I had a situation like that and the husband was trying to blackmail me to report it to the Police and I would be going to jail. So I went to the police told them what happened I'd been blackmailed and introduced the evidence she said she was single. They both got arrested. My plan when I get over there is to stay off the dating sites altogether, then go try out 7-8 different areas for a couple months at a time each, "date the location" first, before deciding which location I want to "marry." Once I find my permanent place, THEN I'll start thinking about dating, and I'll try it organically for the first few months. If not successful, only then will I consider trying online.

She comes from a very respectable family. We were friends for three years before I visited the Philippines and married her. Now, we have two children, and we're living in the USA. She's a professional gynecologist, and I work as an economist.

I've been following your channel for some months, and today I just signed-up on one of the sites. Just the shear volume of likes that I have received- has been quite astounding, and I really had no idea. For many years, I have focused on the Latin-American dating site, and I have never once received more than 25+ likes in less than 1 hour. Now that I've been able to see the hotness that's in the Philippines, it has definitely grabbed my attention.
I think the best approach is to take some time, make some acquaintances with some expats and their wives/girlfriend and meet someone through them. Might weed out the real liars and scamming. No guarantees, but better odds of not getting hosed.

Yes, they may have a husband or a boyfriend stashed away somewhere! Yes, they may want to be with you for your money and not for love! The biggest mistake I made in the Philippines was to live with a single mother in Palawan. Everything was fine for 2 months, then one day she asked me to lend her 20k pesos to get her jewelry out of the pawn shop. She said her parents would give me it back the following day but of course she only paid back 6k, all planned. I wasn't aware of her debts and I just couldn't be bothered to leave her and the sum wasn't really huge so I stayed there. I was very cautious to give her anything else after that but I left her after further bad behaviour and a couple of dubious thefts . Everyone says avoid Single mothers, I found out for myself.
That's a lot of good advice. If someone listens to this video and doesn't follow your guidelines, whatever happens to them is on them, don't blame the women.
Good advice Mike. I've been married to my Filipina wife for almost 19 years and we live in the states and have 3 kids. Not all Filipina women will scam. My wife comes from a middle class family and is university educated. We met online and got married in the US when she was in the US visiting family in other states. We have a great life together, though not sure we will retire in the Philippines as the healthcare system is generally not good. They don't have a good health insurance network like we do in the US. The Philippines is a great place to vacation, but not to retire to. We did make sure our kids got Philippine citizenship so they can retain property ownership eligibility, etc, and that can be done at any Philippine consulate in the US. It also gives them the ability to have an optional life in the Philippines should something go horribly wrong with the US.

Not only is this bizarre and frightening but this could have gone horribly bad. No matter how well you think you have prepared, how could you have possibly prepared for this? If she likes you she will come on strong, coming from the west it was refreshing and scary at the same time. If she does not snoop your phone she does not really like you. I really hated this one but I have learned to treat my phone as open. I can't remember to turn it off every time. The rest is 100% accurate. Good informative video👍. I saw those things happen so much when I was stationed there in the 80's. Sometimes, it ended in violence. I'm glad social media wasn't around back then! Such a hassle! I was lucky to end up with a wonderful Filipina. We dated for close to 2 yrs before living together. Many times we were chaperoned by one of her sisters or cousin. They knew they were getting a steak dinner😅. She never asked for money. Has a very nice large family. Never lied about her situation. It's probably why we've been married 38 yrs with 3 wonderful adult children. She became a U.S. citizen. Staying in the P.I. wasn't an option she wanted. Though we do stay there part time throughout the year. But if you end up with a "bad" one, they can make your life miserable. Be very careful. So many just see you as a walking ATM.
Nepal is even more poorer country than Philippines, you won't like to immigrate there unlike some western country. Sure there are exceptions to general girls he is talking about. You may be one of them.

She is financially secure so ticked one box. Was divorced 3yrs said she'd show me her city sights. Didn't take it seriously but two days later surprised me by turning up at my hotel. When you compliment a Filipina that she's beautiful and they say "no I'm not", it's not so much that they're insecure as much as it's part of the culture's humility to deflect praise. Because saying "thank you" is interpreted as "yes, I am beautiful" and that is something they loathe upon.
Totally agree with you specially those who came from the country side, they are shy and humble. City girls and those pinays who are abroad are more westernized and will reply thank you, like me I'm in Canada I say thank you even if I know I'm not pretty haha. My wife would ask me if I liked what she was wearing. I would say it looked really good, because it really did look good on her. She would immediately go into the bedroom and change into something else that did not look so good. Finally, I learned to say yeah, it looks ok. Then she would not change to something else. Once, one was talking to me pretending to be in Northern Mindanao for me to find out that in fact she wasn't even in the Philippines but in New Zealand already with a guy from there, but still she was trying to get something out of other men. We started out online (late 2009) on a very irregular basis due to time differences and both having a full time job plus that both she and I also had other commitments (Hobby, friends, family). Long story short, Sept 2010, she picked me up from the airport (CEB). (I didnt know that people who pick up friends, family are NOT allowed to enter the arrival building in PH). After that straight to the hotel (Waterfront Cebu City). The next day, she took me to her mom, dad & brother.

