That voice for Maul sounds EXACTLY like Sam Witwer absolutely incredible.
Thats actually BAD not a good positive thing. The voice of darth maul should be the original from THE PHANTOM MENACE not garbage aka TCW so stop farting and lying and capping.

Fun facts: This tale was considered mostly ambiguous canon for some time, but was written from a “what-if” mindset. It was acknowledged as an ambiguously non-canon tale to the Classic continuity, but not entirely. We know Maul’s ultimate fate in Legends, but not how he died before his revival/ encounter with Darth Vader circa 0 ABY. It is possible that something along the lines of Twin Sun’s occurred, and Maul’s body had to be reformed by the dark side practitioners we see bring him back to challenge Vader. This was likely just one of many ways Palpatine thought he could squeeze some more use out of his former, dead apprentice. Super sad and sick.
Was it ever confirmed that the Maul killed by Vader was the real one and not some sort of dark side mirage?

this was the reason why they brought him back in the clone wars. I feel this story is retconned but I had this years before maul returned in a dark horse comic

I love how Dave Filoni basically copied this design when Maul was restored in the Clone Wars. A little detail is how Maul had the huge horns in his spider form, but they shrunk down when he got the legs.
this was made years before maul was shown on ckibe was anime if heir was a poetic time to bring back maul this would be it. it would be hard since some of thoese flash backs about chasing kenobi could be wrong but hope that fight and chat is canon

If I remember correctly, there was another one of these what-if stories, in legends, that featured Han and Chewie getting sent back in time, and to Earth. Han goes on to find Indiana Jones's skeleton, remarking how familiar it feels, while Chewie lives on in the woods, becoming the origin of Bigfoot.

Something I like about this story is that an old enemy of Kenobi attacking the homestead is a great reason for Owen to have such negativity towards Ben and not want him near them, even tho his job is to protect Luke
it's scary too think that in this canon, maul was all over the prequels and almost killed luke just to kill obi-wan, that is dedication

I love the new version of this story, but I like this one more. I like the idea that Maul was stalking Obi-Wan all those years and came close to finding him a few times. Just would’ve been better if there duel was more like the one in Rebels. Tbh if he never came back during the Clone Wars this would’ve been the perfect story for the Kenobi show. It would similar to the show we have now but instead of Leia getting kidnapped, it would be Luke getting kidnapped and Obi-Wan would spend most of the show trying to find him and get him home. And the kidnappers would be criminals working for Maul. Most, or all of the show would take place on Tatooine.
While I agree with everything else, it would be a little problematic in terms of continuity for Luke to be the victim, considering he barely knew Obi-Wan before Episode IV judging by how he describes him to C-3PO, and had never seen a lightsaber or anyone use the Force. It'd had to be so Luke never interacts with Maul or at least doesn't see him and Obi-Wan dueling.

I remember reading this comic many years ago.

Such a fantastic comic 🙂.
That's pretty similar to how it went in TCW and Rebels, with the exact same look, particularly the legs, and in both instances, we have Maul finding Obi-Wan on Tatooine while Luke is a little kid, then Obi-Wan cuts his lightsaber in half, he gets killed, and Obi-Wan disposes of the body. Filoni probably saw this before Maul was brought back on tv. He was mainly in charge of both shows, and it's obvious that a lot of the details were purposefully kept the same, which seems like how he would do it.
It is confirmed that this was the original inspiration behind Darth Maul in The Clone Wars, as revealed by George Lucas's daughter. This design was reutilized there and mixed with the ideas George had for Maul in both Clone Wars and his outlines for the Sequel Trilogy. Filoni later adapted this final confrontation in Star Wars Rebels. So yeah, it is officially conected.
@@gianluccamontechiari7662 Lucas makes a good plan for sequels, Disney takes a dump on it, Filoni ties up the leftovers from what would have been a far better trilogy. Sounds about right.
@@UnswimmingFishYT That is not really how it went. Filoni turning George's sequel ideas into Darth Maul's story in the Clone Wars happened prior to the sale to Disney. A couple elements from Lucas's sequels were utilized in the actual movies. Especially the portrayal of Luke in The Last Jedi, who was inspired by Colonel Kurtz from Apocalipse Now in his latest drafts of Episode VII. But a lot of stuff was pushed aside, with some fragments popping up in many different projects. It doesn't really bother me much.

I’ve been waiting all day to see this video!!! I found this comic in high school been one of my favorite Star Wars comics ever!!! It’s sad that it’s not canon and we got the shitty battle between them in rebels but will always see this as their true last battle!!!

I remember reading about this in one of the "empire" legends comics, but I'm still a bit confused as to how this fits in the greater universe. Do the legends maul comics still happen with jaboag and such, does this fit in with the clone wars, or is this just and alternative fate then we saw in rebels.
Its best to separate the clone wars show and the expanded universe as completely different things. TCW doesn't fit into the EU at all, especially when you consider all the multimedia project stuff.
This was a what if... Never meant to be part of the EU, like star wars tales
Tales are non canon story to the original Star Wars canon continuity now called Legends by Lucasfilm. The only Tales story that is canon is the one about Grivious backstory because it was referenced in some continuity canon sources.
