I met my wife here more than 30 years ago after replying to a small advert in a local paper in my country offering an introduction to Filipina girls to cut a long story short I ended up coming here meeting the advertisers niece we have been together over 3 decades and I've never regretted a day of it.

"Never Asked for Anything!". That is the key for many of us. Found mine online. Had gone through several online prior to this who asked for money, support and turned out not to be truthful about their life stories. Then found a good one. One conclusion I came to was to stay away from younger women. I wanted a wife, not a daughter to raise. Kids were ok but not babies or really young kids (mine has a 22 yo daughter). As I focused on older women (35-50) I found much more mature, seasoned, life experienced and hard working women. Then I found the one from Bohol. Cares for me like you described, good with her family. Now after 15 months here she is exactly who she said she was. No regrets and much happiness.

Now here's someone with some common sense me to brother most guys have no common sense sending thousands to women they never met a good majority of women in the Philippines are married or single moms with live in BF. The women in the picture with me never ask me for nothing yet until I went to meet her she didn't tell me she had a 5 yo daughter while chatting online but when we met she was more beautiful in person 5'5 slim hair done to her ankles she apologized she didn't think I will accept her and her daughter best thing I ever did. I send her $200 a month over their to help her and her sick mom which I met in person very generous people when I stay in their province.

I spent 2 years in an LDR vetting and getting to know my 35yo Filipina whom I met on Cupid. I figured it was constructive use of the lockdown time when I otherwise could not be in the Philippines. You can really get to know a woman well that way and weed out the red flags if you don't send them money. We discussed what we expect of each other and what our roles will be. I'm now in Manila on a 2 month visit with her to see what she's like in person. Since meeting her at the airport she's even more beautiful and sweet than I expected. She's taking care of me so much better than any of my previous Western relationships come close to. Now I plan to return next year permanently to live my life with her.

I was divorced for 24 years. I didn’t want to be in a relationship again. When I fit older I started thinking about relationships again. I dated some women here in the US. Totally different from what I was raised in my beliefs. Philippines was my destiny from the get go. I just spent most of my life figuring it out. I met Joy on cupid also.

Been married to a Filipina 27 years, what you have said is such good advice. Been there done that, don't expect everything to go perfect. We had are good days but also the bad ones. We worked thru all and now I'm so grateful to have found my life partner...

👋🏻 hi Mike, I met my wife in 2004 on line, yup even back then 😂 was a lot different then because there were Internet cafe’s and no smart phones (big problem today). Chatted 4 months, sent a to of $100 over that time(big spender or cautious?)before the long flight from the east coast, spent 3 weeks there and set her up with an apartment and returned home to settle things up to moving there and married her 6 months later. Lived and traveled all over the Philippines with my wife and newborn baby after a year of marriage. I had a very nice military pension, a college education and found a job teaching English at a Korean academy, became the Principal and then Marketing Director and traveled all over SE Asia on the school’s dime. Left in late 2010 for our daughter’s education and returned to Boston where she is and has always been a high honors student and a beautiful person inside out. Singer, guitarist, flutist and pianist at the age of 14 now in High School. My wife and I will return to our home there being watched and lived in by her sister and family until our return. I was 44 and she was 29 when we met and now 59 and 44 😂 time flies when you’re with the ones you love the most ❤️🙏🏻👍🏻💪🏻 That’s my story and I’m sticking by and to it. 😂

I’ve met ac Filipina on messenger back in 2017. She’s sent me a friend request. After that, she’s asked me if I’m rich, just that first few messages. After that, she’s not asked once. 7 years later we still message one another and she’s sent pictures of her at church. A provincial grade school teacher. She does ask me if I ate or brought food to work. I’m also just done a month ago begin to look into the Philippine lifestyle, they humble even though their income isn’t high or don’t have much to offer. I love the one I message with especially because she is the breadwinner of her family. To me, that is a big responsibility she handles very very well.. I can’t imagine holding that much responsibility . A few times I’ve deleted her on social media but she would just come back. Such a good heart Sam’s kind and respectful and considerate woman I’ve met on line.

