I’m from the 9th ward and moved to Dallas. I have had a boil with OJ and it ain’t bad at all. It’s citrus like a lemon, but it’s a little sweeter. So it’s not as crazy as it may seem. I suggest substituting 1 orange for every two less lemons if you wanna try it. For example, instead of using 10 lemons, try 6 lemons and 2 oranges. The sweet balances the salt/spice. Y’all NOLA fam might be pleasantly surprised…

Sweetie cook your food how you cook it don't pay any attention to the comments about cleaning your meat bcuz anyone who eats chicken from ANY franchise can't swear that it's been cleaned or any other food we eat when we eat out for that matter NOBODY asks there waiter/cashier did you wash my meat off before they order or eat it that's why we bless our food and eat in Jesus name

A clean cook makes a good cook. Clean and wash your food before cooking. Exactly why I don’t eat everybody’s food. It looks good but preparation and presentation is #1 to good food.

When she saying we don’t use the orange just she must be from a specific part of the boot cause we fa sho gone put a little pineapple juice in the boil. Now I haven’t tried orange juice but I can see that being a substitute. You can’t taste it but it do something and it be good.