Im sure it was you who previously mentioned. Set the ground rules early on in the relationship, and if she's committed, she will follow. Spot on with all u say. I had LDR for 4 mnths. Agreed to have a face to face. I rented Air BnB for 2 weeks. Me, 65, she 31. She met me with her brother & Sis in law - at the airport. We went to the condo and she stayed. Next morning she had something to tell me - “I have kids”. 3 of them. Youngest, 2 yo! Her husband left her. I did'nt know her and we had no relationship but she seemed to think that I could be a money pit to her. I had a woman meet me at the airport and it was great. If staying in a hotel, it is as simple as moving hotels if one wants to disengage. One should not enter a relationship if one cannot say "I'd like some space for a few days." One thing that is important is pre-communication. "I will be taking some space every few days if we enter a relationship. Is that comfortable for you?" If expectations are set up-front they don't have to be pushed or explained later.

I had a situation like that and the husband was trying to blackmail me to report it to the Police and I would be going to jail. So I went to the police told them what happened I'd been blackmailed and introduced the evidence she said she was single. They both got arrested. My plan when I get over there is to stay off the dating sites altogether, then go try out 7-8 different areas for a couple months at a time each, "date the location" first, before deciding which location I want to "marry." Once I find my permanent place, THEN I'll start thinking about dating, and I'll try it organically for the first few months. If not successful, only then will I consider trying online.

It's absolutely true that not all Filipinas are cheaters. In my case, I've had conversations with many Filipinas, and after a year of chatting, I met a genuinely honest and pure-hearted Filipina. She comes from a very respectable family. We were friends for three years before I visited the Philippines and married her. Now, we have two children, and we're living in the USA. She's a professional gynecologist, and I work as an economist.

I think the best approach is to take some time, make some acquaintances with some expats and their wives/girlfriend and meet someone through them. Might weed out the real liars and scamming. No guarantees, but better odds of not getting hosed.

The biggest mistake I made in the Philippines was to live with a single mother in Palawan. Everything was fine for 2 months, then one day she asked me to lend her 20k pesos to get her jewelry out of the pawn shop. She said her parents would give me it back the following day but of course she only paid back 6k, all planned. I wasn't aware of her debts and I just couldn't be bothered to leave her and the sum wasn't really huge so I stayed there.
I was very cautious to give her anything else after that but I left her after further bad behaviour and a couple of dubious thefts .

Good advice Mike. I've been married to my Filipina wife for almost 19 years and we live in the states and have 3 kids. Not all Filipina women will scam. My wife comes from a middle class family and is university educated. We met online and got married in the US when she was in the US visiting family in other states. We have a great life together, though not sure we will retire in the Philippines as the healthcare system is generally not good. They don't have a good health insurance network like we do in the US. The Philippines is a great place to vacation, but not to retire to. We did make sure our kids got Philippine citizenship so they can retain property ownership eligibility, etc, and that can be done at any Philippine consulate in the US. It also gives them the ability to have an optional life in the Philippines should something go horribly wrong with the US.

If she likes you she will come on strong, coming from the west it was refreshing and scary at the same time. If she does not snoop your phone she does not really like you. I really hated this one but I have learned to treat my phone as open. I can't remember to turn it off every time. The rest is 100% accurate. I was lucky to end up with a wonderful Filipina. We dated for close to 2 yrs before living together. Many times we were chaperoned by one of her sisters or cousin. They knew they were getting a steak dinner😅. She never asked for money. Has a very nice large family. Never lied about her situation. It's probably why we've been married 38 yrs with 3 wonderful adult children. She became a U.S. citizen. Staying in the P.I. wasn't an option she wanted. Though we do stay there part time throughout the year.
But if you end up with a "bad" one, they can make your life miserable. Be very careful. So many just see you as a walking ATM.
Nepal is even more poorer country than Philippines, you won't like to immigrate there unlike some western country.

#4 I think it’s not “tempo”😂 it’s tampo perhaps..and I think it’s ok to be curious at the beginning because you definitely don’t know the person in front of you that will be part of her life. It should be both parties. Well speaking from experience. Lots of foreign men are playing their games too as they think they have millions of options.

