  • New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates on how to make New Orleans boiled Turkey necks. We boil the Turkey necks in highly seasoned water that has Zatarain's Crab boil, Cayenne pepper, chopped onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic and lemons until the Turkey necks are tender. We also let the Turkey necks soak for more flavor. This recipe serves 4 to 6 people and it's perfect for small gatherings. Hope you all will give this recipe a try.

Typical of the Crawfish boils in New Orleans. We have crawfish, shrimp, corn on the cobb, potatoes, Smoked sausage, pig feet and Turkey necks. All are prepared and cooked as an appetizer.

    It's 650 am, Sunday , April 18, 2021 in Atlanta. I just finished watching this video. This will be my dinner today. I love trying down home food I've never had. As soon as Big Bear grocery store open up this morning , I'll be there. Big bear is where we can find all of the different kinds of meat parts for soul food cooking. Thanks again Chef Charlie Andrews!

    Hey, Charlie. Thanks for the video. I have never heard of turkey wings prepared this way. I love them. Are they a little salty because of all the crab boil and do they taste a little like crabs or crawfish?

    • @CharlieTheCookAndrews
      @CharlieTheCookAndrews  3 года назад +1

      Hey Thelma. You're welcome, not a problem. Not salty at all but spicy which is typical of Crawfish boils in New Orleans.

    I'm American-Italian, and I LOVE turkey necks. They are very hard to find here in Raleigh, North Carolina, when I do, I make a "turkey soup" with them and oh boy do I enjoy. I like to eat them alone so I can suck on them without offending anyone!! lol

    The first time I ever ate a crawfish boil it had turkey necks. The only thing that was good was the sausage and potatoes. That was 1989. I’ve had plenty of crawfish boils with and without turkey necks. Finally April 2021 had a crawfish boil with turkey necks cooked so good I wanted to eat the whole crawfish and freeze the remaining crawfish juice.

    You gotta taste that water it’s the only way use zatarains for the salt and spice Cajun land seasoning for the flavor. That’s right mix them and put like 4 or 5 heads of garlic. Put like 4 oranges squeezed the juice
