you explain the larger mechanics of the TTRPG system better and more concisely than I ever have to new players and I mean that in the best way I’ve gotten so many of my friends behind BG3 through this guide
These guides are life saver, I’m always paranoid about missing stuff when i play games like these and these honestly had been a god send!! Thank you thank you
Great work, this video should be considered the official guide to BG III. 👍 In my first gameplay as The Dark Urge (Bhaalspawn) 😈, even after 180 hours, I missed many things of the game. Now with this walkthrough, even playing as a Bard, and some things have changed due to Larian updates, it's been fantastic. Thanks for sharing and let's move on to Act 2... Greetings from Brazil. 😁
A quick note about the Auntie Ethel fight: The only way I could get Shadowheart far enough away to not get stuck in the conversation is to not have her in combat to begin with. The party does enough damage without the initial guiding bolt do make her bargain and then cast guiding bolt after gaining the hair. I hope this helps people who are stuck. I had to use an autosave right before descending to the bottom to get it right. PS: My characters didn't hit lvl 5 until after the fight.
After MONTHS of looking for a walkthrough + trophy run with feedback AND as a bonus my favorite class sorcerer ❤ FINALLY I have found the ULTIMATE guide for BG3, thank you so much for the effort you put in this!
for Merkon I found that casting Sanctuary on him helps a lot. he can't be targeted while its on him because he will never attack so it doesn't end early.
Fantastic work! Patch 6, Balanced difficulty has me at 34 hrs to complete. Differences with current patch: -Cant knock out vendors and steal all the things you sold them. So money will not be as abundant. -Couldnt get Asterion to bite me like in the guide. Loaded save from day 3(after getting withers), hit long rest and got it. Thanks to another comment for that. -Couldnt get Voss to visit at the end. Got it from another comment, long rest inside creche, exit creche via walking, then fast travel to grymforge and he showed up. -for spider achievement, I had to use karlach and a ranged weapon to destroy eggs as sneaking wasn't working like your run. Looking forward to completing the guide, supporting along the way. Hopefully patch 7 doesn't break anything.
Thank you for the kind words and donation Daniel! And also thank you so much for providing useful information in your comment! I am sure that will come in handy for a lot of people watching. Hope you have a great rest of your week and weekend!
To save some people some trouble the knocking out the merchants has been patched. I also think knocking them out no longer makes them upset with just the person who attacked but because it showed my whole party as losing attitude so i ended up going back on my previous save and smipping it all together
Amazing guide. Seriously helped me through my first and second playthrough. Though three things I found during both playthroughs in Act 1 during the Chapel Ruins section I found that if anyone in your party can perceive it there is a button on one of the pillars near the sarcophagi that when used will deactivate the traps and that if you loot the Entumed before opening the area where you would find Withers it besicly defanges them, and limits them to only magic. Also if you already have a scroll of Misty Step then when you leave the Myconid colony to save Baelen you could just do a Strength saving throw to get it to him. With him far from there before I had Karlach -as a monk- try for the Noblestalk it was a lot less stressful and made it easer to get to it.
so i followed this guide from start to finish (all 3 Acts), and he got everything but 3 unique items. Act 1: the Club of Hill Giants strength in The Arcane Tower on the floor with Bernard the robot Act 2: the Shadow Blade Ring at camp after you find Arabella's parents Act 3: Duke Ravengards sword in the underwater throne allows you to get the maximum Charisma in the game [past 22 if you do everything right]
For anyone trying to get the legendary silver sword in act 1 (as of 4/14/24) you can still get the hireling, but have only the hireling go and get the sword to drop. Once the sword drops, pick it up as the hireling and move it to your inventory. The hireling will die but you will be fine if everyone else is sneaking a good distance away
Your guide is amazing, thank you so much! It’s so impressively organized, thorough, and astoundingly spoiler-free. I’ve watched this series nonstop for the past month as I followed it through my first two playthroughs to get 53/54 achievements (ignore the fact that I can’t make it past the first encounter on honour mode). Keep up the great work!
Hi Rainie, thank you so much for the kind words and generous donation! Honour mode is very tough and the fact that there is a lot based on chance makes it very difficult to make a full-proof guide for. I believe if you stick at it and play cautiously (always have an out for at least one of your party members), that you can do it! Best of luck and thank you again!
I'm 6 minutes into your video and... wow you should be a teacher or something. I've beat the game on tactician and I am now running an honor mode playthrough. Yet, the information you give is so concise I learn something every few paragraphs. Great video!
