I met my young Filipina Negros Oriental girl like Janet six years ago and it’s been the best years of my life. We even married and with halo halo child. I totally understand you guys and can relate. My pretty young Filipina never asks me for money. I can barely change a lightbulb, she like to take care of everything. She always not want me to spend too much. Mike, as I’ve said before, you have handled this situation perfectly. I would do exactly the same thing. I am glad that there are vloggers in this realm that offer good advice to people like me with regard to finding a Filipina mate. I realize that there are bad people out there (including Filipina scammers). However, after spending a few weeks with a Filipina in Cebu recently, I found that I didn’t like the feeling I had as I was constantly second-guessing everything she said as to its ‘true motive’. It became apparent to me (after 4 weeks of nearly constant contact) that we were not right for each other - but not for any reasons of lack of trust or a feeling of being used.
As much as the information about warning signs of potential problems with a Filipina is useful, I believe that it can cause us to be unduly suspicious of their every move and their every word which can be damaging to the potential relationship.
I, for one, don’t want to see them all as ‘guilty’ until they have ‘proven’ their innocence to me. I believe that there are far more good Filipinas than bad ones.
Just explain to Janet that there are unhappy, cynical people everywhere who hate seeing other people happy. These people are often miserable in their own skin - and they seem to take pleasure in trying to bring other people down. Don’t let them do that to you or her.
Trying mention bringing a Filipinas to states to live judgmental expats troll will come out many advantage to bring her to states if you can afford it most of the critics cant afford the poverty guide lines if they wanted to so it wrong for all of us.

I believe you should vet them and their family…establish boundaries …some Filipinas will play the long game …my first one took me two years to figure out her motives for annulment and schooling…but when she lied and asked me for $ it was over …later i found out her many fb accounts and Filipino bf…although she tried and her family members still try to keep in touch no way lol
@@countryroads5234 Man, I sure wish you could flesh out a few more details here. It could be helpful for many including myself. For example, when you said it took you 2 years to figure out her ‘motives for annulment and schooling’ , was this a ruse she was using just to get money from you? And when you said that you later found that she had multiple FB accounts - how did you find out - and how is that a negative? To a seasoned FB user this question may seem elementary - I don’t use FB often and didn’t know you could have multiple pages. Thanks

Thank you for making this video. I'm a Filipina/American. I grew up in the USA since about 3 years old. I've never been to the Philippines, but plan to. I've been around other Filipinos and I'm proud of the the very welcoming way they are. They are very generous, will welcome you to come in and eat. Everything Janet does for you is out of love. There are gold diggers in any race unfortunately, but you can't pin point a race. I've been taken advantage of for my kindness, but no more.

I had a wife like this in Germany, we married young. Felt so bad, how little she wanted for herself. Loved her like nothing else. She died of cancer 10 months ago, just 38 yo. Western society got really bad, left the country to move east and now I find myself entertaining the same idea you had..

I'm a 73 years old American with a plan to visit the Philippines as soon as possible to see if it will fit as a place of retirement for me. My hope, dream and desire to have the sun rise and set on my remaining years with a lovely Filipina by my side. My opinion is should a Filipina choose to be my girlfriend, companion, friend, lover and caretaker I have a obligation to take care of her while she is with me and after I'm gone. My experience is most of the naysayers are pretty miserable people. The negative comments make me mad, but after a few minutes I realize that they are the ones who are unhappy. I’m glad you and Janet are happy. I just watched Paul’s wedding and had a few tears of happiness sneak up on me. I am so happy for ya’ll. Mike I've been down the you tube rabbit hole for about 6 months as I take the steps to check out south east asia. One thing I keep seeing is the pure affection from Filipina girls. That alone is a huge driver that a lot of men want, including myself. Western women could learn a thing or two from them. I'm with you, sex is great and all, but it is not everything. Great video, sounds like you have a wonderful woman... As long as you have a steady stream of income coming in from Social Security, Dividends, or other investments, then I agree with you... The allowance you are giving her is very reasonable... She seems like a great lady, and you are a good man for supporting her financially and emotionally... However, I have also heard stories about women in the Philippines who have 100 " Online Boyfriends " who send the woman $ 100 per month each. $ 10 K USD per month income from scamming people... That should be a crime.

Mike and Janet, i’ve never actually been to the Philippines, but I have done my research and everything you say I have found to be true, it’s a totally different culture and I believe a lot of these negative comments are coming from western guys who have had bad experiences in their own country, i’ve watched all your videos, and like you said, Janet was helping support her family and spending a lot of time with them so when you came along and ask her to quit her job and spend more time with you, that was a financial hardship on the family and it’s only right that you compensate her family for that loss of income as well supplement Janets income, if you did not want her to continue working , I plan on making a trip next year to the Philippines, and if I do find a girlfriend, I would like to travel with her and if she has a job that would be difficult to do so I would expect to supplement her income if I asked her to quit her job, thanks again Gordon

My fiancé is 11 years younger than me, I’ve visited her twice and I’m visiting her again before she gets to the US. When I’m there she takes such good care of me and when we are apart she dedicates a lot of time to me. Janet sounds like a great young woman like my fiancé. She’s happy with McDonald’s and Jolly Bees. When she needs help I do what I can but she doesn’t expect it. Recently I had to help her buy a generator after a typhoon, it’s not a big deal to me. She has a salon, regularly I pay for her internet, it’s not expensive. A woman from here would have me spending a lot more. I can definitely relate to how people make assumptions about the two of you, those people aren’t important.

