Hey Charlie, White Grandma here. We grew up eating smothered cabbage with pig tails, but I've never eaten neckbones. Soul food's going to be my next challenge. 😋
Thank you very much Charlie. The neck bones and gravy were so delicious! I cooked rice, greens, candied yams and cornbread. So delicious! Keep bringing your recipes Charlie.
You're welcome. I'm happy to hear that the neck bones and the other food you made was successful and that you enjoyed it. I sure will keep up the recipes. Thanks for leaving feedback!!
It’s funny because I grew up watching my mother and father and paternal grandmother cooking very often in the kitchen, but as of lately, you have been a “go to” influencer for me on certain recipes. Thank you and much love from the State of Georgia 🍑💜🙏🏾😘
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie!!! I made this meal today and it is AMAZING!!! My daughter said THANK YOU for sharing and please continue blessing us with your recipes🙏
Hey Andrea! I am happy to hear that the Neck Bones meal was a success and that you enjoyed it. You're welcome, not a problem. Thanks for leaving feedback! :)
Happy New Year every one! Thanks for the down home memories Charlie. My grandma use to work with those neck bones. As a picky child , (toddler age 3-4)my grandma would feed me from her plate. Man, the food always seemed to taste the best coming from her and her plate, rest her soul. She was the best. When I do eat them I always think of her, sweet ❤Hattie-Bell. 😇
This is something my family loved to eat. You have me reminiscing My grandmother, grandfather and my great uncles and aunts all lived together. My great Uncle would have a country ham on the table for sanwiches. There would be a pot of neckbones and rice and a pot of beans on the wooden stove. If someone went hunting or fishing or crabbing their might be deer or opossum, snapping turtle or squirrel or steamed crabs or stewed crabs, fried or stuffed Fish. My grandmother made berry wines and dandelion wines, cakes, cookies and pies. There were pickled eggs, veggies, and pigs feet. There was preserved fruits and berries. Plenty of smoked meats and also root veggies in the cellar. It always brings back good memories visiting them there and appreciated how they lived off of the land.Sunday dinners, family gatherings and reunions,Holiday gatherings. All great memories.
Lordy this looks delicious! Memo to the thumbs down folks - either you can't cook or you have no idea how delicious neckbones can be if done like Charlie. I'll pray for you.........