That's great to hear! However, be very careful with the Phase Spider Matriarch and Owlbear bosses. It might be better off to negotiate with the Owlbear/use survival or speak with animals + charisma and then take a long rest, that will accomplish the same thing as defeating it in combat. For the Phase Spider Matriarch, you might be able to take it on at level 4. Maybe level 3 if EVERYTHING goes right and you deal a lot of fall damage by burning the web bridges beneath it (it cannot be knocked into the chasm anymore). Also, you can always bail from the phase spider fight if its going poorly by casting featherfall on the group and then jumping into the chasm yourself.
37:20 I could be missing something, but I'm pretty sure this exploit has been patched out of the game by now. I made a few attempts and successfully knocked this shopkeeper out, but I found that his available inventory upon defeat was far smaller than what was seen in this video, with only about 5 items available to loot even after I sold all my junk. It also seems the shopkeeper's attitude towards the entire party was soured, not just the first person to attack. It may be worth updating the description of this vid so players know I gotta echo the sentiment of other commenters, this guide is incredible. I'll probably return and comment again if i find anything else that is outdated
I've never wanted to bludgeon a merchant and steal his stock - that would be rude. I'd sooner sell them rotten food and clothing (which they, funnily enough, offer a flat rate for - recycling?) if I'm that desperate, which I usually am. But I much prefer to pickpocket their stuff and run away before anyone loses any attitude points. The easiest merchants to do this with are mostly in Act 3, notably, Stylin' Horst, the halfling in the Stormshor Tabernacle, the girl running the Bibliophile, the mute Baahlist near the Undercity Ruins, and Bonecloak's Apothecary. Although I've never tried the Bard performance trick for merchants that are in highly populated areas, I'm certainly going to now. Although I'd be surprised if anyone could even hear a flute near Sorcerous Sundries. I have absolutely no problem with Astarion using the mute Baahlist as his happy farm.
As someone who found your channel through your ER guides, I was beyond excited to see you have BG3 guides too since I just started playing. Thanks for the guides and the time you put into them!
Mate I’ve got to say this series is just class I’ve always wondered just how much content and different methods of completing a quest there is so thanks so much man. Also instructions were always clear to u do a good job bro 🙌
What a great guide. Honestly, i think at 17 hours in a may just start over because i had no idea and mostly still don't know what I'm doing. I am constantly learning new mechanics or finding what i missed out on. Character leveling is dreadful and slow, and the leveling process is a bit stressful as i dont know or understand the importance of most new skills, talent, or perks. This guide is SO helpful, i just wished id seen it earlier.
This is, by far, the best guide there is to any single video game ever made. Thanks to you, I was able to full explore and, more important, understand this amazing game. This is simply an incredible acomplishment. I'll go and use the second part of this guide, looking forward to it!! And, of course, you have now a new subscriber😊
Many heartfelt thanks for your outstanding guide and huge respect for the work behind it - especially for people with limited time but joy and interest in BG3, it is extremely useful. If I may ask the following questions (I have read the other comments, but haven't found any answers yet): Is there any reason not to use Balanced as the difficulty level, instead of starting with Tactican, if several playthroughs are necessary anyway, other than not getting that one achievement in this playthrough? 1.) What should I pay attention to if my main character is a Paladin? My party mainly includes Astarion, Shadowheart, and Gale. I would like to cover the stories of the others as much as possible, but I'm not sure how to proceed without having to play mainly with other companions to follow your guide. What should I consider for this? 2.) I've seen in many guides that traders are knocked out, but I wonder if there's any disadvantage to extinguishing the light sources around the traders and just stealing everything relevant with Astarion and then teleporting away to a waypoint, so as not to get caught? This works multiple times in the same day without resting. 3.) I noticed that you optimize resting very much and only take a full rest when absolutely necessary. This is probably maximally efficient/effective for strong players, but is there any disadvantage to being more generous and resting more often? You have enough camp supplies. Does this prevent certain achievements? I would be incredibly grateful for answers, as I fear I might realize too late that I have made a mistake. For 2024, I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart!
for long rests you could long rest after every fight and still have more to spare, I just finished act 1 in my run with 1500+ supplies. just make sure you're constantly checking every crate for bottles and what not because they add up. long resting does make time pass in game but there's only 1 part of the story I've seen where you can miss it by resting.
