My advice is for those coming to the Philippines looking for a simple, no obligation, easy way of life, no strings attached, no ownership, minimalist, little trouble, no personal drama, you are your own variable.

So many expats leave the USA with a toxic attitude with respects to their social, economic, and even. their cultural outlook of USA as the know all be all, state of the arts leader in everything that was ever invented, lol. They get a rude wake up call when going overseas, and then they fail. I know we can't save everybody so just "save" the ones that are good to you from the beginning, middle and end. It's the 4th quarter of our lives, don't leave your Filipina empty handed. Mike, ive model some of the things your doing for Janet, its an honorable way of life. Just another example of a common problem in PH: the girl gets pregnant once or twice, the boyfriend runs off, then the girl finds a foreigner
to marry and he feeds and adopts her children, AND, she gets a new house out of him before letting him go. She was successful.
This relationship is clearly over.

William has done his role supporting the wife with 2 kids. He was told to move out and not come back. Realizing theres no more support, she changed her tone signaling things can be worked out. Wife declining to move to Thailand signs that she will be seoarated with BF. What has the wife contributed to their relationship? Theres a lot of holes that made my opinion not to reconcile.
Hello? The woman said it herself, she admitted to not using the money to make payments like how her husband entrusted her to do. She also admitted to telling her husband to leave but then tracks him down to make him come back? Who in their right mind should have to deal with that kind of behavior? She can't be trusted and she's just too much drama. A grateful person (he took in her children most likely out of wedlock and provided them with a stable home)would not bring that kind of trouble to the person who's helped you out of dire straits. This interview does not help her look any better as a wife
But we never get to know why she did it. She says William knows why she kept the money. The interviewer never digs deeper. I'm curious. Another thing is it sounds like she never asked him to leave. She claims he always wanted to leave for a 2 week vacation from her. Finally she said, "Fine go!" In other words, she interpreted his vacation request as him leaving her so she told him to leave because of her pride. That seems like a lot of miscommunication. Then she asks him to return and he's to proud to return.
It sounds like a lot of drama. I'm not sure it can be fixed.
One thing for sure. He did not destroy, William. She admitted all her mistakes and acknowledge Williams kindness.
Regarding money matters. I think many people take advantage of the wife financially and the wife she just kept to herself..

She's STILL hiding facts that are probably incriminating to her character.
On the other side, Wm. does the same sort of behavior of not discussing his faults and only emphasizing his good intentions.

I've watched many video's of expats living in the Phil's since 2019 and I also have a friend who lived many years in Davao city with his Filipina wife. One of the biggest concerns from many of the expats I watched and my friend is that most Filipina are not the best at doing monthly budgeting. The best advice from my friend and the expats I've watched is the expat Husband or BF needs to be in-charge of the budget. If you don't have the BALLS to say NO, things can get out of control real fast and that nest egg you worked your whole life to save for retirement could FINISH into thin air leaving you BROKE!
Good for her for doing the interview, that took strength. She seemed to answer the questions with honesty and no hesitation. Sounds like most of the problems were money and communication related. Living on a small budget here is tough for expats, even more so if there are kids and family involved and making bad lifestyle choices.

After what has happened, it’s hard to come back in a place where you are a stranger or no relatives at all. What if they plan something that it is not nice to you
he was with the girl over 7 years and good with the kids. He was not mean to the kids or hit anyone so i think he is ok to come back but that is something he must decide
I agree. It will be the hardest decision he will make. The lady looks charmingly nice and have truly loved him before and looks honest too! I think If he comes back, he will still be taken care of by his wife and step daughters ‘til his last breath because of the economic benefits they are enjoying.
And where is he now? Pretty sure he is not back with any family in Thailand.

Biggest problem here is trust issues. She says she's open to reconciliation , but only without outside help. I think a 3rd party will be needed (if there is a chance) for an objective solution. Trust issues in a relationship are a cancer.

She's not very honest. She borrowed sums of money from her church and from her friends.
She didn't tell him about those loans. He had to pay all those loans. That was the main reason for their separation. She can't be trusted, just like many other Filipinas.

@@mikesphilippineretirement Can a person landlease from a local say at a purchase price prior to marriage, build and then get married? Can you do a 40 year land lease or is 25 the most? Wouldn't it still be yours in the event of a divorce? I am considering moving there. Maybe make it a goal to remain single until my home was built. I can say these women are built different. Women play men all over the world but she put in 7 years with him. That's a long time and she is very beautiful. You still have to keep a relationship alive and date as the man you have to lead. It's possible she fell out of love with him and that he didn't maintain the relationship. Women's emotions can swing quickly and you have to keep a close eye to changes. The dynamic is difficult to project strength and keep attraction alive when you're stroking out and having health problems. I guess this is the game at the end of life and it looks fun. Gotta have some bucks. It was a great interview, you kept the flow going and on track.

