I have an uncle that swears by adding ice cubes to his meat, he says it shocks the meat so that it’ll tenderize quicker. New subbie from Lafayette Louisiana❤️
When you see where the gravy is cooking down and you know you need to add a little bit of water instead of adding water you add the ice cubes. You know ice cubes is water and also ice cubes is sharp like a knife
What haven’t you heard of using ice cubes. When you’re cooking a gravy and you have to add water to it. Doesn’t ice cubes turn into water YES it turns into water and it also gets it tender from the sharpness🤔😂
Did this recipe today for the first time for my man and I. It’ll be ready when he comes home from work 🥰and boy does it have the house smelling amazing! Been craving this but never made it and this recipe is the exact taste I was looking for thank you!!
I just tried this recipe today and it’s delicious. This was my first time making turkey necks but I love eating them. They taste just like when my aunt makes them!
Let them cook until tender about hour forty five minutes. Take a fork and try to pull the meat apart and if it pulls apart then it’s done and the gravy will thicken. I hope that makes sense 😂😂
This is exactly the recipe I was looking for as this is the first time I am making smoked turkey necks. Your video and explanation of what to do is excellent.
Thank you for sharing this recipe I’ll be cooking this tomorrow I been craving Turkey necks and gravy and your video is going to help me prepare it can’t wait! Thank you
Roux: 1/4 vegetable oil, 1/4 Butter, 1/2 flour, 4 cups Broth Lipton Onion Soup (1 pack) Minced garlic 1 tbs Cajun Italian seasoning 1.5 tbs All season Cover with Ice Cubes to make them tender
I told my husband I wanted some turkey necks and I liked a different video and yours came across my timeline! Great Video! New Subscriber . Thank you 😊
I thought when adding ice to anything it stops the cooking process had no idea it made anything tender. I just thought maybe it was adding more water to the pot.
I'm glad I came across your channel while looking for a turkey neck recipe, definitely subbed and liked! This recipe looks 😋. I'm thawing mine out now, can't wait to cook them for Sunday dinner. Oh never ever heard of adding ice cubes to tenderize meat, thankyou for that gem!
That was a great deal! This recipe is everything girl, you're gonna love it. I made mines following her directions, just added a few different seasonings (because I like to put my own twist on things lol) and they were SO good. This was my 1st time making them as a main dish, I usually boil, shred & add them to fresh greens, or cabbage. I'll definitely be cooking them again like this real soon lol
Awwww thank you sis I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes you can put your own spin on it. Thank you so much. Also follow me at IG@AllthingsShannon and Tik Tok😘
That looks delish...you taught my 60 yr.old send something 😁 the ice cubes...I've never heard of it, but will be using it to help tenderize my meats. TYFS your tip! 👍Be blessed 🙏❤
😋!!! Now, those Turkey necks can't be nothing but delicious 🤤😁!!! Well seasoned just like I love. First time to your channel, and from what I just saw I definitely will be returning and subscribing! I got my Turkey necks waiting for me in my refrigerator so I'm definitely going to try your recipe later today. 😋😉! Thanks for sharing 💯👌🏽
@@AllthingsShannon Good morning, just wanted to let you know that my Turkey necks were delicious 😋! So, delicious I got a bit disappointed when I didn't have any more left 😁. I also cooked me some cabbage with a couple smoked turkey necks and sausage with corn bread on the side. Boy, that was the best cabbage I had cooked in quite some time 😋☺️. Have a great day 🤗
How do ice cube make it tender? Usually time is the only thing that makes anything “tender” . You might as well add a little more water… anyway I’ll be using your recipe today … minus the ice cubes. Cant wait looks delish!
@@funnyfarm2000 yes ma’am when I saw it trust me I was feeling feeling the same way but trust me on it. It really works. Don’t put too many because it will turn into water. You can also put ice cubes down in you garbage disposal and let it run with the ice cubes in it and it will sharpen the blades. Ice is really sharp
Why didn't you say how long it took the Turkey necks to cook? You just showed the end result without saying how long it even takes. Are we supposed to go by eyesight?🤦♂️

Yum! Ice cubes? That's a new one for me. If you have time, what's the principle behind this step?

One thing I don't do is measure when I cook except for jello
Can you make this in a crockpot ? What the steps be different ?
How long do I cook the Turkey necks in the gravy ?
Exactly what i'm wondering
Looks Delicious
Thank you
Brown your necks in olive oil and use sea salt instead season salt. Lower fat and lower sodium.
That’s what I use 😊
How many hours did they boil ?
Resourceful and very helpful
Does that ice trick really work?? By the way those look deliciousoso
Yes it really works
@@AllthingsShannon so how long a before I add the ice and how long after do it go tender? Sorry just never heard of this and want try it
About how long did it cook before adding ice cubes
About an hour and 2 1/2 hrs total slow cook
Ngl Baby Thank U This My First Time Making Em And Because Of U They Snapped 😍
Love it.
Making this tonight I can’t wait 🤤
How long do we cook them for in the gravy
I think I may have added my flour too early it’s still a bit tan 😩can I keep going and it’ll darken as it boil?
It should turn color as it cooks if not. You can add a gravy pack or kitchen bouquet
Beautiful job well done see

Hi how long do I brown in veggie oil?
Beautiful 💯
Now that’s how u season some meat❤
I like the way you did that for your you put the trinity in can you put your flower in I like that
What is the total cook time once the necks are back in with the ice?
Until they get tender. You can pick it with a fork to see if they’re done. It took about 2 1/2 hrs to cook including prep time
Why do ice cubes make them tender? Cooking them for 2 1/2 hours will make them tender anyway. I dont understand.
What's the cooking time
1-2 hrs total with prep until they get tender
They are thankful
Don’t boil them first?
You didn't add a cooking time in comments.
How long do you cook them for?
Until their fork tender
some Turkey Necks have a lot of meat on them a Delicious Meal 🦃
Sometimes it’s not meat. You have to clean Turkey necks. I take all that off of mine, people just rinse them off. Trust they had meat on them😂
So to actually cook the meat all you gotta do is pan fry them in a pot with some oil?
Have you ever tried using the Crock-Pot? Is so how long did you cook them?
2 1/2 cook time including prep. Yes I use a crock pot it depends on what I’m cooking. Using the crock pot would’ve taken longer to cook
Looks delicious 😋
Man I’m Making this right now 😋
Let me know how it turned out 😋

yep! Really work and thank you

It prevent your meat from being over cooked and keep the moisture in and then it turns into water

It depends on the sizes of the meat