I've not completed a playthrough with Paladin as my main character, but as far as I know this might work out for you: 1) Concerning companions: IS seems to prioritize character approval for companions, and although it is possible to maximize somewhat more - all of the advice in this video is sound. Astarion will not approve of many actions for a good playthrough, and in fact IS mainly brought him along for parts of the goblin camp (and introduction to Last Light in Act 2). Don't worry: you'll make good with Astarion during act 3. If you want tips on how to make Shadowhart, Astarion and Gale both tactician-powered and somewhat lore friendly, just ask. 2) For my own part, knocking out traders breaks immersion somewhat - so I never do that. Luckily I seldom find myself being short on gold, even in honor mode. Hopefully someone else might answer this one for you. 3) I think IS needs to limit long rests because the number of Soul Coins needed for buffing Karlack is somewhat limited. Since you play without her in the party this restraint do not apply. As far as I know there are no achievements affected by resting to often (although some quests are time limited - such as "rescuing" Nere in Grymforge and defeating Mystic Carrion in act 3). Good gaming. Paladin is for sure my main for playthrough 4 😀
Obsessed with this video guide. It's helped me realize that there's SO many more places to go in Act 1. I did half of what's in this video and this video has helped me piece together the differences by doing things in different order. Thank you for this video!!
Was able to bypass killing masks and Ethel summoning adds even with an "unideal" comp: Had Wyll, Astarion, Lae'zel, and Druid Tav. Turn 1: Astarion throws Water at cage, stopping ticking clock. Then, basically just overwhelmed her with status to skip the summoning turn: Hunger of Hadar, Menacing/Trip attacks, Moonbeam. Before her next turn had plenty of damage even unoptimized with Astarion double hand crossbow peppering her, Moonbeam/Hadar guaranteed damage, and Laezel Titanstring bow a few times. Tactician not Honor so take that with a grain of salt. No speed elixir, No hill giant strength - perfectly fine choices but I just want to emphasize how much flexibility this game gives you even 8 months after this video was initially posted. Hope it can give someone some ideas - thanks OP for the amazing guide that's dictated basically my whole path for Act 1 even if I've done totally different things for fights.
Aweseome video, love it, thanks alot. Maybe worth mentioning Spider Matriarch pushing death is only patched out on tactical difficulty and higher. So for someone who doesnt enjoy the fight, turning down the difficulty just for this action might be worth it.
2:43:34 If you have near to you the King mushroom (the companion) they will attack you no matter what. Make him go away by controlling it and talk to the guy
I’m pretty new to this game but I did notice if you use an animal speaking potion (you can get from Aaron) and talk to the Wolf named Silver and let him smell you, you’ll get approval from both gale and shadowheart. Pretty cool imo
Run an animal speaking potion daily and talk to as many as possible. I got a unique conversation with an ox at Wakeens rest. Also when talking to Halsin (in his bear form) while caged he will praise you for being crazy and nature loving for talking to and releasing a bear.
I'm near the end of my first playthrough of bg3 and i am so captivated by the game that i already think about my second playthrough. this time i intend to go for %100 and this is literally the best guide on the internet
Amazing guide, very detailed and thorough perfect for the beginner. Regarding Saza, I’m sure everyone knows after patch five you can recruit Minthara using non lethal attacks But you can also knock out Saza at the goblin camp after she turns hostile as well and she will also be in moonrise Towers enabling you to get the achievement. You get more experience from clearing the camp than defending the Grove and you don’t put the no one left behind achievement at risk because of a tiefling dying during the raid
Interesting.. I would be worried that this might be changed in a patch at some point. I also think you might need to knock her out and then make sure to finish the camp while everyone is still “temporarily hostile” for it to work- but if it worked for you then that’s great!
I have watched your elden ring guide twice over now and it has been incredible, was a little overwhelmed going into this game after a while but was relieved when I saw your guide. Thanks for the great work!
shatter your straight up killing it! I think I did maybe a quarter of this on my first place through and not nearly as well. I’m a little off script but I’m having a blast
I gave up on baldurs gate when it came out because I felt so overwhelmed and having never played D&D before made me not get all that invested in the story. This may get me back to playing again and hopefully beating it. Thanks.
