I had this lying around on my hard disk as a shockwave flash animation file for a while, and have now finally got around to converting it to video and uploading it. Enjoy!

@@alexthedemon2203 this channel uploaded it 6 years ago. It was made WAAAAYYY before that. I also remember watching it when I was 8 or something. I think Mauls first legs in the Clone Wars is a reference to this fan animation.

Reminds me more of the gendy clone wars style but now that u mention it I can see these 2 styles mixed.

I will never forget when i first saw this animation more than a decade ago. It got all the way into my mind for so many years. Knowing that this was an adaptation of a comic was something i always imagined, but never knew until very receantly. All i can say is: Thanks to this animation, i KNEW Darth Maul didn't die on The Phantom Menace. This short story has just so much plotential too.

i think that if owen allowed luke to be trained by obi-wan then he would be more powerful
Owen is a good man, but like a lot of people on Tattoine, he thinks burying his head in the sand will protect him and his family from rest of the galaxy. Plus his brother Anikan also trained to be a Jedi, n what happened? Darth Vader. He is worried that same could happen to Luke.

I hate to disagree with you, but Old Wounds makes Maul seem like less of a weakling
I agree. It's a lot more symbolic that way. It's less about the fighting, and more about the meaning behind it. Maul had so much pent-up hatred for so long that all he could think about was killing Obi-Wan and getting his revenge. Nothing else mattered to him in life. His anger and madness blinded him. This is demonstrated in Maul's actions: if you watch the scene where Maul rushes Obi-Wan, you see that he tries to use the same move that he used to kill Qui-Gonn, a choice that was probably symbolic to Maul. However, Obi-Wan was anticipating this, and knew exactly how he would counter it. He killed Maul mercifully, and with emotional detachment- like a Jedi should. He even laid him to rest himself, when any other might have just tossed his body aside in the desert and gone about their day. I think all that ultimately says a lot more than a zany lightsaber battle culminating with Maul being shot in the head.
I think Filoni brought back Maul because he read this story.
Maul’s death in Rebels was so much more meaningful. There’s a lack of development in this version of Maul, at least compared to what we have in canon. Maul died at the hands of Kenobi, and in his final moments he no longer hid the vulnerability he had felt for so long. Maul is a very tragic character, one who lost his name, his brother, his mother, all to the Sith. He coped with anger. And in his final moments, Obi-Wan comforts him. They both relish the fact that the Chosen One (whom they think to be Luke) will restore order and destroy the Sith once and for all.
“He will avenge us.”
No it’s not flashy. It’s no Battle of the Heroes. But the fighting doesn’t matter. It’s never mattered. What matters are the story and the characters in it. I couldn’t think of a better way for him to go.
Oh yeah? Well, did Rebels have Obi Wan rise from the ground and not be questioned?

While I did like his death in rebels, the depiction of maul in rebels leading up to death did not do his character justice
100% Filoni wrote a most fitting end for Maul and the Obi Wan arc.

This very video was the reason i wasn't surprised when it was officially announced Maul was alive.
I spent so much time on flashportal back then. Can't believe how amazing it was back then vs. now lol. Artists and animators have come so far online since then.
This is so much better than what we got at Rebels.
Immediately what I thought as soon as I saw Luke and Owen seeing Maul running right towards them.
I didn't know this story had been animated, it looks like the clone wars. Needs a remaster.

An alternate version of the final duel between Kenobi and Maul. I like it. It was unexpected, and I think that’s what I liked about it.
This isnt a alternate version, this is a animated version of a comic called star wars visionarys from 2005,technically rebels is one alternate version of this
Honestly, Twin Suns is a better ending for Maul's story.
Honestly wish that Darth Maul hadn't been brought back for TCW and Rebels. I think this would've been a great way to end an Obi Wan Kenobi stand alone Movie. Especially if they brought back Ewan McGregor and Ray Park to do it.
Maby they will have to take Rebel out of Canon, it is a stupid show.

If you watch the director's cut version of Revenge of the Sith, Obi Wan hands over the baby to Owen and then proceeds to bury himself outside of Owen's house. That scene was removed due to time constraints

In my opinion, this is way better than in Star Wars Rebels. The fight I mean. It’s to bad this is in Legends. This flash vidoe made me want to believe that Darth Maul survived. It’s more reasonable explanation than just his mere hatred for Obi-Wan kept him alive. Ik that’s what kept him alive but still, the idea of him surviving his injury in the clone wars is silly. In the end, I’ll give them credit for making Darth Maul a more relevant character and less minor. I think the idea of Darth Maul having a small role in the phantom menace was dumb concerning he was the antagonist for phantom menace.