Do not send money to someone you haven't met - for sure. You might get lucky, but the odds are quite low. Next phase, have a girlfriend budget, and stick to it!
Back in 1993 I and my wife began writing letters to each other via snail mail. About sixteen months later I flew to the Philippines and met her. When I saw how she acted towards me and her mother who was with her I knew that If I went back to the States a single man I’d be a loser for it. We married in the Philippines and this wonderful woman has blessed me with three sons and a wonderful loving companionship with her. It was someone who knew my wife that played a role in getting us to write each other.

Mike, this was very inspiring and helpful. I am going through some bumps and bruises 😂 here almost one month now. I met a couple of nice ladies and a couple of not so good.
Even though I lived in Indonesia recently for two years and Mexico for 9 months I have never met more talented ladies at scamming than here. Big education early on. Fortunely I have a never send money policy and am getting wise at catching (smelling) a scam before it goes too far. I have sent small amounts for transport to meet me and of course generous in person. I am in Puerto Galera after visiting Makati and Baguio. Am getting a two months apartment here to test things out. 7,000 a month by the beach.(kitchen/ac).
Appreciate you sharing this one and the other about scammers. There are good ladies here in the Phils for sure but I am super cautious and careful while still having an over all great experience so far.

Make sure her husband is dead, if she is married and her husband is still alive, but has been gone for a long time, doesn't matter how long, he can come back and blackmail YOU OR HER for being with his wife, there is no divorce in the Philippines, you can get in trouble for being with a married woman if her husband find out, you've up shot creek without a paddle, make sure that they are free, no marriage. that's a NO NO.
Mike I am a Filipina widow living in Hawaii. I met several guys on line had relationship I was wondering why at the end they always ask help and always monetary. Are this BEGGARS OR SCAMMERS. I had eight guys at different times all of them asking for monetary help.I told them I am not charitable institution I don’t donate money. What kind of human being are they.
Nothing beats being there in person, and meeting people in person. One of the benefits of being in navy is port visits.(and any place the navy goes, there are filipina girls there.) I met my filipina in hong kong early 1990's, while my ship made a port visit. i met her at a bar, but she was a housekeeper just out having fun dancing. I spent a couple 30 day vacations in hong kong, and then got married in 1996, and brought her here to USa. Been married ever since.

I met girls online but quickly learned about scams and pitfalls . I’ve decided to just travel to the Philippines alone for the first time in January and just check things out .

20 yrs w/ my beautiful Filipina bride ... What a refreshing difference she was/is STILL ! Shes in the states workin her butt off now ... ( she has a college education) ,and can handle / communicate w / anyone ,anywhere ,and look like a star in the process. I m a middle class guy in a middle class house ,and to travel ,we both hafta work . Being semi retired tho, I dont work the crazy hours I once did . I have a trade that still gives me money- making jobs several days a week ....I just dont want 60 hr weeks anymore . I knew my bride almost 2 yrs before we married . $500 phone bills 😂. Would I do it all again ? OH YESSSS Such a grand and gorgeous lady from Leyte ! !

I believe I got lucky, I met my fiancé on Filipino Cupid and we were ldr for 2 years because of the pandemic. She has a lot of great characteristics of supporting her family, caring, loving and very sweet. I got a good girl and I love her!

If we are to be honest with ourselves. A lot of the older foreigners are dating or marrying younger Asian women is because they're not able to find young beautiful women in their own country and so that's why they're using the strength of the American money to influence the Asian women unfortunately. Most people on RUclips have to start being honest when it comes to making videos pertaining to finding love abroad with Filipinos Thai women or any women of Asia. That is the reason why a lot of older foreigners and retirees are moving abroad and getting married or finding younger women because they're not able to date or marry or find younger beautiful women that will like them.