Playing the story 3 times one with my friends one on my own and one with all achievements I appreciate this video BG3 will have to wait Tuesday when I’m off this took me 4 days to complete guys make sure u do your chores 😂😂
@@ItsShatter The cool thing is this can be a step by step type video OR a checklist video. I am using it as a checklist to make sure I dont miss anything in act 1 but, I can see it being a great guide to follow along with as well. Again, appreciate the content. Will definitely look more into your vids after this one!
Well, I thought out the video. I just wnst people to know you won't ever lose shadowheart at the beginning. I rolled a nat 1, and it switched to a nat 20 and passed me. This guy is informative, though.
Love the content. The issue I can't seem solve is the swamp situation (Auntie Ethel) - the Mephits ALL join combat no matter how I kill that first one. How did you avoid aggroing the whole place? EDIT: I see you actually started with only the Sorc on the field! I did the same, sniped the first guy on my own and it didn't trigger the rest. Was able to port everybody back in after that!
As a lifetime gamer and a 2x war veteran with PTSD, this game has been HUGE for me.This is HANDS DOWN THEE BEST game walkthrough series ever created! GOATED!!🫡🙏🏾👏🏾🤯🤩. Made one of the best games I have ever played 10x more amazing to experience. Bravo! Your hard work and dedication to this is appreciated bruv!
Thank you so much for the generous donation J Reid and for so much more than that. Hopefully one day I can buy you a beer! Cheers friend and thanks again for watching.
You do a wonderful job explaining and showing how to really enjoy this game. I have gone through 1 playthrough so far and now want to discover everything I missed. I'm glad you don't spoil too much in dialog, so we can still enjoy the scene. You have also helped me understand more in how to use the mechanics in the game to my advantage. Thanks for the hard work!
I am already at my 3rd run of the game and am not learning much from the video. I just like to listen to it driving with the soothing voice and chill music in the background.
Incredible guide. Played through act 1 three times before using this guide and I was surprised at the amount of things I still hadn't found. Just at 40 hrs now and leaving this guide to go to the act 2 one. Thank you!
FOR THOSE WITH CARAVAN STRONGBOX LOOTING ISSUES FROM ZARYS I see several comments that after knocking out Zarys, the chest isnt on her. I had the same issue but may have found a solution. During the dialouge with Zarys where you give her the chest, at the time, the chest was at my camp. I went back to the previous save file, went to the camp, and retrieved the chest. Then I exited the camp and got in back into the Zhentarium Hideout. I dropped it on the ground, picked it back up, and had it in my main characters inventory. From this point on, I continued to follow the steps in the video but made deliberate saves along the way and knocked her out each time to make sure that the chest was still there...and it was. It appears the chest bugs out if you give it to her directly from your camp where the game knows you have it but its not actually in your personal inventory. ALSO... You dont need to go through the complexities of knocking all the bandits. All I did was activate turnbased mode, use Kalach to knock out Zarys, exit turnbased mode, and fast travel anywhere. You do need to be quick, but they won't aggro you when you come back. If you want to clear them all in this manner, it will work. The floor is covered in oil so boom can happen, and this method helps but taking them out is not necessary as after knocking out Zarys, all items are lootable without being related to stealing. This is especially unnecessary since the vendor exploit shown near the beginning of the video, no longer works but will be required if you are going to free Rugan and want it to be easy.
Hey there, sorry for not getting to this sooner. I don’t think she is proficient with it, but for some reason when she throws it it still deals max/ a lot of damage. Doesn’t work well as a melee weapon though. Thank you for the donation, hopefully this answers your question and let me know if you need anything else!
Throw is considered an unarmed attack for some reason so, being proficient with fists :), she shouldn't have problems throwing the pike. If you try and STAB someone with the pike, then you will have a much worse time.
Patched brother. You can switch the difficulty to the lowest for that fight and push her again, works in the lowest difficulty . Then simply switch difficulty again once done.
It got patched for Tactician sadly. To get the achievement, you can use someone in the party and have them stealthily shoot the matriarch eggs before fighting her. You’ll still have to fight her but at least she can’t summon any of her tiny spiders and you’ll get the achievement once you kill her.
I had the dialog to initiate romance with shadowheart but karlachs isnt showing up at all. Am I screwed for the achieve with karlach now? I have a save pre and post romance option/scene with shadowheart and still no cigar with karlach option.
Since you helped me I will help you. Picking up all the chests you come by and lining them up in the hallway will block off the reinforcing cambions completely
I am stuck as no one apart from Druids walking about at grove, no teiflings anywhere. I have Haslin in camp but can't get get anything from him to join group
If he is in camp then that is all to do with him for now. He won't become a playable character that you can get into your party until midway through Act 2.