I was waiting for the "So did you put a hit out on your husband" question. Because so far none of the facts were actually disputed. Very strange. And now she wants him back? Maybe so she can get the insurance money? Or realized once the golden goose was gone life was hard again? He needs to stay away.

Looks like a very manipulative woman. She used him to be a father to her kids. Got him to build a house. Had access to his Facebook and bank accounts. Controlled the money and did not pay instalment of his motorcycle. After separation instead of settling for his contribution to building the house tells him the house is for her and her children. And, most likely has a boyfriend. (She did not deny it outright when question was put to her).
William should just move on. And consider what he paid for the house as sunk cost.

Just from my long experience in my old job, dealing with criminals, body language, facial expressions, show she is a liar. Big thing people in the comment seam to forget, those aren’t his kids, he owes absolutely nothing to her because of those kids, that was her bad decision to get pregnant TWICE by another man who didn’t stick around. I think she did good considering it's her first time in the "hot seat" on social media--her English was quite good as well. I tell everyone I talk to about getting off social media as much as possible--it's extremely addicting, as bad as a drug/alcohol addiction and it's something that's not necessary to live a happy life.

Let me reiterate what one commenter said, DO NOT get married, buy property, loan money, and just rent. If you must, just get a girlfriend and YOU control and call all the shots with your money and your life. I learned by watching posts like this. Believe me, you will enjoy your retirement so much better. You can just walk away. Learn to say no, or you WILL get sucked dry. This is a prime example of what could happen. I almost made the same mistakes, and I learned to say no my girlfriends family. And don't forget this woman has found a boyfriend.

It seems as tho she admitted to "mishandling" money especially with the motor bike payments but commented quickly about the situation and moving on. I guess I was hoping she may have a valid reason but it just seems like deception in my eyes. He did the right thing to move on I believe but bashing is not necessary on his part

Seems in my opinion, she's the problem. When you are dealing with poor filipinas(not all), it seems they can't stop scheming. They start small then raise the ante by doing bigger deals which gets them in deeper trouble. To hide their failures in these schemes, they have to keep borrowing more and more and more money to cover it up. Then one day, that "cat" gets out of the bag and they can't handle the scheme anymore. She took his money from the payments, she has secret loans out, she overspends, she said something weird about his life insurance policy on him(people kill for way less than a million pesos), using the house against him, saying she has a boyfriend. If I were him, I would cut my loses and run for the hills before she drags him in a hole he can't get out of and never ever go back to the Philippines.
If you've followed William I think you'd see it differently. He doesn not have got a great record for truth & likes to color every story so he comes off as the victim, hero, etc.

I like her.. she seems genuine, because it takes a lot of guts for any Filipino to admit their mistakes. She managed to admit it on the camera and publicly, which is very rare. I believe William and his wife still has a chance for good marriage, even after everything that happened. all those obstacles that they have are just little things, and if they both willing to fight for their future, they will have it
After seeing the interview with William and now this one, I see both at fault. Money wasn’t handled properly in both ends. The way she answers your questions fast and straight cut to me seem genuine. A Filipina who is lying will absolutely burn with the English language. She, however was solid. I still think there is a way for William to get some cut of the money from the house if she sells it. For her to be interviewed takes alot of courage. I’m sure many of her relatives told her no, but her doing it seems like she wants to clear the air. It would bring shame to her if does this interview and doesn’t reconcile with William. Not saying to work on the relationship, but to say, “I’ll sell the house and I’ll give you 50% of payment”. If not, its interview would bring shame on her, her family, and her moral value.

Its difficult to determine who is really telling the full truth but at the end of the day its the couple who have to work it out as friends and not enemies.
@williamabrams well I hope you can resolve your differences and start off as a newly met couple again and start having fun with each other. Your not getting any younger and basically if you start again, you will find out they are all the same.
@williamabrams I fully understand, over the last year or so we have struggled in our 22 year old relationships. We are looking after two bastardo stepgrandchildren under 3 years old because my two young stepdaughters don't want to be mothers anymore.
So it's straining the relationship and it's no longer fun anymore.
just from the way she is talking, there's something fishy. She has a hesitation to give simple answers. Doesn't mean she is bad, but definitely she very reserved. Our home in the Philippines which we built paying cash, is in my Wife's name & her Brothers name. Neither could sell outside each other agreeing. Great Video, sad story.

@@mikesphilippineretirement True, I have lived in my Wife's Family House for the past Ten years. Best thing I ever did. There are 13 in total living here in a 100M2 House split into 4 parts.
We share between one another, they never ask for money nor does my Wife give it unless they are working for her. Not paying Rent has enabled us to buy 2000+M2 which my Wife has a Clean Title to now and we are building a House together.
Honestly, I will miss being so close to the Family when we finally move in. Not all stories end in horror if you are aware and have a level head here.
No answer on why all the borrowing and missing payments, she wouldn't touch another dime till she proved herself. We'd go together to pay bills and no access to bank accounts..