As for the amount it’s a case by case situation…for over 4 years I put my girlfriend up in her own house $80 a month, pay for all her food ,electric, WiFi, a few cell phones, load, I bought her a brand new motorcycle, pay dental, and medical needs, I bought her father a brand new motorcycle, I’ve bought rice countess times for her family, I paid $1,600 US on her brother in law as he had to go to a private hospital in Dumaguete for a snake bite. He was in a coma but he survived, sent money for a funeral ( food and coffee), every Christmas I send money so all the children have a toy, new clothes, and candy about 20 kids and that’s just a part of what I spend….I will be moving to the Dumaguete area next year when I get my Social Security. 99 percent of foreigners don’t bother to spend that kind of money even if they can afford it and that’s up to them but I’m not a cheap ass so I do what I feel is right. I was there before Covid-19 and and saw how her family lived in poverty in the province and I tried to hold back my tears because of the reality of they way they were living. I could say a lot more but I feel this is enough. Mike I’m sorry that some people are so rude about your girlfriend and her family. I get lots of pushback as well here in the US from people who never have left the US so you’re not alone.

I give my girlfriend money every month also. She has never asked for anything. I put the money in her bank account, and she asked for my permission to get money out of it even though I told her it was hers. I do this because I can, and I care about her and her family. People don't understand that a dollar goes a long way here in the Philippines. I have never had a woman care for me as this woman does.

I had a girlfriend in Thailand for 4 years, I gave her 400 US$ a month, some she sent to sick Mother. She didn't do much for me other than take care when I was sick. I wish I had that money now instead of the girlfriend experience.

I’m 62 and my girlfriend is 34. I provide $300 per month for my girlfriend in Manila. Her rent is $85 per month. She has a 9 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. If she chooses to conserve and gives her family money I’m ok with that. I also buy bus tickets for her and the kids to visit her family in the province on occasion such as Christmas. I also bought her a 2021 model motorcycle that was $900. Of course I also spend money on airline tickets to get me to the Philippines.

@@marcrichard7251 I read your comments and I agree we are a lot alike. I’ll be moving myself but not for 4-7 more years so as to maximize my social security. Long distance is hard on her and there’s always weeks of crying when I go back to the states. Unfortunately there is no divorce in the Philippines and she is married although she hasn’t had contact with her husband for 3 years and he provides $0 support for the kids. If I can get that annulled then I might bring her here until I retire and then we will go back.

@@garrylafferty100 you may be right if I was her only source of income. She earns selling clothes on Facebook and I just gave her the capital to buy shoes and leggings for Zumba classes participants. She was a Get Driver but lost the job when she was forced to stay home with her son because of a severe ankle sprain. Her parents relocated to the province when Covid hit and they were her backup child care.

LOL She is one of the better looking Filipina's I've seen on RUclips. One word of warning, On another expat channel a sister of his GF hooked up with a viewer and milked him for a lot of money. So even if the GF is an honest girl it doesn't guarantee the sister will be to.

You don't have to justify to ANYONE how much you give to people you love. It is 'nice' to tell people what you give, out of the goodness of your heart or for appreciation of what you receive from your girlfriend. It is the right and honorable thing to do, to make sure, the people you care and love are taken care form when you are gone, otherwise, one is a selfish POS. That's the way I see it, of course it's all up to the individual to see if he is being taken 'advantage' off. From what you are saying, she deserves even more. DO NOT worry about the 1%, you old enough to know that these 'people' will always be there and I am surprised that is only 1%.

Sadly facts. Do we treat our partners like children or are they partners? Are we their s-daddy or s-mama? It's okay to give her spending money if she is a stay at home mom or wife, but nothing is free in life; no women is entitled by virtue of her age or gender to extract our resources. We are not obligated to be a welfare plan for an extended family, or step parent to children not our own. I understand this is the transactional agreement we, as older expats, feel is required to get a mate here, but, in doing so, are we selling our dignity as men?

I always like your videos, and I thought I had subscribed, but I jut realized that hadn't. It is fixed now. I totally agree with you. My gf never asks money from me for herself or her family. I sometimes give her very small amount of money for her family; around $100 CAD every other month or three. She even asks my permission before she sends her money to her family. If I am able to send a little money for them which will make their life easier, then why not? You are very lucky to meet Jan, and she is very lucky to have you, a decent person, in her life.