Such a great guide, loved the breakdowns. However to note: The Bulette Fight in the underdark cannot be this easily "cheesed" anymore. The Bulette has an extra 100 temp HP, and will ignore damage under 15 with these Temp HP. With 12 Oil Barrels, it is likely you will not even touch the Bulette's actual HP anymore unless they fail a lot of Dex checks (which they will have a +3 to their roll, and likely you will have at most a 13/14 DC. So be careful when following this guide for the fight. Might want to setup this strategy, and THEN get ready for a normal fight. Be prepared for more than an "easy" victory.
I’m glad I checked your playlists when I bought BG3, I’m about to finish my first vanilla playthrough then I’m 100% following this!! Thanks again for the work you do (you helped me platinum Elden Ring not to long ago lmao)
Your guide is amazing. It really has helped to fill in a lot of the blanks that the game doesn't bother to explain. You got yourself a new sub.Thank you for posting.
Here is the Pinned Comment:
The full series is out now!
Act 2 Video can be found here: ruclips.net/video/6UBfg_xxLiQ/видео.html
Act 3 Video can be found here: ruclips.net/video/uOgiMiSsDMM/видео.html
Info on what tricks/exploits are still working can be found below.
As of 04/06/24 (Patch 6) all of the following exploits/tricks still work:
- How to get Silver Sword of the Astral Plane early/in Act 1.
As of 04/06/24 (Patch 6) the following still work as shown in the video:
- How to get all rewards from Kagha Encounter (Broodmother’s Revenge, Pale Oak, and Faithwarden Title).
- How to get Auntie Ethel’s Hair & still defeat her/ save everyone that can be saved. (If you have to pick one, probably go with the Hair!)
- How to give Noblestalk Mushroom to BOTH Shadowheart AND Derryth. (If you have to pick one, Derryth provides more tangible/mechanical benefits, once you get to Act 3.)
Shatter great content dude I can’t believe your vids don’t get more views but I feel overtime the longer bg3 is out you’ll generate more views👍🏻🫡
Thanks for the support Martin! Regardless of views, I’m committed to finishing this particular series in 2-3 more videos!
Well said. I agree
agreed and he has great voice
It's 3 and a half hours, im not saying that's a bad thing, im not dissing or hating in any way, im just saying that length no matter what it's about is always unfavorable in the algorithm
@@rhys.hushon I actually started this series with smaller parts (around 20-35 min) and they weren’t doing too well. This 1 part/act in a longer format is actually doing a lot better!
He is basically a human version of a perfect instruction manual for the game. I also realized, that I missed at least 60% of the game in Act 1 alone.
YES!! new to the game and game style and i felt so proud of myself when i killed all the goblin leaders and rescued halsin before heading to the underdark, only to realize i missed almost all of the side quests AND so so so many opportunities to gain approval/romance characters. after watching this, i realized just how much i was doing wrong. makes me upset when i see gamers who make fun of people for watching these kinds of video tutorials, but they are an absolute LIFESAVER!
This guide as good as it is, isn't completionist either.
Same 😂 i played my way and i ended up level 8 at act 3 when i should be level 8 after the first map of act 1
I missed a lot of content without realising it

ME TOO
This guide is incredible.
@@archmage7813 ur buggin big time
@@CJ-yu5ux If by bugging you mean preaching the truth then yes
@@archmage7813This is one of the best designed games, considering that DND is a hard game to implement, but sure.

Thank you!
Just finished act 1 and wow…… I felt like I just played an entire game
Hahaha yeah im currently like 27 hours and 3/4 of the video
Right? It took me over 50 hours to get to Act 2 and I still missed sooo much.
The early access was only act 1 and I played 500 hours of it. And only cleared act 1 once lmao
40h and just got to Act3 did 95% of content. Cant do all as a good guy.
Anyone who wants the early act 1 silver sword of astral plane after patch 5. See below for extra guidance:
1) Do the same invisibility/blessing etc. setup shown except I just went with the hireling and Karlach.
@@Lievyon what did you do?
Thank you! This was very helpful, for me I didn’t need anyone other than the hireling, once he dropped it, I stole it off the ground, transferred it from the hirelings inventory to my inventory, went to camp and did step 4. Im on console btw
This is also what I did. That dude just wasn't hanging around for a dialogue and potential rolls for the XP gains. Too bad about that. @@kgkartifact
*facepalm* I didn't to try this. Still managed to flee from combat w/the sword. Does this mean they will be hostile next I see them with Lae'zel?