I am a bit late here, and maybe this was already brought up, but to me the big question that needed to be asked wasn't asked, What did she do with the money? Why was she borrowing money from friends? What was she spending the money on if the payments were not being made. To me, if any reconciling was to take place, these are the questions that I would want answered, otherwise they are just going to have the same problems again. Was she spending the money gambling, on family, or maybe a secret boyfriend somewhere else, who knows, only she knows......
The house always belongs to the Filipino and not a foreigner. Every foreigner knows that you can not own land or a house in the Philippines and we all know that divorce is not a option there.

Sounds like William was telling some truth. This lady sounds like she is vindictive, and hell heth no fury like a scorned filipina. Thanks for posting both sides. She doesn't come across as vindictive to me. She does come across as Filipino Matriarchal. Filipino social structure = Female ruled, but "it is made to appear," that the man rules--though he generally does not. Filipino money culture is so very different than Western--and there William made his mistake. To her not paying the payments for the bike was "her choice," remember she rules (and rules the pesos). Few Filipinas are really wise to money. Why? Because "share," that is their concept, and that is why when $ appear, hands come from everywhere. That worked well, decades past, not so well, today. So, she "ruled" the pesos according to Filipino culture. Now, had he been wise and "controlled" his $ (not relied on her) there would not have been money issues. I suspect she felt affronted ("I am the Matriarch -- though it will never, ever be said out aloud). Affronted--she "lost face," and therein lies the "vindictive" flavor. Lol...I love trying to understand the culture. I do agree with the boyfriend and oddly, I'd love to ask her: "Did the family push you towards the boyfriend?" I'll bet the answer would be "yes." She cheated--that is reason for William to walk away. Who suffers the most? Him, and her kids. Tragic.

she did not look like she had a drug problem. Had her kids with her they are happy and good clothes and looked like they had plenty to eats
Great interview Mike. I like how you were respectful and neutral, never tried to stir the pot and make it worse. Good job. I was really expecting fireworks and a He Says/She Says type of story but...she was VERY honest and open. I can totally see how each of them felt like they were in the right. I hope they can get back together if that's in the cards.

For her to Admit that she didn't watch the video but pause it in the beginning. Started to reply to comments and even say that she already knows what's in the video wuithout watching, should tell us That william wasn't lying.
Leading questions is no way to do an interview.
To me it sounds like the marriage fell apart and she wanted to move on it happens, I agree with the comment about 3 sides to every story.

Willy is wrong in saying that it is his house and that it can not be sold without his consent. First of the land is not his and worst off the building permit is not in his name. In truth the house is the wife's name regardless if he paid the materials.
Even here in the US it doesnt matter who paid the house payment what matters is whose name is on the property. prove-in point of the recent story of the son of an old couple who was able to sell his parents home without their knowlege or consent even if they have been paying for it but his name was on the deed of the house
When a couple would fight about money, that's a red flag. I didn't finish this video , I am also a Filipina but I don't have faith in her and her side of story, I'm sorry.
There was one issue that you didn't touch on, Mike had mentioned his wife had a 1 million peso life insurance policy on him. He didn't directly say he felt his life was in danger, but it sure seemed he had some concern about it. I don't recall him mentioning he had a stroke in your other video. Maybe that's why she had life insurance so she would have some money in case he had a fatal stroke.
He has only 9 years left after having a Stroke. Less time if he's had bad habits all his life.
@@sloine-q5l Since I've heard several expats say 10,000 peso's is enough money to hire someone to expedite the husbands demise you could be right. If it was that cheap in the USA there would probably a lot more wives collecting life insurance instead of divorcing their husbands! LOL

Mike when you asked about the motorbike payment -- she said: 1 he knows the reason she didn't pay it and 2 she doesn't know why he didn't state the reason why they/she didn't make the payment... Ugh, why didn't you ask her the reason. Sounds to me like she's telling the truth. SO YOUNG MISS (Wengi ?? sorry for the misspelling) if you read this PLEASE TELL US THE REASON YOU DIDN'T MAKE THE MOTORBIKE PAYMENTS? He was supposedly giving you money to make Double Payments! So rather than what you said "he knows why the payments weren't made" -- in his interview HE thought the payments were made. --- Help me understand.... -- Besides that I thought she spoke quite nicely of him, she was respectful, and HE should have taken charge of managing the household finances. But that's just the way I see it.
I think it when to the family
Sounds like he knew why after the fact. She did say, she missed three payments and kept it from him. Then when the bank told him he was behind, he must have asked her what happened then got the answer as what happened to the money. Communication is truly the key in any relationship as well as patience and understanding.

Also..according to William in his interview, people were coming to his house saying she owed them money.
She's been borrowing money here and there. She didn't pay her loans for 3 months.
She was coming home late.
She took out a life insurance on her husband.
She wants to sell the house which she initially wanted to have for her children.

If it’s not yours, give it back. Work hard so you can afford anything you want or need.
She made some mistakes and confessed but i give her credit for putting herself out there and answering tough questions. It would be easier to stay quiet or lie.