You really covered every important thing about finding a good Filipina! I came here to retire and live in a country that my autistic son and I could afford and since I had 2 retirement pension’s this military friend invited me to come and try out , as he said “ Living Life in Paradise “ and I took him up on it after about 7 months of thinking about it and during that time he introduced me to a young Filipina and we had so much in-common it was like we had known one another for years! I told her that I had no intention of having a relationship but asked if she wanted to be a friend to my son and I and graciously she said yes. I was 42 and she was 22. She had told me that she wasn’t looking to be in a relationship either but she would be glad to be our friend so long as we had a girlfriend of hers with us and I was thinking that she wasn’t a girl she is a lady and didn’t want any rumors about her seeing a Kano as she had just finished her degree in secondary science education and that rumors would cause her to loose any chance of her being a teacher and I understood.
That was about 16 years ago and we have been apart only two days since then!
We have a 12 year old girl now and my wife hasn’t had to work as we make enough from my pension’s. We also paid any and all debt that her family had taken to get her through college and we made life a little easier for her parents to live.

I met my first wife while we were serving in the Marine Corps. After my divorce I dated many girls, then met my second wife at work. We dated, lived together for 5 years before marriage. 16 years later all is great. I hope the best for you Sir. Good luck.

I have now just married my Filipina. She is a wonderful woman.
I had to learn through mistakes also. Ultimately I would not have met my Filipina if it was not for online sites. But ultimately my wife I met through mutual friend I met because of dating a girl through a site.
I needed every experience to gain clarity and enough insight to identify the right woman for me.
Ultimately it’s about ensuring you know what you want. What you need in a woman.
Having standards that are proper and upright and then waiting to find the right woman that meets those things.
But above all you need to be a man worthy of such a woman.

Mike, you fortunate man. Sounds like you found a treasure in Janet. I am happy for both of you. A smart man learns from the lessons and mistakes of others. The rest of us learn the hard way. One wrong misstep can be costly and painful in many ways. I think I have found a good one online. I did not want or intend on LDR or communicating with a Filipina till I got there. Then I fell into a free dating site. Temptation got the best of me. A couple of lessons later. So far so good. Only time will tell. But my neck is out. To me, online relationships are BUNK!! Looking women in the eye and feeling their energy is where it's at. I have resisted all of the Dating Sites, and Facebook interactions. I don't intend to get involved with anyone for quite awhile after I'm there...if at all.

I had a similar experience myself. I was on Filipino Cupid. Talked to several girls and right away they started asking for money giving a hard luck story. Or needing a new phone. So that was a red flag. Then I met one that didn't ask for anything. I thought maybe she might be ok. Then one time one the phone to her she didn't hang up after our conversation. I stayed on the line and listened. She was having a conversation with a guy . It sounded like he was at the table with her. She was having dinner at the time and she said she was alone. So I called her back and confronted her. She tried telling me that it was the waiter but the conversation was to long and I didn't buy it. That was the end. Then I met the one I'm married to now. She had been working in Manila for a long time friend to support her son who was living with her parents. She was from the mountains above Moalboal in Cebu. She met me at the airport and we've been together ever since. Wonderful woman 34 years old. Her parents have a lot of land and farm. I wasn't aware they had the land until later. Now we are trying to finish our house, which she had already started building before I met her. So you can find a good one. You just have to be smart.

Met Sheryl online in 2007. She believed I was the one and I had no clue. I got engaged, twice, but yet Sheryl believed I would eventually come. She beat me playing online billiard and the game was for me to come and visit. I don't make promises I don't keep. In 2013, I slipped on a patch of ice and in a week, I arrived in Manila where there is no ice and snow. We had difficult times at first because cultures, language clash. However, she's a better person than I am. She believed. We married 9 months later, and it's has been 9 years married as of this month. Twenty-two years difference doesn't present an issue when both are matured and communication rules the day. I'm here to stay and I'm grateful to be living here. I'm enjoying the best years of my life.

My mum is Philippine my dad meet her 20 years ago not on line it was from a magazine called pen friends from around the world she was working in a Hong Kong at the time he got to know her with letters & phone calls then he got to meet her in Hong Kong then after that he got to go to The Philippines to meet her family it was amazing I have been there 4 time it is the best place in the world you could not wish for a anything better they are not all like that my dad would do the people do everything to help you we are going back this summer yes you have to help her family. You will have to talk to my dad & he will tell the amazing story about him & the Philippines 🇵🇭

I had a huge problem with my American friends. They networked all the filipino girls off my fb and started sending them all money. It's been a disaster. my friends are batting less than 20% on getting a good girl. Glad to hear good stories. Men from USA are starving these days.