This is the Baldur's Gate 3 of walkthrough guides. Outstanding. 👏
You have to do it again? For the trophy?
@@joedelarosa7973 think I accidently replied to the wrong comment sry
On Ps5, I restarted so many times because Arka wasn't showing up, but the Sigil was being automatically added to my map after the fight with the goblins at the gate. I even tried moving my entire party to the left.
Instead, as soon as they opened the gates, I ran in as fast as I could. I noticed in an earlier attempt, it looked like Arka was walking behind Zevlor. That was my first and only successful attempt at getting her scene. I ignored looting, going to the sigil until after.
I wasn’t getting it so I may try this later on another run. I’m playing on ps5
THANK YOU!!!
Best guide!
Usually its been "if you choce this route in act 1, you can do this here" but that 100% on you what you chooce not the maker of video.
Beat the entire game now going back using this guide, thanks for the effort you put into this. The only thorough vid I’ve found so far related to this topic.

Longrest 1, shadowheart comes first because Astarion will say to leave him alone otherwise

Thank you for sharing this. I had the same issue. But loading day 3 save and a single short rest got it to happen. Cheers!
3:38:03 If you don't get long rest triggered upon travelling to Grymforge. Take long rest whilst still in the Creche, once rested then fast travel to Grymforge and you should automatically trigger another long rest and the interaction with Kith'rak Voss.
This didn't work for me either sadly, I tried without the creche rest first, then I did rest in creche then fast travelled, didn't trigger a rest.
Oh actually I just got it, I had to leave the creche entrance first, then fast travel.

Something I found today completely by chance;
If you go to the Druid’s grove, head to the makeshift prison and jump one more platform down from the secret exit.

In my first gameplay as The Dark Urge (Bhaalspawn) 😈, even after 180 hours, I missed many things of the game.
Now with this walkthrough, even playing as a Bard, and some things have changed due to Larian updates, it's been fantastic. Thanks for sharing and let's move on to Act 2... Greetings from Brazil. 😁
Tried just playing and figuring out as I went along but after watching this video I saw so much that I missed. So many great tips.
Differences with current patch:
-Cant knock out vendors and steal all the things you sold them.
I hate the algorithm sometimes. All your guide videos should be over 100k views given the quality of them and effort.
Happy to see that it has indeed passed that by far since :)
To save some people some trouble the knocking out the merchants has been patched. I also think knocking them out no longer makes them upset with just the person who attacked but because it showed my whole party as losing attitude so i ended up going back on my previous save and smipping it all together
it worked for me on ps5
Act 1: the Club of Hill Giants strength in The Arcane Tower on the floor with Bernard the robot
Act 2: the Shadow Blade Ring at camp after you find Arabella's parents
Act 3: Duke Ravengards sword in the underwater throne allows you to get the maximum Charisma in the game [past 22 if you do everything right]
For anyone trying to get the legendary silver sword in act 1 (as of 4/14/24) you can still get the hireling, but have only the hireling go and get the sword to drop. Once the sword drops, pick it up as the hireling and move it to your inventory. The hireling will die but you will be fine if everyone else is sneaking a good distance away
note: you must then go to camp to revive the hireling then you can dismiss then and play normally
but when i get there back i can't speak with them, they attack me every time how i speak them without fight
You dont, chooce
@@ItsShatter noted. Definitely will go the slick talk route anytime I can. Great content!!
It may be worth updating the description of this vid so players know
I gotta echo the sentiment of other commenters, this guide is incredible. I'll probably return and comment again if i find anything else that is outdated
Same. I lost -45 for 2 characters and -25 for the other 2.
Man, I can’t wait for your Act 2 guide. Hope it gets posted soon. Love your guide. My party is on standby waiting for it. Thanks for your efforts!
Look out for it by Friday!
it's MUCH easier to follow your cues for cardinal directions with the mini-map locked into north orientation. fantastic guide!
Just bought baldur's gate this weekend, and i am already in love with it.
If I may ask the following questions (I have read the other comments, but haven't found any answers yet):
Is there any reason not to use Balanced as the difficulty level, instead of starting with Tactican, if several playthroughs are necessary anyway, other than not getting that one achievement in this playthrough?