Great advice, better learn from other's experience than find out the hard way. Found my Asian girl friend by chance on an international flight after her two week overseas tour... She is financially secure so ticked one box. Was divorced 3yrs said she'd show me her city sights. Didn't take it seriously but two days later surprised me by turning up at my hotel. She took time off work and I had to insist she didn't pay for everything. A good sign for me.

When you compliment a Filipina that she's beautiful and they say "no I'm not", it's not so much that they're insecure as much as it's part of the culture's humility to deflect praise. Because saying "thank you" is interpreted as "yes, I am beautiful" and that is something they loathe upon.

Totally agree with you specially those who came from the country side, they are shy and humble. City girls and those pinays who are abroad are more westernized and will reply thank you, like me I'm in Canada I say thank you even if I know I'm not pretty haha. I may dis agree of someone's comment, but maybe in his sight I look pretty. Men don't only look at a woman's face, there's other aspects of her that a man finds beautiful.
My wife would ask me if I liked what she was wearing. I would say it looked really good, because it really did look good on her. She would immediately go into the bedroom and change into something else that did not look so good. Finally, I learned to say yeah, it looks ok. Then she would not change to something else. Then she looked great all the time. It is one of those Philippine things that I got used to over the years.🙄
Nice advice. I did talk to a lot of them but always with eyes and ears wide open. Once, one was talking to me pretending to be in Northern Mindanao for me to find out that in fact she wasn't even in the Philippines but in New Zealand already with a guy from there, but still she was trying to get something out of other men. We started out online (late 2009) on a very irregular basis due to time differences and both having a full time job plus that both she and I also had other commitments (Hobby, friends, family). Long story short, Sept 2010, she picked me up from the airport (CEB). (I didnt know that people who pick up friends, family are NOT allowed to enter the arrival building in PH). After that straight to the hotel (Waterfront Cebu City). The next day, she took me to her mom, dad & brother.

Mike, I made it clear to my gf that culturally, looking at my phone is absolutely unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of trust. She accepted it and has never tried. Im sure it was you who previously mentioned. Set the ground rules early on in the relationship, and if she's committed, she will follow. I dont have anything to hide, but the stalking is a definite no no for me. I dont need to look at her phone, and she certainly doesn't need to be looking at mine.

Spot on with all u say. I had LDR for 4 mnths. Agreed to have a face to face. I rented Air BnB for 2 weeks. Me, 65, she 31. She met me with her brother & Sis in law - at the airport. We went to the condo and she stayed. Next morning she had something to tell me - “I have kids”. 3 of them. Youngest, 2 yo! Her husband left her. Yes, she looked thru my phone and all the other things happened but she never asked for money. That was 6 years ago and we love the heck outa each other and i love her kids too. Now we have a house, run a small business, holiday overseas, sometimes. All i can say is, I consider myself very lucky - it could have been another sad story. Thanks Mike. Good job.

I had a contact with a girl that was working on a ship, or so she said. She started asking me for money, to help her or to help her family, because her sister was sick or something. I did'nt know her and we had no relationship but she seemed to think that I could be a money pit to her. It sounded more and more like she was on a fishing expedition and I was the fish, so I ended our chat and wished her and her family well, but said I could'nt help her. She grew silent very fast indeed.

It wasn’t like I visited them and I’ve seen it all when it comes to Filipina and their families and there’s not much that doesn’t surprise me anymore.
but the Philippines saved my life and if you find a good Filipina, you have struck gold because a good Filipino are the best girls in the world by far and by my experience, they are the province girls not the girls that lived in Manila or Cebu educated in those towns these girls are not really all that much interested in older foreigners so beware if they’re interested in you it’s for something else.

I had a woman meet me at the airport and it was great. If staying in a hotel, it is as simple as moving hotels if one wants to disengage. One should not enter a relationship if one cannot say "I'd like some space for a few days." One thing that is important is pre-communication. "I will be taking some space every few days if we enter a relationship. Is that comfortable for you?" If expectations are set up-front they don't have to be pushed or explained later.

Hey, I'm Filipino and I think they're not really dark secrets but mysteries to embrace and adapt with. They're common things that happen even between Filipinos. Filipino culture is just diverse to many foreigners and would need learning. Knowing your woman well is the key, do background checks if necessary up to your satisfaction before involving yourselves deeper if you guys are really in to Filipinas💔

Her dad just died a month ago. Her mom died 8 months ago. This is all talk to her dad several times when I first met him, he told me I could take his daughter anywhere I wanted to and he said that he said, if I want to be here. That's fine if I want to be in my country. I can take her there if I want to. But it was no go to go to my country. Nothing like that he wasn't talking like that.