Agreed my fb ldr fiancé sends me a simple list each month of what she spends where and when with a total…still does it even now after almost three years …plus it helps me learn prices and places she shops

My Wife passed away March 2017. I spent a year mourning and getting my head together. In April 2018 decided to give Thailand a shot. We had been going there many years. Joined a dating site and talked to a bunch of women. Then I met a special one. We talked and videoed for months. Went to Tland in July and met her. We've been together ever since. Getting married early next year. Never leaving Thailand!!

A good rule of thumb is the One-and-a-half Rule: If you want a working-age full-time companion, you need to offer at least 1.5x what she could make working full-time if currently unemployed or working in the grey economy. If she's employed full-time at a good company, budget 2x her monthly salary because she is taking a risk quitting her job for you.

My situation was a bit different. I met a mature Filipina (39) online when I was 46. I visited her and met her family she was a good woman - school teacher, eldest in her family. I returned and married her 6 months later, but we both stayed and continued to work in our respective countries but took turns visiting each other. I took early retirement at 59 now we reside together in the Philz so I got lucky. If I had not met her, then ideally, I would have retired and moved to the Philippines first, then started to meet local girls to find a "good" wife. Meeting online is rather risky to base any long term plans.

Ph. school teachers.. The worst.
I was in ph. for 7 mouths with a school teacher. She was on line doing sex chats with foreigners when she was with me. I found out when she left her messenger open in her laptop.
The teachers her school didn't give a damn about teaching the kids but were the biggest charters on line... Why? Because there have to have a level of English to qualify as teachers. The talk amongst most of them between themselves was about sex, foreigners and money. I got daily reports. Filipina teachers can't keep anything to themselves.
Geez Mike, you have done well. I know you had a few obstacles but you found your mate. I would like to find/be with an honest, caring and genuine lady but it sure isn't easy and like you I have made a few mistakes. Are you aware of any sites i can access, look at etc.

Hi Mike, I like how you are saying the facts! It is good to hear you share the mistakes that you made beforehand. It opens up our eyes to what can take place. It is like the third time is the charm. You talk level about what it should be and that proof of when you give money. Especially if you have met someone online and they are overseas. Janet sounds like a very great catch for you big time.
Have you thought of her doing a video from her side? I mean sharing about those honest women there in the Philippines and what they are looking for in a foreign man? The values and so on how she decided to open up to you.

I found a good wife online. I spent four year's searching. I met some scammer's. I caught on quick because I had researched. I met alot of women. Most of them weren't scammer's. I helped one of them. I finally met Joy. I knew right away that she was different from all of the other's. I went there in 2017 to visit. we already knew that we would be together. She moved here to Washington State in 2018. We are married and have a three year old daughter now. I am absolutely blessed in life now. We plan on moving back home to Dumaguete,(Bacong, Timbaou) in four year's.

Mike you’re not the first one and will not be last one that fell prey to the script in the Philippines. Myself I’ve thought about some of the online sites… but I’m resisting and taking the approach of boots on the ground next year and take a slow approach when it comes to that. And as I make friends my social circle will grow… And then who knows.I’m happy and active but at this point in my life 60+ want something different. I’m happy that things have worked out fine for you and you found a great partner and happiness.🍻🇨🇦😎

How can you distinguish "caring" from "long game" behaviors?
To circumvent this entirely I like to make authentic feelings irrelevant. Relationships in the states are often that way subconsciously anyway. I'm considering having actual contracts. If not legal I just want to make it known that "love" has no value in dealing with me. Respect yes. MUTUAL respect is all I want. 40's seems to take care of a lot of screening...

i meet a filipina girl on line 2 months after i meet her i came to phillines to meet her in person, i told her i am a christian and she said to me i am looking for a man in the church, so i came to philippines and we stayed together for one month, i told her to get to know each other we need to talk to each other and she said yes, this was early 2019 since then we are married and both in the church and she is not looking back plus she owns 2 pieces of property in cavite, with her i really feel so blessed with jesus in our hearts, i do admit i did meet a few before i meet her but not good at all, now im very happy