I've not completed a playthrough with Paladin as my main character, but as far as I know this might work out for you:
1) Concerning companions: IS seems to prioritize character approval for companions, and although it is possible to maximize somewhat more - all of the advice in this video is sound.
Thanks a ton for these videos. Your Elden Ring series was incredible and now i’m on another journey in BG3, thanks for being my guide
The perfect walkthrough dosent exist....
The perfect walkthrough
I just started your guide. PLEASE FINISH IT. I am watching and rewatching as I play.
Me too! omg he really helped me a lot as a newbie!
Me three!
I can't say thank you enough. I'd be so lost without these guides. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you for the detailed, explanatory, direct narrative; really appreciate it
It's a shame longer videos don't get pushed by the algorithm because this was great and informative, just what I was looking for.
shatter your straight up killing it!
Thanks.
Man you are one of the best channels I've come across. Such great content, hope you get way more recognition in the future for this outstanding work!
Playing the story 3 times one with my friends one on my own and one with all achievements I appreciate this video BG3 will have to wait Tuesday when I’m off this took me 4 days to complete guys make sure u do your chores 😂😂
Crazy only 8k likes... havent completed the full vid but. Enough info in the first like 15 mins to get a like. I appreciate the content
Hey I’m grateful the series has gotten even this much attention. Thanks for watching, for the kind words, and for the 👍🏻. Hope you have a great week!
@@ItsShatter The cool thing is this can be a step by step type video OR a checklist video. I am using it as a checklist to make sure I dont miss anything in act 1 but, I can see it being a great guide to follow along with as well. Again, appreciate the content. Will definitely look more into your vids after this one!
if I could love this video and its sister videos I would
Well, I thought out the video.
Was able to port everybody back in after that!
well done bro, can't wait to see your act 2 guide😄
Bless you for making my first steps more easy. It gave me a better perspective on what is even possible in this game. I felt quiet overwhelmed.

@@OK-ph9ry hi
You do a wonderful job explaining and showing how to really enjoy this game. I have gone through 1 playthrough so far and now want to discover everything I missed. I'm glad you don't spoil too much in dialog, so we can still enjoy the scene. You have also helped me understand more in how to use the mechanics in the game to my advantage. Thanks for the hard work!
Thank you for your guides. They have helped me a lot
I am already at my 3rd run of the game and am not learning much from the video. I just like to listen to it driving with the soothing voice and chill music in the background.
In addition to my other comment, I would also like to show you gratitude with deeds 😄
Thank you for your generous donation John! I am always happy to help. Wishing you a happy new year!
Incredible guide. Played through act 1 three times before using this guide and I was surprised at the amount of things I still hadn't found. Just at 40 hrs now and leaving this guide to go to the act 2 one. Thank you!
Please keep those coming. Also, All hail the algorythm!
FOR THOSE WITH CARAVAN STRONGBOX LOOTING ISSUES FROM ZARYS
I see several comments that after knocking out Zarys, the chest isnt on her.
Q: How did you get Karlack proficient in the Returning Pike as a Monk?
Hey there, sorry for not getting to this sooner. I don’t think she is proficient with it, but for some reason when she throws it it still deals max/ a lot of damage. Doesn’t work well as a melee weapon though.
Thank you for the donation, hopefully this answers your question and let me know if you need anything else!
Throw is considered an unarmed attack for some reason so, being proficient with fists :), she shouldn't have problems throwing the pike. If you try and STAB someone with the pike, then you will have a much worse time.
@@ItsShatter was this by any chance patched/changed I can’t do much damage with it at all

This video deserves more views. Havent seen a tutorial like this for a video game, ever.
Pushed the Matriarch into the pit and it teleported back up 😂
Patched brother.
You did what so many people try and fail to do. Well done!
Watching this made me realise I’ve been playing BG3 wrong…🤣😅 I’ve missed out on SO many things 🤣🤣
There is no wrong way to play! But I definitely like pushing all the buttons and pulling all the levers lol
You helped me get to 713 in Elden Ring now I am sure your videos will help me Platinum this. Thanks mate.
Or try to freeze or curse them with Dex disadvantage before blowing them up
Just fight in normally its not any harder than most fights there.
The area where karlach has to jump is too high as it says. Any tips? 3:08:06

So for the Underdark, you didn't cover going back and killing the other two minitours, nor the smuggler's den that behind them.
He said go and explore more if you want before long rest
